A world hidden from most eyes, filled with epic and profound beauty. Surely the underrated jewel of Australia, filled with stunning verdant mossy and water sated enchanted bush (forest), in distinct and stark contrast to the mainland. Phil, your work is simply incredible, this one bought floods of tears to my eyes, as it was a perfect mix of sight and sound with the inclusion healthy unique flora and fauna. I was there 15 years ago and to this day I'm still obsessed with it. Never has a place left such a lasting impression on me that I still find myself longing to go there (and checking out vids and documentaries). Alas ... it's almost on the opposite side of the world for me and I'll have to make do with TH-cam and a photo album that weighs about a kilo.

That's really excellent, Phil. I know most of the locations and you captured them beautifully. My great, great grandfather arrived in Tassie 170 years ago but he didn't have much choice in the matter.
I've been filming wild Scotland the last ten years in a similar vein to what you've achieved here but it's a project that never ends, always something new to film each time I go there. You've really inspired me though, this is beyond anything!! You've certainly upped the bar here. Thanks!

Patience is a virtue because all good things come to those who wait. Tasmania may be a small island compared to Australia but it's just as large in character. Such beautiful and original shots and the man behind the camera is the reason for that. From mountains to sea and everything in between, this was time well spent by creator and viewer alike. The animals were amazing. Was that an albino kangaroo? Is it just me or how could anybody not love a wombat. The waterfalls and the wild nature was sublime. The music crescendo at the end with the waves, (combined with the natural sound) was awesome with the volume turned up. This footage is just spectacular and can churn or soothe from one shot to the next. Brilliant job, Phil, as usual and thank you for sharing your love and effort for us to see.

    • @IntotheWildFilms
      @IntotheWildFilms  4 ปีที่แล้ว

Thanks Grant, we had a great 6 weeks travelling around Tassie filming its natural beauty. The White Wallaby is an albino that have managed to survive and breed on Bruny Island due to a lack of predators. They are still pretty elusive we were lucky to spot that little fella one afternoon. The final ocean sequence (South Cape Bay) is Australia's most southern accessible point (the opposite of Cape York). The southern ocean was roaring that day with waves unabated all the way from Antarctica. It was an awesome day. 16km walking in and back but one of my favourite locations in all of Tassie. Cheers and thanks again as always, Phil

Great work. Love love love the soundtrack. So many nature videos have music that is in complete disharmony with the visuals.

Thank you Kate, that's very kind of you. Finding the right soundtrack is always the most difficult part of my film making. Its all about creating the right "feel", I'm so glad you liked it. Thanks for watching, stay safe :) cheers Phil

I grew up there, I grew up thinking that the rest of the world was like that. I arrived as a babe in arms and left as an obnoxious teenager. If I was a believer, it would be my idea of heaven. I was not born there, and life has taken me somewhere else and some of the places that I have lived in or have visited since are quite nice but none compare to Tassie..

what is the music it is just as mesmerizing as the video and i would love to get my hands on it .
i have been to tassy there are 4 places that stuck in my head
    cradle mountain(bloody cold)
    the nut(miniature Aires rock)
port Arthur before the massacre(very creepy)
and a lake that looked a lot like Milford sound in new Zealand but i dont know the name

Hi Craig thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed the video. There are actually 3 musical tracks in this video all by the same composer Ryan Taubert. The first Track is 'Walk Free' the second is 'white knight' (begins at 02:06) and the third is 'Swing Vote' (begins at 06:57).

    Amazing, made time pause!
just a thought, but if your looking for more views e.c.t. i think its unlikely that people are going to look up or get recomended 'Wild Tasmania" Perhaps you could combine some footage and make a meditation vid youd probably get alot of views. and $$$$

Thanks for the feedback kmd man, much appreciated. I have thought about creating a more ambient / meditation video from the footage that i shoot but as yet havent got around to it. Given this feedback i may now give it a go and see what the reaction is like. Thanks again for the suggestion. Cheers and all the best Phil

You know....THAT'S a really good idea!
This video was just so 'moodful' ( someone else said it made time stop 😊), that a longer visual meditation video would be wonderful!
