Yeah, I had seen a while back it was a very difficult process for IGFA records. Sorta sucks that you could at any time in your life, you might hook a potential world record but if you ain't got that exact board then you are screwed. You are the man, keep casting!!!

Moral of the story, release potential records in your bathtub or swimming pool until it’s official! I hadn’t been getting notifications for your videos. I’m glad you made it through the hurricane!
Actually I’m still not getting notifications. I just happened to realize I hadn’t seen anything from you and got worried after the storm and decided to look you up. Well IGFA just lost a member and a donor....I have long disagreed with some of their excessive rules and them not certifying your fish is a direct result of one of the rules. They really should consider the laws of the state in which the fish was caught.
I feel your pain. I went through Air Assault School in Hawaii when I was stationed at Schofield Barracks. It's 2 grueling weeks of very physical and mentally demanding torture. On the final day you do a 12 mile road march carrying a standard 35 lb. rucksack. I was a Forward Observer used to carrying double that weight, so it wasn't a big deal. But it's still a 12 mile road march after getting your ass kicked for 2 weeks. When the march if finished you line up and the instructors go through each rucksack to make sure that you were carrying the equipment that was on the list they gave us prior to the march. I had everything... except my ink pen... which my wife had borrowed the night before (without me knowing) and failed to return it. So I was failed. It was over 25 years ago but I still feel that disappointment in my stomach. It sucked so bad. But I know that, minus one ink pen, I'm Air Assault qualified. I'm also divorced from that woman. ;-)
@@MichaelKaal-TriFisher Rules are rules, and as much as I was mad at my wife back then, it was my responsibility to check for that pen before I started the march. It sucks, just like your ordeal. But it would be nice to have a set of wings on my chest and a nice World Record plaque on your wall. But thems the breaks. Great catch, by the way. I'd take that over some silly wings any day. LOL

Still keeping it fully legitimate with checking video, measuring devices, line, etc. but without dumb rules like how many flies are on your line.
