of all the reactors to this franchise, you are the first to pick up on the "dinner reservation" and clean-up crew from the first mention.
Oh Interesting! Devinity was quick with that lol
I've seen other reactors catch it too. Maybe 15% catch it though. Not many.
I'm shocked people don't
Of all the reactors I've seen... this woman was the first I've ever seen that cackled all the way through it like it was a comedy.
They also picked up on the fact the puppy crawled to John when it was killed. Most reactors don't get that.
By killing the dog so early they made sure everyone was completely onboard with John's killing spree. You don't touch a man's dog!
That's right! Good set up, painful but the revenge felt good lol
Reeves did all of his stunts and the shooting scenes he did so much training to make it look are real as possible even the reloading scenes are as close as they could be
I heard, someone linked one of the training videos, awesome stuff!
Francis gave John the number of guards at the club when he told him he lost weight. That's why John let him go.
When Marcus learns that the contract on John is open, it means anyone can go after him. He takes it in order to protect John from the other assassins. All those shots were not misses or him wanting the money for himself. He was being a guardian angel, so to speak.
Yeah, didn't catch that for sure as it happened - definitely makes sense after - the fact. Great movie!
@@JrocksAndDevinity Internal Affairs1990 react
I can't understand why so many don't realize that “Dafoe” warns him with that shot: how can people to think that a pro sniper (presumably of very high level) miss a shot like that? It happens the same when “Leguizamo” asks to the boss's son “where you get that car” (you can see he knows that car).
Sorry for my English and if I sounded rude to you, it was not my intention, I noted this things in many other reactions also, I talking in general. 🍺
We definitely understand it after the fact, I'm usually just suspicious of everything and everyone until I get more information. Thanks for the comment!
In between takes the actor that "killed" the puppy would feel so bad about scaring it that he would pick up and cuddle the dog. After the movie became a hit, the puppy was renamed "Wick" by his trainer/owner.
The scene with Francis outside of the club actually has some subtext to it. When John asks about how much weight Francis lost, he is really asking about how many guards were inside the club. Francis responded in Russian that he lost around 27 kilograms, which is roughly 60 pounds. There were 27 guards in the club. On a side note, I've heard from people that speak Russian that the actor playing Francis actually said the Russian word for 20 instead of 27. He was either told the wrong word or just mispronounced it.
The actor playing Francis is an American and former professional wrestler Kevin Nash. He has been in a few films, most notably The Punisher starring actor Thomas Jane as the Punisher. In which Nash was accidentally stabbed with a real knife during a fight scene with Thomas. The props department forgot to switch the knife with a fake one. Nash didn't even realize he had been stabbed until after he finished the take and noticed the blood. He ended up just supergluing the wound shut and continued filming. The take where he got stabbed with the real knife is in the movie.
@@stonecoldku4161 interesting stuff! We haven't seen The Punisher movie, that's crazy he was stabbed for real!
@@JrocksAndDevinity Of The Punisher movies the one starring Thomas Jane is probably the best. Could make for a good reaction.
@@stonecoldku4161 Ill have to take a look! Interestingly The Punisher was one a my favorite comics as a kid. Somehow I never got into the movies, and only watched a few episodes of the show 🤷♀
You forgetting he played super shredder in live action 90’s tmnt.
Us old timers say when it rains at a funeral the angels are crying.
I've (jrocks) never heard that! Devinity just told me her family does say that at funerals.
The John Wick movies are a different tier of action and seriously raised the bar.
Obviously watch the rest of them, but check out Extraction (1 and 2) as well.
Oh Extraction, will put that on the list, thanks!
Two great things to watch now are the "John Wick Kill Count" and "John Wick Tactical Training" videos.
@@johnbowersox738 Oh, interesting. We will have to take a look, thanks!
and after Viggo says that 'get out of my sight' , he never sees his son alive again .. :o
We didn't pick up on that, cool!
Pit bull at end of movie is Keanu Reeves real life dog.
Oh cool! What a good pup!
staffie*
Pitties are much bigger
No, it's not. Stop making things up.
A solid gold 24K coin at today's value in U.S. Dollars is $2,609.40. Willam Defoe's character cares for John so when he heard that Vigo wanted John dead for 2 million, he had to take offer to protect him from inside. Keep your friends close but keep your enemies closer.
