Good,so it not that easy...forget preparation time..getting on the ramps...so you can come over ..and show me how easy it is..I'll wait till he'll freezes over..I'll wait....the most piss poor design..probably a ford engineer!
It is easy, if a bit messy. As Peek says, you can do it all without ramps, easier with ramps. Doing this maintenance takes a lot less time than hooking up the trailer, loading the tractor, and then hauling to the dealer. You also have to make room on the trailer for the bag of money they will require.
@@dougcobb8114 I think Kubota shipped a beat here too. They could take a lesson from "Bad Boy". There are compromises to build compact, but there is a better idea. Ha, done with Ford.
I was surprised to learn that the bx has two fuel filters. That was a good informative video that would be really handy for first time bx owners. Nice work!
Pro tip (sorta), we use a small bit of Spectrum, or any fuel friendly lubricant on each end of the filter nipples, makes it way easier the next time getting those fuel lines off. Great vid as always!
Thanks for making this video. I won't be due to change these out for awhile as I just got my BX back in August last year but will definitely be coming back for a re-watch when the time comes.
I'd just suggest a pair of needle nose vise grips or an actually fuel line clamp to pinch the line and keep that red koolaid from splashing around. Nice work! *Keep on tractoring!*
I use this trick and it makes a huge difference. Also takes away all of my fumbling rush getting fuel line connected to the new filters. This is particularly true for the under tractor filter. Cheers
The change is not a big deal unless you have a belly mower. It is a real pain for an item that has to be changed so often. There is a reason people buy a conversion with a sediment bowl, and it is because not everyone wants to stop operation when your low volume fuel filter starts shutting your equipment down. Love your videos!
Good video! I just wanted to point out that access to all of the fuel filters underneath are the same. Yours was much more in the open than mine was. On my BX2680 it was a lot further up towards the fuel tank (fuel line from tank was much shorter) and was extremely difficult to reach. Maybe mine was a mistake of some sort, which is why I decided to relocate it.
I just did the fuel filters. The under tank one is a bit like building a ship in a bottle. Thing is in both cases, the filter and hoses were fused together. There was a point of no return as the filters them selves twisted up like a bread bag. Makes me wonder why I went for Kubota filters. May be there is a trick with penetrating oil? Next time!
So after the first filter change, they seem to get easier. I twisted up my first filter, but haven’t had near the trouble getting them loose after that…
Ewwwwwewwwww! Ernest P. Worrel 🤣👍🏼 Great videos are much appreciate your content. I’ve learned a lot and apply it to the maintenance of my 2016 BX 2370 - 1
@@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead I think he was referring to clamping the hose from the tank so it doesn`t run fuel out of the tank while you`re changing the filter.
I'm intimidated by that one under the belly so I had the dealer do mine at 500 hours. I should check how much they charged 🤔 seems like not a big deal when I watch you do it. Thanks!!!
Why didn't you use needle vice grips to squeeze the fuel line above and below the filter, a couple of 6" fit in that area very easily ?? AND,, use separator pliers rather than a screw driver to take the fuel line off the filter, using a screw driver potentially can damage the rubber line or the plastic filter, When you use the vise grips you maybe loose a few drops rather than a mess of fuel,,🤔

Great video, short, thorough and informative. Thank you!
That's one well maintained BX! Should last forever. 👍
That’s what Kubotas do!

Thanks! The filter underneath a lot of owners complain about so I figured I would show that it isn’t too hard to change yourself…

Great tip! Getting that line to slide off is always the hardest part. Thanks!

That’s interesting. That would definitely make it much harder!
I use the stainless steel coffee filter trick in my fuel tank opening so it keeps my fuel filters extra clean . 😊 Got that trick from Ritter Bit lol 😂
Yeah, I’m sure that helps!
I just did the fuel filters.

the under side fuel fillter loves to gell in winter even a fresh fillter will gell fast i had to upgrade the first one to get that to stop happaning.

Wow that doesn’t look like that bad of a job at all. Thanks for the great how to.
You’re welcome! Also, note Ritter’s comment about clamping the lines so they don’t spill. I didn’t do that and lost a little fuel…
No clamp on the line from the tank?
Yeah, it’s just a squeeze clamp. I slid it back with channel lock pliers…
@@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead I think he was referring to clamping the hose from the tank so it doesn`t run fuel out of the tank while you`re changing the filter.
Oh,Of course! Lol. Yeah, I didn’t clamp the line and definitely should have.
Since you have a lift, have you tried to see if the tractor fits?
I have and I can get it in the air, but the arms have to be so close together to reach that I’m not comfortable with it.

The first time was harder than this, but it’s not that bad either way… Getting the BX up in the air a little helps a lot!
that seemed easy enough. i would love to know how many people have checked out davis equipment as a result of your channel.
If you have a swear jar please add 50 cents I said a couple of big words at 3:48 🤣
😂🤣😂🤦♂️

Get a fuel line clamp. Then tilt your seat up and the fuel line can be clamped right there. I did move mine. it is right next to the front filter now.
Great tip! Thanks for sharing!
So, I guess it isn't necessary to bleed the fuel lines? Just turn the key until the filters fill up with fuel? Where'd the air in the line go?
Correct, it will bleed out on its own.
@@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead thanks
Just got my tractor yesterday 1.5 hours on it.
Awesome! Congratulations! I’ve got a playlist with lots of info about my ownership experience. Be sure and hit us up if you have any questions! 👊👍
It ain't a big deal. Even less of a big deal when you clamp the fuel line, but I really like my spin on remote oil filter with a sediment bowl.
Wait, people say this is difficult?
People lose their minds in the forums…do filter relocates and all. 🤷🏼♂️
Love your BX videos, there is a secondary air filter. Was an “upgrade” from Kubota. Part # K7561-82360
I’ve heard about that. I haven’t tried one…
yeah kubota gl series generators takes the same air filter and feul filters
