    I saw this tip on Tiktok and immediately ordered one. The problem was the original tip was for the non-tapered version of the filter. It didn't fit in my BX2380 even after trying to modify it. So I then ordered the tapered one, and it fit perfectly. Fast-forward a few days, and I was in a hurry to mow. I topped off my tank with diesel and then promptly forgot to put the fuel cap back on. I mowed my two acres, parked my tractor and then noticed my boneheaded move. I looked inside the filter, and it was full of grass clippings and debris that would have ended up in my tank. Even with having to buy two of these at $12 a pop, it was money well spent.

    Does not even come close to fitting in a B2601. But we can make iced tea and coffee, soooo... Will have to sip some tea while thinking up something else. :)

    Amazing. Selling a product he doesn't sell. The guy (Neil) can't stop selling. My Kubota mini-ex came with a plastic equivalent of that from the factory. It's amazing how a dead insect or pine needle finds its way in there occasionally.

    Great idea Jon and thanks for sharing Neil. I've had cap o-rings fall into fuel containers before and this is a perfect solution to prevent them from ending up in the bottom of the fuel tank on a tractor.

    Caution! I liked the idea and went for it. While installing it I looked a bit askance at the plastic like material (I now think silicone) around the top flange, wondering if the diesel might break it down. Decided to keep an eye on it. Just a few days later I saw that silicone off the filter and in the cap. At first didn't know if it was all there and was afraid part was in my tank, but I now see it has a groove such that it covers top, side, and bottom of the metal flange, so I think I've got it all. It had swelled a great deal, I assume due to the diesel, and came off in the cap. I feel lucky it didn't go the other way into the tank. I suggest you strongly consider removing this silicone before installing. I'm guessing nothing will go wrong with the stainless steel, but I'm sure going to watch it.

    After having several months problem with our L3301 just running out of fuel for no reason and weeks at the dealer trying to figure out the issue it was discovered that there was trash and a glob in the tank that would restrict fuel flow. I from the beginning said there was something in the tank. I purchased a special plastic funnel with a built-in micron fuel filter, no more problems.

    I did something similar, I took the "prefilter" fuel filter out of my old B6100HST-E diesel tank to see if it would fit in my new Z781KWi gasoline tank. It did fit, so I ordered a new one for my Z781KWi. Glad I did, cause I have already caught and kept trash out of my Z781KWi gasoline tank.

    Just make sure you don't take that coffee filter back in the house after using it for diesel or gas, it may cause some sort of weird taste for your coffee HAHA!!!
    I ordered one as well for my BX. The fuel can I use has kind of a screen in it but the holes in it are pretty large...the coffee filter would work much better for fueling purposes.
    I can see this working well for Jon seems how he likes to not put the fuel cap back on his BX after refueling LOL.

    Just YESTERDAY for the first time I dropped a vent cap into my B7500 tank after owning it for 14 years. Because the fuel tank has an offset neck I can't see it so I might have to pull the tank to retrieve. I'll be looking into one of those coffee filters.

    This would of helped when i rented a small kubota from home depot, it kept cutting out after a few minutes run time. Turned out there was a bee in the gas tank that would block the fuel outlet while running. They were not helpful, but I found out later from another employee about the bee. Definitely don’t want debris in your tank! Cheers from Calif.

    That's awesome with the filter. I've been on the look out for a solution like this. I was thinking to put a metal mesh screen on the top of my fuel thank because when I fuel my tractor at night, I ALWAYS RE-FUEL when my job is done before leaving for the night to prevent moisture to build up. So at night, I always have an LED lamp that attracts a lots of bugs. So when I'm looking inside the fuel tank to make sure I don't overspill, it's attracting lot of bugs. And I'm concerned these bug can make it through and clogg my fuel like line.
    Using this file will definitely be a great solution. Hoping I can fit it on my M5. When not I'll just by a similar small match screen and pre-cut it my self and put on the top of the fuel reservoir before re-fueling.
    But thanks for sharing that details, it's very helpful.

    I have a very large funnel with a snap-on screen available Amazon (FloTool 10705 Giant QuickFill Funnel). It costs about $9.00. I screen the fuel transferring it from a 5-gallon tank to a 2-gallon (I have a couple of these so I do it first and it's lighter to lift ) and then again from the 2-gallon to the tractor. This helps avoid spills and is so easy, topping off at the end of a day is a breeze The coffee filter probably has a finer mesh but I wonder if it is necessary.

    Neil, You can't pump diesel through it from a service station pump. The filter makes the fuel back up and keep shutting off. I would think it would be great for catching things falling in the tank like the little whirleybirds while filling with a 5 gallon can.

      @jifi-0178 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I tried one out on the predecessorof the LX tractors which is the B2650. The tapered filter only goes in about 3/4 of the way in the filler opening on my tank before it stops. It is better than the huge funnel with a screen that I was using as a temporary solution. I'll still use when fillling, but can't keep it inside the tank and still put the cap on.