Pleased to meet you guys, here's the "John Wick reaction video Trivia package". The package includes truth, exaggerated truths and possible BS
- The guy who "killed" the dog was so overcome with guilt that he spent all off time cuddling it. Some commenters report he ended up adopting it
- Notice how Reeves does all his stunts, and how realistic it is that he reloads his gun
- At the end, notice how the dog he saves was scheduled to be euthanized, also that was Keanu's real life dog
- When Francis tells John how much weight he has lost, that's code for how many people are guarding the club, that's why John spares his life
- In this movie, it wasn't Willem Dafoe, it was Willem Dafriend AHAHAHAHHAH Also Marcus asked if the contract was exclusive and after learning it was open he accepted, for the purpose of protecting his friend.
Hey! Nice meeting you, thanks for the trivia. We had heard about the weight loss (from another comment) , the rest is all new. Good stuff!
Jimmy and Francis are two of the smartest characters in this film. John Wick is 'working' again? Be polite, stay out of his way, and graciously accept his offers to leave.
It's darkly hilarious to me that Iosef and his personal crew are apparently the only criminals in the city that have no idea who John Wick is. It's especially egregious considering John worked for Viggo, Iosef's father.
Wick was gone for over 5 years and based on Josef’s attitude he’s probably around 23 or 24 which means he was in boarding school back home and therefore would have no clue about wick same as his friends also. The 5 year conversation was an important scene when he checked into the continental
@@mickeymacrae1589 I find it hard to believe that he didn't hear any stories or rumors about John Wick, and do we know for sure he was in boarding school at the time?
I still think he's just a self-absorbed, spoiled idiot.
John like most highly trained close quarter combat specialist prefer to use the Mozambique drill it involves to shots to chest and one to head to minimize the risk of passing an enemy that can shot or injure you as you pass. This is very effective to eliminate a target and move on focused on next targets without dividing your attention or focus on downed targets.
Havent heard of that, makes sense why we see him use that technique a lot, thanks!
The world of John Wick is about to get a A LOT bigger for you both!😅😂
We are excited for it!
@@JrocksAndDevinityevery movie is awesome, my personal favorite is #4

i heard the actor who killed Daisy felt so bad about the scene he played with the dog as much as possible
@@andyhansen5397 Yes, a few people posted that earlier. I can understand it, that part hurt! Lol

Marcus only accepted the contract whan he found out it wasn't exclusive, so he could protect John.
Yeah, definitely didn't catch that at the time. Solid friend!
All four movies are good, but the second one is my favorite😂
We are excited to see the rest, they have been fantastic so far!
Welcome to the wonderful world of John Wick 👏🏽🤌🏽❤
Thanks! Awesome series so far!
That you have not seen the best action movie ever made until know is fucked up😂
You're not wrong lol! Probably has to do with the fact that we have littles now, so the past several years have been mostly family movies. Time to catch up on the good flicks we missed!
As ive posted on other reactions to john wick, the only non criminal is the ups driver who drops off the puppy🙀🔫
True! lol
You missed how Marcus shot to wake up John to warn him about Perkins. He had John dead to right and could have killed him if he wanted to.
Your right! I understood that after the fact, but definitely wasn't sure about Marcus until later. A lot of what happens makes more sense now for sure
Wicks friend didnt take the job to delete him h did it to protect him and warn him with a shot that he easily missed
Yeah, we figured that out later. I (jrocks) have a habit of being sus of everyone until I get enough info to be sure 😆
Just something about the value of those gold coins, since its really not well explained: The coins are representing a favor without a precise value. It‘s more like a favor for a favor.
@@mathiaswittinger2808 Makes sense!
'Speakeasy' is the perfect word. ++ for being among the few who used it.
Thanks! Devinity did a great job picking up on some of these things!
Not sure if you all noticed who the fathers right hand man was. Its rhe actor that does the really funny wold insurance commercials on TV.
Did not notice that!
RIP Lance Reddick
Yes, big sad
This movie started anew genre of action movie......Gun Fu
Lol, I'm loving this genre!
He was out for 5 and then some years. So Viggo had time to say something to his son. The only FAULT, is Viggo's. (IMO that is) He didn't tell his son about John Wick.
Good point, seemed like everyone else knew who John Wick was; also probably would have been good if his son wasn't a prick to a random stranger 🤣
He had no reason to believe his son needed that information when wick was no longer an associate
@@mickeymacrae1589 You are just like Viggo, mickeymacrae1589. When YOUR assassin is no longer in your employ, that is when you WANT to tell your son. He is no longer under your control. Think , man. That is why I said that this WHOLE thing, is Viggo's fault. 2+2. Do the Math. (Not trying to sound rude. Just realistic)
In ancient Europe hunters wound find an open field then place a bait animal in the center. Then pour blood in a circle around the animal for the predator soon to be prey, to be lured out by scent of blood and animals fear in the air then it wound be killed by bow or musket. They want Yosef to been placed in a place (Red Circle Club) so John would pick up scent and come to kill him and the hoped they could kill John.
