Cool video! I feel like defense is a topic not enough people talk about in fighting games.

Nice guide, very easy to understand, you might want to link a source that explains what frame advantage is

I played Blazblue Cross Tag Battle anyways. And most of the time the opponents kept meaty me on wakeup by hitting crouch hits.

You need to time your reflect or you need to do a front or back wake up instead of neutral wake up to escape from meaties

Dude I swear you are a fortune teller after the GGS beta i came back to gbv and I just...forgot how to defend in this game completley
And yes I always thought defense is all about blocking the problem is my fundementals came from bbtag which has pushblock, so you really don't need to defend against mix-ups if you don't want to...kinda true?
And that came at a price a price so painful called habit after playing SFV and GBV I get opened up by the oldest tricks in the book "empty jump low, stagger pressure etc" and one thing I just can't get out of my brain is falling for a tick throw or a shimmy
That gbv UOH jingle became so hard wired in my brain every time i hear it or see the flash I eat a beatiful 60% counter combo because i whiffed a throw
I hope you make more in depth videos about safe pressure and defense tactics and how to appply and counter them such as tick throws, empty jumps and whatnot

Sure thing i'm writing some more in-depth videos to share along with the other vids :)
BBTAG rewards offensive play and punishes defensive play, that's why things like push block costs meter and the universal DPs are extremely high risk moves so the skills you develop in BBTAG do not transition to other fighting games since you're expected to be on offense most of the time. I wouldn't call it bad habits it's just the sort of game where defense is not encouraged,
Glad that the video came out in the time that you needed also :D
