Nice! You've helped a lot with this. I got stuck trying to follow breathing from my teacher, which was very different than I do naturally. I actually have more breath control than I thought. Cool!
Very true. If you hum very softly You will realize high notes / higher mixes require less effort because there is less chest mixed in. Holding high notes is incredibly easy in terms of effort
@@IamSoEasy47Depends on how you want to sound. You may need to access your entire body. Pro level singing can (but not always) require a significant degree of exertion, physically and mentally. The word "effortless" can be misleading.
@@IamSoEasy47 If you believe that, that's fine. Everyone is different and everyone experiences performing differently on different days. If you're power singing, i.e., like Lewis Capaldi? You will be working.
@@VIDEOHEREBOBThere are some videos on how to maximise the feeling of the vibration of the resonance and build that rather than forcing the air out or using the throat, especially if someone wants their voice to last longer. They seem pretty helpful.
@@MrZZsharka Not to sound redundant, and I agree, but again it all depends on the individual and the sound they are going for. Some songs require higher levels of development, particularly when you might need to crescendo and even moreso, to decrescendo. Then you have higher levels of glottal compression, where you are not blasting at the vocal folds, but asking them to resist more air pressure. I personally think a lot of singers aren't going to that place where you are teetering on cracking or going flat. As a gigging singer, I believe you have to get comfortable with inherent vocal demands. Some songs grow increasingly easier, but others will remain challenging. That is why you are hearing more and more cases of singer's lip syncing. Singing is NOT easy, and anyone who disagrees has simply not gone to the place where it really gets challenging.
Hey just thought I'd let you know I like how you are presenting these lessons. I'm enjoying practising what you're suggesting and finding it very helpful 👍.
Thank you. This is very instructive and helpful. I've been watching your videos and learning a lot from your precise and to the point presentation. You're a wonderful vocal coach. ❤
Hi. I just found this channel today. I watched a couple of videos and all of them were really helpful, especially the breath support and high note ones. Could you please do a video on developing good falsetto? I can hit the notes but I dont have that airy or breathy quality. Also, I find it difficult to sustain notes in my flasetto. I would really appreciate if you could help a bit.
When I do those longs scales, my notes are not delineated like yours. Yours are so crisp and distinct. Mine sounds too siren-y. Are you pulsing the breath with each note? Are you just quickly moving to the next note and stopping? Any suggestions for getting sharper with my notes?
It’s a balance between smooth, even airflow and quick vocal cord adjustment for each pitch. If you watch some of my riff tutorials, I teach exercises for note delineation. My first advice is to slow it down. Speed will come easily once you are able to delineate consistently.
Dude is dropping clear, useable advice. Thank you
You're welcome!
One of the best videos on breathing I have seen
Thank you!

The advice that singing higher doesn’t mean pushing harder is an eye-opener. It’s more about balance and control than effort.

Sorry to do this, but... the word here is breathe* 😬
I came here to say this.
Thank you for the heads up!

Please get rid of the reverb. It isn't necessary and makes it uncomfortable to listen.
I like the reverb. I need to get the tricks be remenbered in my mind, so I'm able to use it in my future. It's easy to forget, what I've learned.