Wow, they got deep with the references. Thanks for the insight, thats really cool!
Also check out Denzell Washington in the Equalizer films
Oh good call, will take a look!
Keanu Reeves did a LOT of martial arts training for The Matrix and then quite a bit more for this movie as well.
O e surprise about these being so good is its the directorial debut. He was the stunt man and later coordinator of stunts in the Matrix series.
2 things. 1. If Vigo had Apologized instead of arguing about being adult about this he might have worked it out instead. 2. If John got a "little?" upset about the dog he just had for a day what in the heck did Vigo think he would do when he not only killed Marcus but called and bragged about it? Bonus. The first 3 movies take place in a week to week and a half while part 4 is about 6 months later for John to recover before finishing his long journey. Glad to ha e found you and can't wait to see what else you have done.
Yes, 100% on points 1 and 2. Glad to meet you! Happy to have you along!
In the club basement scene, the only reason John Wick missed was because the glass changed the trajectory of his shots. to do a shot like that you either need to do a double shot spaced or like SWAT does, place a charge on the glass and get rid of it before make the shot. Sorry for nerding out a little there but it is John Wick so I feel the need to defend him.
For sure! Thanks for the insight 👍
When John asks Francis the bouncer how much weight he lost,he was asking him in code 60 lbs equates to roughly 27 kg meaning in this case the number of hostiles inside the Red Circle.
Yeah, a few people mentioned that in the comments, really cool!
30:35 Kirill (the security chief who beats John on the balcony and throws him over the railing) isn't Iosef's brother. Iosef only calls him that because he knows Kirill's a badass and, being an insecure little turd himself, wants to pretend he's on Kirill's level.
Gotcha, thanks for the insight!
He's being attacked by two different people at the same time watch out for the sniper he clearly gave him a warning shot so he would get up before the person that was coming in the room would get him
Surprised you did not recognize Wiliem Dafoe as Marcus.
Yeah interesting because someone else mentioned that also, we definitely recognize William Defoe! Guess we just didn't mention his name when he first showed up at the funeral, absolutely fantastic actor!
An ancient order called Assa-sins used to accept only gold as payment (weight in gold) for their services such as espionage, murder, or counterintelligence. It adds to the believability of the movie since there is precedence in real history. Some even argue that this is the origin of the Beggars Guild in China's past as well as the Ninja of Japan. If I may add a personal note, people who do work in military, intelligence and kill or capture squads must keep their feelings firewalled so they don't get in the way of what must be done.
The Red Circle belongs to the Russians, the Continental belongs to Winston.
Lance Riddick, the actor checking John into the hotel, passed away. His character's name is Charon. I rescued a pittie and named him Charon in memory of Lance.
Twice you see Willem DeFoe shooting his rifle, look close there is a mistake. In one scene it is right handed and then left handed. He couldn't shoot John in the hotel, rules.
The coins are not currency but a social contract which you learn about later.
Thats big sad, I remember hearing that about Lance Riddick. Interesting about William Defoe's riffle, ill have to go back and look!
I don’t know if you two on interested in watching (and I’m not asking you to review it), but there is footage of Keanu Reeves doing live fire exercises on a range. He is very proficient. Or as you said “surgical”. You can find the videos on TH-cam.
That actually sounds pretty cool, ill try to find it. Thanks!

If you were a Game Thrones series watcher you will rcognize the sonof Viggo (who stoile the car) as Theon Greyjoy and if you have Allstate insurance or watch their commercial the person with Viggo as he "talks" to his son; is none other than Mahem in those commecials.
Definitely! Huge Game of Thrones fans here! Read all the books, seen the show probably 8 times through. Waiting (for ever) for Winds of Winter lol
one coin equals about $2-4k
Ok, thanks for info!
Great reaction! One of my favorite things about this franchise that most ppl kind of miss (but that you caught) is that John has to reload his gun. You can actually count the bullets before he's empty. Almost all movies like this give the protagonist unlimited bullets which is forgivable in cinema I guess, but pretty lazy IMHO
Also, the one-handed clip ejection that John Wick does throughout the movie where he flicks his wrist to eject the clip was actually created by Keanu Reeves. There was an episode of Joe Rogan that featured the director of the film and they were talking about it. It actually is the fastest way to change a clip and competition shooters started using this technique after seeing it in the movie.
Thanks! We really loved it, awesome fight sequences. Also thanks for the insight about the one-handed clip ejection, that's interesting - didn't know that it originated with the John Wick movies!
