I have grandbabies that are all boys so I loved the trac and car kit thought it was really cute would be a great addition to any of their rooms and would serve as a nice night light for any child.
Maybe some day I'll manage to get one if I ever manage to handle the free hand quilting. I'm making my great-grandson a quilt with construction equipment on it and I've cut the handprints of him and his parents and his grandma and mine out of felt to attach on the front and then I want to do stippling and it's been a big job. You're very talented and fun to watch. So much energy.
Oh my God I love you! Now I know what I want to make for Christmas. And Halloween. And Easter. And St. Patrick's Day. And Labor Day Weekend. And President's Day. And every day. Lol. Vanessa, you are so inspiring. Seriously. Thank you for these!
Hi! I am so psyched to do the lighted wall hanging for my grandson who is autistic. This is my very first project on my sewing machine I got for Christmas last year. I haven't had any formal sewing classes and was looking for a simple project to get started with when I came to your video. You make it look so simple and can't wait to get started! I'm a new subscriber and look forward to learning more! Thank you!
Vanessa you never fail to astound me with your creattivity! ;-) This is a super tuturial perfect for a little guy or even for Christmas! So easy and versatile ... and I already have the little dud in mind where it could land!!!! Grazie mille from Italy!!
Hi Vanessa wonderful just wonderful your Quilt binding lesson was just what i needed it is so straight forward. I have been thinking of trying this a lot just lately and the lights are just a lovely bonus i may just go for it and give it a try . My grandchildren will love this! have my fourth grandchild is due just before Christmas thank you once again Vanessa x
I want a really pretty patriotic panel With the light kit added Should, I buy one from the missouri star .! saw you with the video.thanks for your ideas and knowledge
That race track one is really nice but I probably wouldn't put the lights in it since my son would like it on his bed rather than on his wall. :) - Heidi
We pop the light kit out and my son lays it on the ground to race his cars like a play mat. Give it a quick wash and hang it back up. Very versatile little project!
Great video very straightforward and clear, but can you please identify the lights you were using? The light set I got with the starry night Christmas tree kit doesn't have enough lights and takes 2 C batteries which makes it very heavy, I am afraid it will pull the quilt down, thank you, Kim
Thanks for the tutorial! I purchased the green tree...couldn't find the raceway panel, it probably sold out already. I will keep my eye out for more. BTW, you look great!
I love this video! Very cute idea! Will have to wait until I get home to enter for the drawing. The company I work for considers Pinterest a "social media" sight and blocks our access, despite the fact this is my lunch!
This is adorable. I want one for my great-grandson in soccer if I can find one. I have way too many projects to do. I love your long arm, are they easy to work with? I'm just now starting to practice free hand quilting.
Hi Sally! I love my longarm and have had it for 6 years now. Mine is technically a midarm and is more affordable than some of the fancier ones on the market. I use a Voyager 17 on a Hinterberg Stretch Frame and the Dekk't Out Quilting Supply system on it. :)
He does! Thanks for the heads up. Forgot to add the link. It's added now. You can enter the giveaway on my blog. Here it is for you: craftygemini.blogspot.com/2014/10/quilted-panel-with-lights-video.html
Wow. A 13 minutes video tutorial about lights in wall hangings, but you don’t get to the lights until the last 3 minutes. If we’re watching this video, we already know how to piece, quilt, and bind a quilt.
My grandson saw this and now wants one, so thanks and I will be making him one.
