This video helped me so much !I was definitely spending too much time fishing for non bass species. After the video I was able to land 5 fish on my next trip and saved tons of time!. By far one of the best videos out there. Thanks for all you do!
Great job not only was very informative but also drove home the point that just because you have livescope it doesn’t mean your going to catch every fish in the lake
Todd, great video! Please add a thanks button so I can donate to support you doing more of these videos. You keep doing these, a lot of people will be subscribing
Todd, you hit the nail on the head when you say, "we're seeing the final product in tournaments" and later when you say, "don't just stare at the screen the whole time." The amount of time those guys have put into learning and developing their system and approach can't be undervalued. It's not just, ok I got live imaging now I can catch them. That, along with none their arguments being logical, is one of the biggest errors the anti live imaging people have. Just like with anything that at least mildly complex, it takes effort to be efficient. Especially to be even remotely efficient as some of the guys on tour it takes an immense amount of time and effort. Someone like Wheeler, Gill, Kyoya (Kyo-ya for all of the people struggling to pronounce it), etc have put an insane amount of time into being as good as they are with it. Whether some of the "unproven" young guys would be as successful without it, who knows, but people like Wheeler and Kyoya were dominate without it. Kyoya dominated in Japan before livescope busted on the seen and Japanese bass fishing is insanely harder than it is here. An insanely great day there is 10 fish, that would probably be the equivalent of a 100 fish day here. As for me, growing up helping my dad commercial fish seriously helped speed up the learning curve for me, mostly from running gill nets because you really get to see when, what is where based on where they're at in the net. It even helps more so now, especially cool scoping around a gill net. I was surprised how many times bass won't even react to your bait, especially the big ones. I've found more times than not big bass, 7-8lbs and up, won't react unless the bait is substantially bigger than normal. That said most of the time, at least in our region of the world, most of what I see in open water are buffalo and goo. Livescope is one of the coolest tools out there. *Edit: Todd, this might be the best livescope video ever uploaded to the internet, Garmin hooks this man up!
Well Todd just earned his Garmin sponsorship again he just sold a boat load of Livescopes. Great video! If you really want proof they work though send me one up here to the Ohio river and see if I can find the one keeper size fish that lives here. 😂
Fantastic on the water demonstration! Best I’ve seen and great info. Haven’t been on your channel in a while but I learned so much on identifying bass while using FF
Great video Todd as always!! I like how you show the difference between the different kinds of fish that you are seeing on the screen and explain how they react to your bait. Just buy a LiveScope and fishing becomes easy they say, fish just jump in the boat according to people like Randy. lol Look at how many cast you made right to the fish where they did not eat. One day people we see that LiveScope is just another tool for us to use.
Wow!!! Great video breaking things down!! This video without a doubt has helped me tremendously!! Thank you for taking the time to do this and sharing it.
Biggest ffs tips i have are i do my searching at 110 ft but when i see them i zoom to 60 and cast when they are about 40 ft away. Helps tons with identification and also identifying larger fish in a school or structure. I never run more than a medium filter so i can see everything. Always focus in on my lure. If i cant see my lure the cast is worthless. Great vid
I've had lvs34 system on my kayak just over year n half now. I'm so so with forward mode. I keep mine in perspective 85% of the time. I fish a lot of shallow water 15' & less. I'm very confident using perspective, I could spend more time using forward. I still stay very aware of my surrounding. You miss to much if you just kept your eyes glued to the screen!
Nice video! I throw at fish all the time thinking they should bite, but they barely react. Crappie, Bass, Whites/Hybrids seem to be the most active when a bait goes by, even if they don't commit.
Thank you! Very nice content. I usually crappie fish but am able to use this to help with the trash fish identification. I have already figured the gar out and this helps with the catfish. The bass you are showing looks similar to crappie wolf packs but are moving far more and faster. I may have to try this with the bass. Right now I only bass fish in the spring ( lol, when anyone can catch them ).
Thanks for sharing. This is one of the most frustrating parts about livescope. Lately I've been getting -tons- of followers that flat-out won't commit to anything in my arsenal!
I love this, Todd. of all the stuff I’ve watched over the years, this has been the best. I’m just a plain vanilla bass angler. I go out almost every day and I am understanding this exactly as you are showing them. Although, I used to use that color you have (amber or rust) but have recently switched to Blue. It looks corny BUT the bass returns are depicted as blobs with big dark red centers, Of course here in maine the screen is also full of boulders and tall submerged vegetation (Mess) but man its easier for me to see the bass in Blue mode, Let me know if you try, and Thanks!
Great video. Tip for you, you can fix your screen clutter "ghost tree steps" by adjusting your focus (instalation->focus). It was very evident when you were in 20ish fow.
You could see the elongated catfish body and tail movement in that school, they looked more "mushy" than the bass did, also the way they turned was smoother than a bass if that makes sense. Awesome video, you are helping me a lot. I fish the Ohio River and it seems all I ever see are trash fish so this is very helpful. You've earned yourself a subscriber!! Thanks
Dang it Todd. I had this figured out for some time now. Hope none of my buddies see this. I tried to explain it to them but didn’t want to show them. Anyway great vid man!
Good intel there Todd, live scope is a tool if you use it RIGHT you will be approximately 20% more efficient. What i get a kick out of is if we are bass or crappie fishing they think every blip is a bass or crappie , most angles when I show them what you are showing they relies it’s not worth the hassle or the cost of a live scope. I Disagree with not getting live scope for me, my time on the water is limited helps me catch more fish. Keep it up like what you are doing.
Todd man thank you for this video, its very rare pro's like yourself take the time to show us this stuff, i have zero clue about ffs , kind of intimidated by it, but watching video it seems not to hard thank you. Im not a tourney fisherman just basic weekend angler when off work, could you please tell me how to get started, i have a regular 10 foot plastic boat with trolling motor for my local lakes 200 acres and less. How much total money will it cost to get the same exact screen you show in this video ? im exicited that soon i could see my lure on screen and bass chasing it.
On AT2 in my lake, I know what not to waste time on, everything else gets a bait. I've cast to a single suspended fish expecting a cat and it was a nice bass several times. So cast to anything that looks interesting. And then..know when to move on.
We must be very close in settings, I run my gain really high too and still have a clear picture. Guys I know try and run their gain that high and they say it blows out their entire picture.
Good video. You are saving people tons of time on the water. This video should be illegal lol. Took me half a year and tons of time on the water to figure things out
So, I can tell you that turning off your filters and running 93 gain and I can see by body shape what fish is what 75-80% of the time. I prefer that as I can see through the particles well with mine. My picture is much stronger and brighter than this with my settings. No ghost, no tvg, none of that it is all filtering. Run it native and it is much better and realtime view than this/ The filters take processing time and weed out a lot of minute features imo
Lemme help yall out, you can get wayyyyy better at fish identification by closing in your distance to less than 40ft. If you wanna take it a step further turn on grid lines and you’ll be able to tell how long that fish is General guidelines Crappie appear as round balls that look like footballs Bass look like long skinny footballs Catfish will be a long think blob Same with carp This should simplify everything for yall