No the reload was not created by Keanu. I’ve been doing competitive shooting for more than 10 years, (before this movie came out), and I’ve seen others do the same thing.
@@Parallax-3D I saw a video on TH-cam where a former spacial corps reacted to a similar scene and he said that's standard training because you need to be able to reload with one hand if you can't use the other one for any reason
if you are going to send someone a puppy.... Send FOOD, too
Lol, true lol
25:07 no the red circle is a nightclub not the hotel. However later in the other movies you will see some amazing rooms of the continental
Part 2 is up, so we got to see some more of the continental so far, really cool!
Bulletproof glass don't shatter like that.
Oh god...Marcus saved John 2x and you still question Marcus intentions. Ahhhhhhgggggg
I've (Jrocks) been conditioned to question everything my friend, lol.
The phone john was talking through to Josef when he said Victor’s dead, everything’s got a price. Belonged to the guy he killed in the bathroom of the red circle. The one who’s nuts he kicked in then said you stole my car, killed my dog right before he partially drowned him in the basin before snapping his neck. That was who the phone belonged to that john was talking through.
Also the doctor patching John up was the key maker in The Matrix Reloaded
Interesting! We haven't seen Matrix Reloaded yet

The dog was dragged, the proof is in the blood trail. The dog is in a perfect 90 degree angle to the blood trail. If the dog had crawled the dogs body would match the angle of the blood trail & you would have seen a T shape form between John & the dog
Good point!
That makes no sense.....why in the world would THEY drag a 5lb dog to him?? The dog crawled with this last bit of life to John.
@@philCTO it’s makes all the sense in the world if they wanted to send a message. Have you ever seen the godfather? Especially the scene where they place the head of a man’s prized horse next to him in his bed while he slept. So that when he woke up the next morning it would be the first thing he saw, freak out & then know not to refuse or cross them ever again. It’s all about striking fear & sending a message
@@sharronbrennon899 Why in the world would they drag it??? It's a 10lb puppy. They didn't even drag a big horse head. They would pick it up and put it there.
@@philCTO only someone with compassion would treat the dog with enough respect to pick it up. Then you also got to remember what Viggo said to his son. “Nice Jacket” do you think someone would want to get blood on it by carrying a bleeding animal? Then there’s the Aluminium bat one swing from a full grown adult to an infant child’s head will kill it instantly, what do you think it would do to the head of a puppy?
To the guy, you have had to have seen this before, you said boogyman, before they did. But baba yaga doesn't translate to boogyman so there's no way to have guessed that. what it actually translates to is more like an old witch. Unless you can enlighten me to something. Haha
What happened there is Veigo said baba yaga and then the son says the boogeyman (which is not shown in the edit). I repeated what the son said right after he said the boogeyman. The film is also offset from our reaction by a second or 2, you can see this in the first scene where we both go "ohh" a second or two before John's SUV slams into the building. The movie on the reaction gets recorded separate and placed in after. I was going to have the editor fix it, but that would have meant re editing the whole thing and I felt it didn't seem too noticeable in most cases. Good catch and sorry for the confusion!

She did pretty good on the first one! The "car ride" is John trying and failing to self delete because of all his pain. The dog is not in the car.
I strongly disagree. With the advent of the dog this is probably the first time he's felt a sense of hope since Helen's departure. If he was going to do that it would have been before. In addition to just blowing off steam, which he undoubtedly has been building up since Helen's death. This, I believe, is also the writer's/director's attempt to get the message across that he's still attracted to the thrill of his prior life. John tried to deny that he's not "back", but deep down he desires the adrenaline and thrill that came with that lifestyle.
@@coltonaallen Helen has been dead maybe two weeks, tops. People are buried quickly. The pup is delivered the night after the funeral. A single dog is not going to thoroughly flush that pain and grief from one's system.
I don't think you are completely wrong though. I think Daisy is the only reason he doesn't go through with it.
At that moment, I do not think he is attracted to any thrill from his prior life. Remember, after the first movie he tries to go back to his normal life. That's a slow, long burn for a message.
@@MxMe-su1ch I'm sorry, this is just wrong and I'll tell you several reasons why:
1) The gate attendant at the airfield seemed to recognize John and let him in without a word, indicating he used to do this often and had some arrangement with this fellow.
2) Your telling me he decided to do some donuts and burnouts before "offing" himself? Nah, he was releasing steam through adrenaline.
3) I genuinely didn't think he would have taken the dog with him on the trip if he was just going out to... get a one-way ticket to see Helen, let's say.
4) Finally, and most importantly, who fills up on gas before taking themself out?
None of it makes sense if what you say were true. None.
