Vibrato occurs naturally when all components like knowing our range, approaching it in the most appropriate way, appogio & diaphragmic breath support, placement & onset resonance coordination will inevitably result in a naturally relaxed vibrato, which is ultimately down to control of the above-mentioned and many more components. As one can also mislead themselves in forcing an inauthentic variant of a "vibrato" which to me is just a pitch modulation or oscillation. Wow Chris, what started as a clickbaity thumbnail turned out to be a comprehensible explanation on how to start developing vibrato. 😂❤ Funny enough I found my vibrato by singing along to Dimash‘s softer notes. Good choice to take his vibrato as the endpoint of this development and not the start. But you could have put him in the other category too, since his vibrato is just as lovely when he sings softly. 😊 Even though vibrato is not that difficult for me, I‘ve never been confident enough to belt. And I feel your explanations have helped with that problem a little. So thank you! ❤
His video is basically saying that you should NOT start learning with Dimash's vibrato because he is an extremely high level singer for beginners, the thumbnail makes sense when you watch the video. I'm saying this being a Dimash fan and a singer inspired by Dimash.
I love your explanation in simple language, everyone can understand and I enjoy, your demonstrations too. I am not a singer but I like to sing, I might need to get your free training. 😊
I’ve never been able to produce vibrato except on accident a few times, and from what I could tell it came mostly from being totally relaxed. I just joined the free course and I’m excited to try these exercises too!
I'd say there's one way to know if you're doing vibrato wrong, and that's if using vibrato takes more effort than singing without vibrato. Maybe it's an oversimplification or not good advice for some singers. But for me, vibrato is the default, and I have to choose when not to use it. I got vibrato differently than most singers probably though. Vibrato started to enter my voice kind of naturally after I had worked through a lot of tension and such. I realized that when I was using minimal effort to sing a note, the vibrato happened 'automagically'. I had started listening to more power/symphonic metal vocalists so I just let the vibrato in and kind of built it up over time, realizing the more balanced I hit the note the more the vibrato happened. Obviously some notes have less because my voice isn't balanced on every note or the style, but it's always there. What I find cool though, is when I yell or do distortion I get a wide vibrato on it, which just boggles my mind. That doesn't seem like it should be possible. lol. The human voice is wild
Great instructional video 🙌 I’ve always had difficulty getting an even natural sounding vibrato in mix. Love that exercise! Worked beautifully. Sooo cool 😎
Omg thank you for this video! I'm not done with it yet but I've been trying to add vibrato to my singing for YEARS and I just can't freaking do it no matter how much I focus on support.. maybe I'm just trying too hard and not relaxing enough 😅

That's why I like Ben Burnley from BB. In the little notes, he often has this quick fluttery vibrato. Like in Dance With The Devil, when he says "crawling across my skin", he uses a quick vibrato in "skin" and it adds a nice texture to the note.

Oh gosh. I know how to do it, but I learned as a youngin in choir. My music teacher was all about pretending you're blowing up a balloon. It was all about control of the diaphragm. She also taught not to use the throat to force a vibrato unless one wanted to sound like Stevie Nicks.
i was trying to do a vocal cover for the summoning for sleep token (it was horrible) i needed to learn vibrato to sing the note better thank you you helped me start screaming with the video with Will Ramos Thanks so much
Maintaining straight tone is so much harder for me. Vibrato is just natural. Not using vibrato feels closer to controlled yelling, which isn't as fun as as just relaxing into a song.
Because of how I control my pitch (using support/compression), no way I can do the first part without cracking. No vibrato control is my biggest frustration in my singing, but other things I can't fix are stopping it. It's such a clever route to explain, wish my issues didn't get in the way.
I finally learned how to do vibrato like Noah Sebastian. It's hard to get the hang of at first, but start by imitating a lamb lol "Baaaahahahahad baaad decisions..."
I don't get it. I sing just for pleasure and I've never 'tried" to produce vibrato-it just happens naturally! I thought vibrato just occurs naturally- is that wrong!? And DIMASH has the most natural, beautiful vibrato!
hehe, thanks! I just do dumbbell forearm curls but also preacher curl and standing barbell curl... generally cycle twice per week per muscle group with a whole progressive overload routine. :)
Is the vibrato exercise at around 6:05, in addition to complete vocal freedom going to help me achieve the type of technique I asked about in the comments section of one of the earlier videos on vibrato? I’m referring to that sweet spot among rocking, leaping, stretching, and pulsing the larynx with dramatic movement but without tension, injury, or any cause of issues with pitch or timbre.
Hello I am french so my english is not very good. So i made mistake... hope you will understand what i an saying. Do you know Lara Fabian? Dimash is a huge fan of her since he is a child. I don't have any knowledge of vocal technique but lara is a masterclass on it. Impressive control on her voice, i think that you will appreciate a lot. Her vibrato is perfect. I will send you a link. Have a good day
Marko Saaresto of Poets of the Fall is also a master of control with a wonderful natural vibrato. Perhaps one of these days you'll react to them, either to Angel from Alexander Theatre sessions or to Cradled in Love live from Moscow 2013. I know I've requested it before. I'm not giving up hope just yet ;) Great advice in this video, thank you so much!