FFS and 360 is why I QUIT fishing BFLS I never caught a fish behind my boater my boaters wouldn't let me throw at THEIR fish I haven't fished a BFL IN 3 YEARS and if you look at the BFL REGISTRY IN OKLAHOMA THEY USE TO HAVE 150 TO 160 ENTRIES THEY ARE LUCKY IF THEY CAN GET A 100 ENTRIES AFTER THE FIRST TOURNAMENT OF THE YEAR. NO MORE FISHING FOR ME I DONT GIVE A SHIT I THINK THEY NEED TO DO AWAY WIT ALL THIS TECHNOLOGY
So, now I feel like a complete idiot for trying so hard to catch trash fish. I'm always saying, "They don't even care about me". I even got my 8-year old saying it.😮💨

@@toddcastledinefishing5924 Great video. Blows my mind there's always at least one of these anti-livescopers rushing to come and disrespect someone who is sharing knowledge to the benefit of others. At least one of them under every video.
I sent this to my son. We don’t get on the water as much, as I have to be a full time mechanic to pay the bills. We appreciate the lesson. God Bless.
Best livescope video ever!! Thanks so much...
You don’t realize how much you are helping me, I just put a 16inch Garmin on, thank you so much Todd!!
Great break down 🔥🤯 Randy’s gonna blow a gasket over this one 🤣😭
This is awesome....please do more like this!!

Spinnin Rod Todd getting the Livescope catch and breaking it down for his viewers! 😂😂😂 Good stuff Todd, this helps a noob figure out the electronics!
This video might be the BEST breakdown I’ve watched about livescope PERIOD!! Awesome Job Todd!!
Best video I've seen in a year and half of watching!
i've learned more about what I am seeing on the screen on this video than I have since I've purchased my 1st garmin livescope 4 years ago!

Good info, I still have hard time identifying bass alot of time. I've thrown at grass carp & catfish a lot thinking it was a giant bass.

Throw corn out there and if they come to the bait they’re carp! 😂
I can't count how many catfish, carp, whitebass, hybrid and walleye I've pitched at and caught inside bait balls thinking they were bass.
I bought active target an im so frustrated with it i just cant figure it out
What’s the best way to hit the beam when casting? I struggle more with that than anything. I’m hitting it about 40% of the time.
Wow. I hope I win. I will give most of the items you kids starting out learning to fish
Huh, I’m 45

With your gain at 73, How are you keeping the screen so clean?
What unit are you running the Livescope on?
Thanks
You ever run your gain any higher I’ve been playing with it alot I’m getting used to it
You can take this info straight to the lake and put it to work. Thank you.
Do you have your ls in perspective mount or mounted down. I just got my first livescope and I'm trying to figure out how to set it up
It’s in forward facing
Todd how do you tell a Bass if it’s a loner?
So, I can tell you that turning off your filters and running 93 gain and I can see by body shape what fish is what 75-80% of the time.

Crappie appear as round balls that look like footballs
Bass look like long skinny footballs
Catfish will be a long think blob
Same with carp
This should simplify everything for yall
The catfish on Santee Cooper will eat your bait. They hit harder than bass.
I know what hook your using 🤫

Dig it
