After John killed Santino's sister Gianna, Santino became a member of the high table which is off limits to kill someone from the high table. And the fact that John killed him in The Continental is the reason Winston had to make him excommunicado. Winston did not want to do it, nor did he want to kill him. That's why he gave him an hour because he cares a lot for John. The prequel series called The Continental on peacock is good and shows you how Winston & Charon (the concierge) gained control of the hotel. And if you really pay attention it plants some seeds in there that make you realize why Winston cares for John so much.
As a Gianna, I find this especially offensive, and I'm glad she went on her own terms. Thankfully, my brother and I are very close, and the will was split evenly LOL
I love that they add so many Matrix people. The director were Keanu's stunt double in Matrix. Then there's Lawrence Fishbourne. The doctor in the Continental were the key-maker - and the one russian mobster who managed to hurt John Wick in the first one, with the champagne bottle stab and threw him off the balcony in The Red Circle were an agent.
Santino was the one who helped John Wick pull off the task that Vigo said in the first movie. The job that no one could pulled off. He asked helped from Santino to do that one last job so he could retire.
No, these movies are not based off of a book series. However, in the first movie, when John went to drive around the airport, he was let in by a guard in a work truck who was reading a book. I forget the title, but in the book an assassin does kill someone with a pencil.
The reason the fight scenes are so good is u like all other movies. The Director spent money in pre production on the fight scenes. Most movies block the fight scenes during production. In John Wick the entire crew from Camara to lights to stunt men block out the fights before a single foot of film is shot. The words of Winston in the first movie are the subject of this movie. "IF you dip so much as a picky back into this pond. You may very well find something will drag you back into its depths"
I love the shot on the train where John and Cassius are about a foot taller than everyone else so they can maintain eye contact the entire time. So many little details make these movies great.
JW3 is my favorite as far as hand to hand action goes. They are all brilliant, though. My favorite thing about the series is waiting to see what they are going to do that the previous movies haven't. I am never disappointed.
By the time you get to the end of JW4 you literally have to think back that the death of his wife in essence set off this crazy chain reaction over the span of a few weeks in “movie time”!😅
If you want to know what book John Wick was inspired by it’s Shibumi. It’s about a retired Assassin dragged back into the business. The guy at the airport that lets John through the gate to drive around on the runway in the first film was reading it in his truck
Keanu Reeves learned a mixed martial art discipline a mixture of Judo jiu jitsu Aikido and BJJ train for 6 months. His knife skills were Kali supposedly the Sayoc family unverified but as a Kali and Silat practitioner it looks legitimate his firearm skills we're acquired from Top shooter Hollywood Taran one of the greatest Firearms instructors on Earth, by the end of the series Reeves also trained with a, SEAL Team undisclosed and several other masters of discipline he's a dedicated actor and at this point in his life almost a 60 year old I wouldn't want to lay Hands on
Yeah, for sure! Definitely looks very legit, I can speak for the Judo, Akido, and BJJ. Those great hand to hand combat scenes make the movie that much better!
@@JrocksAndDevinity just in case both of y'all love birds curious think of The High Table on that Earth of John Wicks Universe as the Higher Ups far/way above The Managers of The Continental Hotels (Highest/Top Ranks AKA the Real Bosses) AKA the Real 1's that/who make all the rules/the Real 1's that/who control everything so f/mess with them little low P/Tick them off kiss your lives as well as your Reputations + Home & favorite Hotel(s)/Motel(s) bye bye!
@@JrocksAndDevinity Maybe not decent enough to respond to your question. I, however, was curious as I had not heard of this prequel before. Set in 1970s New York City, The Continental explores the origin of the iconic hotel-for-assassins centerpiece of the John Wick universe seen through the eyes and action of a young Winston Scott. It's a TV mini -series, the 3 episodes are rated 7.4, 7.1 and 7.9 respectively. It's piqued my interest and so I think I'll give it a go.
I think these assassins are taking their shot at killing John Wick *because* of his reputation. He's such a legendary figure, you would make yourself a legend by taking him out. Kind of that old west gunslinger mentality of wanting to beat the guy known as being the fastest gun in the west, so now you're known as the fastest gun in the west.
Chapter 3 just got uploaded to Patreon as early access - should be on TH-cam later this week/ early next week. We will probably be watching Chapter 4 sometime next week. So excited, the first 3 were excellent!

That's awesome!
I think he was more concerned with the picture in the glove box than the actual car itself 😁
@@danmuseo2802 very true!
I mean it would be hilarious if this was from books. I could just imagine the lines were just "pow! pow! pow! boom, then headshot."

Wasn't John Wick dragged back in by Vitos son by Killing his dog and taking his car?

JW2 is my favourite movie in the franchise because of two words. THE PENCIL! 😂 Great reaction.