How a vibrato is sung depends a lot of the content of the song, the nature of the song. Sometimes it will be subtle, sometimes hard is needed. So I do not agree with the statement here.
Look, you may not like Dimash's style, but I really doubt that you know a quarter of what he knows about vocal technique and that you have half the training that he has. He has been studying singing since he was 5 years old, he graduated from the classical music conservatory (they offered him a stable position in his country's opera and he rejected it to train in other genres), he went to university and specialized in contemporary music, Jaz and pop, he did a master's degree and a doctorate. Even today, he trains his voice every day and do you think you can teach him the correct way to vibrate? I really think you chose a bad example of mistakes in vocal technique.
If you do actually watch the video you'll see what I'm saying: Dimash is indeed SO good that you can't start learning vibrato by trying to do what he does.... he's simply out of reach. You need to start with simpler techniques so you don't get discouraged.

I don't get it. I sing just for pleasure and I've never 'tried" to produce vibrato-it just happens naturally! I thought vibrato just occurs naturally- is that wrong!? And DIMASH has the most natural, beautiful vibrato!
Hope to see your reaction/analisys to Benson Boone
What I'm about to say is off-topic but those arms look massive! Those veins though! 😳 What workout do you do when it comes to your foreams?
hehe, thanks! I just do dumbbell forearm curls but also preacher curl and standing barbell curl... generally cycle twice per week per muscle group with a whole progressive overload routine. :)
@@chrisliepe Thanks man. 👍I appreciate your honesty.
I love the vibrato of Véronique Samson.
Yes!
Hello
I am french so my english is not very good.

Hello sir..i would like very much you react Morissette Amon" Never Enought", "Akin ka na lang" "Rise Up" and lots more...❤❤
Dimash es el mejor de todos los tirmpos!!❤
Marko Saaresto of Poets of the Fall is also a master of control with a wonderful natural vibrato. Perhaps one of these days you'll react to them, either to Angel from Alexander Theatre sessions or to Cradled in Love live from Moscow 2013. I know I've requested it before. I'm not giving up hope just yet ;) Great advice in this video, thank you so much!
you need to give this one a try, "緑黄色社会 - 花になって / THE FIRST TAKE" there's also the normal version "緑黄色社会『花になって』Official Video / Ryokuoushoku Shakai - Be a flower".
the woman have a lot that i want to understand and appreciate about her voice.
and i think you and everyone who's gonna watch this will be amazed by her voice and charisma.
i'd love to see a reaction and an analysis of the "FIRST TAKE' version, it have a different vibes to it which makes it Unique. thank you very much
Dumb question but head voice is definitely not falsetto right? Beginner baritone here and I’m not sure where to place my voice here 😅
The terms head voice and falsetto are often interchangeable
Is this like doing a surfer dude/dolphin noise? Not sure if that description makes any sense lol.
my laugh is fast asf so if i add that sensation to my vibrato will it be caprino?
How a vibrato is sung depends a lot of the content of the song, the nature of the song. Sometimes it will be subtle, sometimes hard is needed. So I do not agree with the statement here.
What statement do you think he is making here?
Benson!!!!!
You didnt watch the video! The point is that he is so good, he’s too hard for beginners to learn from.
Dimash has no opera technique.
Just wondering will you be doing slaughterhouse by Ren?? 😊
Haha... I was thinking of vibrato yesterday and today you've uploaded this video.. are you a mind reader, Chris? 😅
Vibrato should have minimal variation in volume, otherwise it's too much like a trembling tremolo as if one is being physically shaken.
Dimash is the best singer on this planet. I don't know what you're talking about. I can't even continue to watch this video
If you do actually watch the video you'll see what I'm saying: Dimash is indeed SO good that you can't start learning vibrato by trying to do what he does.... he's simply out of reach. You need to start with simpler techniques so you don't get discouraged.
Please if possible react Jinjer "i speak astronomy", I'm sure you'll love the song and especially Tatiana's voice.....please
I enjoy Angelina Jordan's vibrato and by extension her runs. She uses her vocals to suit a song, not her ego.
Every vocal coach that has listened to Angelina Jordan's vibrato, has been blown away by her ability.
And I presume you are implying something about others? The most ignorant comment ever, if so, obviously unfamiliar with the other singer's repertoire.
При чем здесь певица ? Она женщина..у нее женский вокал? Не надо сравнивать мужское вибрато ,и женское.и Сопрано женское высокое..Димаш вне конкуренции...Хватит сравнивать Димаша ,со всеми❤❤!
I find it interesting we all know Dimash. And who are you. There’s a saying,”those who can’t do, teach”.
The best is ZHOU SHEN! Vibrato..voice..sensitivity... He can fold on any musical genre..he is a brilliant linguist. He has the voice of an angel..it is simply SOUL DRESSING!
Dimashhhh el mejorrrr❤❤❤❤
I wish you react to FORESTELLA, an amazing korean crossover group (not kpop), they sing all genres and in a lot of languages, they are the best.
Chris, what do you think of this performance, is there too much vibrato here? I like this group, but I have mixed feelings about the voice. [Official Live Video] Unlucky Morpheus「その魂に安らぎを ~ Dignity of Spirit」
Me perdona pero ara mi usted solo quiere llamar la atención con fama ajena. Y sus ejemplos se escuchan horribles.
What's the song at 2:07 ?
Ren’s cover of Message in a bottle
@@vadever Thanks!
6:13 😂
No other most diverse vibrato artist like Michael Jackson(45 years singing experience). Study his acapella songs from his albums and find out.
Learn from the best to become the best.
michael's is a caprino not true vibrato
