Our visit Agra travel guide documentary covers some of the top attractions including home cooked food, top attractions, fascinating temples and mausoleums and the city by day and sunset. We also cover off-the-beaten-path activities you won't find in a typical Agra tourism brochure, Agra city tour or Agra itinerary.
Agra City Guide | Taj Mahal Travel Video in Uttar Pradesh, India Video Transcript:
Well good morning good morning. Today we are in Agra (आगरा). How excited are you? Super excited. I mean 'hey guess what' there is a little kind of tiny attraction here we might be visiting. Maybe the Taj Mahal (ताजमहल). The Taj Mahal (ताजमहल) is actually closed on Fridays and we didn't realize that until we got here. So we can't visit today but instead we're going to visit Agra Fort (आगरा का किला). Yeah. And maybe the Baby Taj Mahal. Yeah, and the good news is that I've actually been to Agra (آگرہ) before and I've been to Agra Fort (आगरा का किला) and it is one of the most impressive I've ever visited in India. If this fort was outside of Agra (आगरा) it would be a standalone attraction in another city. So we're going to go check that out today and maybe check out the Taj from across the river. And then we have to buy tickets for the Taj. Right so busy day actually. Let's begin.
Agra Fort (आगरा का किला) is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that draws big numbers, especially on a Friday when the Taj is closed. Admission to Agra Fort (आगरा का किला) is through the Amar Singh Gate, which is the south gate. Outside the gates you’ll find guides offering their services, so that’s something you can keep in mind if you’re looking to learn about the fort’s history and architecture.
So we've been getting all of these like teaser views of the Taj. Last night we had it during dinner and today we have this. And I think we're going to get one more vantage point later on in the day. And then finally tomorrow we actually visit it.
Once you walk through a series of gates, you’ll find yourself in a giant complex of marble palaces, inner courtyards and gardens, complete with wild monkeys running along the fort’s walls.
You also get some pretty cool views of the Taj Mahal (ताजमहल) off in the distance - but we’ll show you an even better lookout point later in this video.
The Taj Mahal (ताजमहल) was built by Shah Jahan as a memorial for his third wife, Mumtaz Mahal, who died giving birth to their 14th child in 1631. He wrote that the beauty of the structure made “the sun and the moon shed tears from their eyes”, and while I may not have shed a tear, it’s a sight that did not disappoint.
So we made it to the Baby Taj Mahal (Tomb of I'timād-ud-Daulah - اعتماد الدولہ کا مقبر).
So our last stop of the day is the Mehtab Gardens (मेहताब बाग़ - مہتاب باغ‎,) which are directly behind the Taj Mahal (ताजमहल) so you get some pretty cool views.
so that is a wrap from Agra (आगरा).
This is part of our Travel in India video series showcasing Indian food, Indian culture and Indian cuisine.

I would love to visit India. Can you do a Q&A about your trip? How you planned your accommodations (homestays, etc.) and train tickets? How you decided where to eat? How you avoided getting sick etc.

Booking.com is great as far as finding a place to stay in that particular area, and the hotel and guest houses always have tips and recommendations as far as what to do, what to see, and where to eat around the area, trust what the locals recommend and it starts with the people at the guesthouses. It's hard to get sick, if you seek them cooking it, it's safe to eat, I would caution something that's been out sitting in the sun for a while though

The greatest design feature of the Taj Mahal is it has nothing but the sky as its background. There is nothing behind or surrounding it except the sky which is the reason it looks grand from any angle you view it and it dominates the landscape.

The emperor who built the Taj for his beloved deceased wife was imprisoned inside Agra Fort by his son (fighting over the throne). From the windows he could still see his Taj. They say he died a broken man.

Yep .. I agree with you totally, the Taj is one of the "sites" that actually leaves you with the "Wow" ... I was particularly disappointed with the bloody "White House" in DC ... it looks like a dolls house, small by what you imagine it being from all the movies. Now Agra has changed very considerably since '73. I guess it's a major tourist hub now ... Still love your vlog ... go , go ,go and continually enjoy

The Agra Fort is not that interesting, I would recommend checking out the Fort Palace, Amber instead. However the Taj Mahal is definitely worth a visit - it's better in real life. The right guide will enable you to jump the long queues and bypass the crowds. Plus you will get insights that give the visit an interesting perspective. The restaurants in Agra are underwhelming so we skipped out of there and on our way to Jaipur we stopped for lunch at Laxmi Vilas Palace in Bharatpur.

Thank you! The place we stayed at is called Coral Court Homestay and it was incredible. The hosts are so kind and the rooms are very clean and it is nearby the Taj. Highly recommend it.

Food Poisoning ..., Before I went India , March 2006. I had enough information for sanitary condition in India and while staying 23 days in India , I had about 30 Meals all together, all same manu, Chinese Restaurant's FRIED RICE. and I lost 10 Lbs. with that Trip . Luckily I didn't have Food Poisoned. But it was well worth to visit TAJ MAHAL , and ELLORA CAVES and AZANTA. Forget The Varanasi ! , ELLORA CAVES , I CANNOT Forget in my LIFE TIME !!!

To build the Taj Mahal an enormous scaffolding with a long ramp was constructed where the water pools are now located, elephants were used to bring construction materials to the site. There was going to be another Taj Mahal with black marble to be constructed directly across the river but politics and a ruling family revolt ended that idea.

      Tajikistan
      Uzbekistan
      Turkmenistan
      Kazakhstan
      Mongolia
      Georgia
      Azerbaijan
      Oman
      Algeria

    • @truthteller2991
      @truthteller2991 7 ปีที่แล้ว +9

Killing peacock is an non bailable offense in India because It is a national bird. Consuming its meat in India can also bring you ib trouble and you can be arrested. Avoid. eating beef, peacock ,deer[sp. in Rajasthan] etc . In general, it is safe to eat vegetarian food in India than meat [due to hygienic issues]
