I absolutely love your content. Straight to the point, no sugarcoating. I honestly really appreciate your reviews and opinions. Thank you for the video, as Rebellion is probably my favorite 2 player game after War of the Ring, even though we can only play each like twice a year at most.
Its the best game about being in the Star Wars universe and playing the Empire or Rebels. You can relive and play the key moments of the movie in different scenarios. Thou they can be little different, but still have the epic feeling about the light and dark side of the force.
Love the review. About your cons: 1) the opposing mechanism is actually very good. It forces you to keep leader in your leader pool. If you don’t, the mission will automatically succeed (no roll required). This forces the player to make a decision between an extra mission or reserve the leader to oppose the other side mission 2) you made me laugh with that one, empire project and mission cards use the same design because both are in your hand and you are limited to 10 cards. Also, the rebel leader doesn’t know how many projects card you are keeping in there, especially the dreaded death star laser. 3) the end game is lackluster in the sense that it is not epic, like the grand battle at the end of return of the jedi movie. It feels more like you are the one crossing the finish line of a marathon with the other player barely 5 feet behind you.
I was saying it’s weird that an opposing leader can just show up in a system and leave when the mission is resolved without being accompanied. Project cards don’t need different backs as rebel player knows exactly how many empire player has drawn. Just adds confusion for no reason. If anything it reduces the impact of project cards as more tension would be created if rebel player could see project cards in hand. Hope that clarifies my somewhat rushed points. Cheers for the response 👍🏻
SW Rebellion is very fun for the Star Wars fan especially with the expansion. Love seeing Car Wars Deluxe edition on the shelf over your right shoulder.
My mate nicked it from Boots in 1985 along with the Dr Who RPG (😐) and sold it to me for a curly wurly and a packet of monster munch. Maybe I should return it.
Apologies if you or others mentioned it but did you try the expansion (Rise of the Empire) that overhauls the Combat system? Found your channel from researching options on Friedrich. I really like the channel. I seen your opinion on the prequels and sequels but what is your opinion on the standalone films Rogue One and Solo? Also what did you think of the Book of Boba Fett and Mandalorian? Just curious.
What a coincidence. I just got finished playing my first game of this about an hour ago. Death Star blasted my Rebel base but it was super cool. Definitely learned what I would do different and look forward to playing (hopefully) next weekend.
I have, it was the game that got me into board games as a hobby. Very sandbox style, I’ve heard compared to Xia or Firefly a lot. I like the fact it’s open ended you could make Han Solo a bounty Hunter or Boba Fett a smuggler, however I found after about 4-6 plays the missions you see most of and it felt a little samey. Not much direct PvP combat either. It had upgrade elements like tricking out your ship, gear, etc. And that Made me say “man board games can be themeatic like a video game.” So it hits nostalgic value for me. However I’m not sure if put it above saying it’s a good game. I am interested in the forth coming expansions and hoping that gives more variety to the game.
This is a tricky one for me. Rebellion remains probably one of my favourite two player games (the 4 player variant is utter bollocks). The theme is really well realised but there are flaws to it. Yes, the two sides can just end up mincing around each other for hours and the whole thing fizzles out. Alternatively, it can develop into a tense game of cat and mouse and there are few bowel tightening moments like seeing a great horde of Alliance forces or Death Star sitting a mere planet's distance from your secret base. At this point you can shove a piece of coal between your arse cheeks and squeeze out a perfectly formed diamond. Play enough games and you'll earn yourself a very expensive neckless.
Great review, although I think I have a much higher appreciation of this game. I'm surprised you never touched on the combat mechanism. I think it's the biggest flaw of the game with all the fiddley card play. Although the expansion helped fix that a bit. Good show guvna!
@@BoardGameBollocks I think the expansion is worth it just for combat rule changes with and bigger cards . Also I like that Jabba is in it. The rest of it is unnecessary
It might not have prequals and sequals but they ruined the franchise for me so I am passing on this one because of that - if there ever was an itch this could scratch then the skin there has been ripped off by the incompetent bastards that milked this franchise to the bone.

Rogue One deserves to be included in this.
Is it not in the expansion?
@BoardGameBollocks ya it is. I was stating the fact that it is
this game is the dogs' bollocks for Star Wars fans.

Not played it. I read it wasn’t worth it before I picked up the base game but a few on here have said otherwise. Food for thought.

No coincidences in life. I knew you were playing this…weird innit
@@BoardGameBollocks Bollocks!😂
A very passionate and entertaining overview of the game. Have you had the opportunity to play Star Wars Outer Rim, any feedback?

I’ve not played it I’m afraid.

Sounds like a get rich quick scheme I should try

I’ve read the expansion isn’t worth it. Not true?

Is it worth 80 quid!!!?
No
@@BoardGameBollocks didn’t think so. Will wait for a sale or give it a miss.
Hope you feel better mate.
I consider it one of my biggest failings in life that I cannot get my wife to play this game with me 😔
Get a new wife 🤷
That's better :)
👍🏻
Déjà vu!
Wasn’t happy with audio 👍🏻
Loved this review till you dissed my boy Jar Jar.

I agree with you. I wish it would stop. In fact it should’ve stopped after the first film.
If you are like me, and do not consider the sequels as my own personal canon, then this would not be an issue.
not funny
?
