Such a treasure trove. Incredible avian diversity presented. When I was young I thought bird watching was a joke; I cannot believe the joy it now brings. Capturing footage like this is not easy.
I have been a bird lover since a small boy and many of my friends thought I was joke back then !! So much more interest these days which is wonderful. Thankyou!
Hey Tim, great video! FYI Once you upload to TH-cam they process your video and automatically create copies at different resolutions. You’ll usually have almost instant access to a 720p version and then takes time to process higher resolution versions. In my experience it can take up to 24hrs for a 4K version to become available. Hope that helps!
This is an awesome documentary. So soothing to watch and listen to. I watch it with my free flying parakeets. They perch on the blinds rod and watch, responding to the calls and songs of the birds in this video.
Very much appreciated. Our Tassie trip is a wonderful memory and this short film is purely a sample of all that we witnessed. I hope to make a full length doco one day.
Absolutely stunning. I live in Canada, was born and spent childhood in NZ. Loved the bush in this. The birds are different, yet some are very similar. I've never been to Australia despite living so close (but that was many decades ago when people did not buzz around the globe like they do now). Thank you for this video. Gorgeous.
Fantastic video @timsiggs. I was supposed to be working this morning, but spent 12 minutes watching this instead! I love Tassie. It has been too long since I visited. Your video has inspired me, I must go back. Thank you for your fine work. 🙂
Fantastatic, Tim... thank you. I was surprised to recently learn how many colourful birds Australia has on the world stage. And that is emphasised here will a brilliant display of Tassy birds. I am from QLD.
Many thanks for your kind words. Yes, Australia has to be one of the best destinations for birds. Tasmania is epic as it is so different to other states.
I am so very glad I discovered your channel...so inspired & I really like your Doco approach and narration. The video clarity of the unique species was exceptional & thank you for the time you put in to assemble all of the special moments together. Tassie Endemics were certainly enjoyable to find for myself years back...all so stunning. I look forward to the next instalment 😊
Glad you enjoyed it and I appreciated your comments. Yes indeed, so many hours into this one but each one I produce, I aim to improve. Tassie is a wonderful destination.
Excellent work, Tim... the bird footage was gorgeous. My daughter started studying at Melbourne this year and we plan several trips around Australia over the coming summers.... including Tasmania, of course. FYI I found you through the link on Phil's Into the Wild Films channel. Keep up the good work.
Thanks so much. Tassie is a wonderful location and you will have so much satisfaction on your travels with much to discover. Thanks also for the tip on where you found me!
@@TimSiggs You are welcome. Although I live in Thailand, where we have wonderful wildlife of course, I'm really looking forward to filming some different species.
Thanks so much for your kind words. I have a lot of content on line and am developing some cool documentaries. You might like th-cam.com/video/jD5uqC8uw54/w-d-xo.html
You captured it all beautifully. Great camera work and quality is perfect. Thank for putting it together for us to enjoy. I'm a birder in Florida and most likely never be able to visit Tasmania but your documentary gave a nice overview of Tasmanian nature, birds and wildlife, loved it. Thanks 😊
Many thanks. We traveled from Hobart across to Strahen, up to the North Coast and down the East Coast. Was there a particular species you wanted to know about?
Stunningly beautiful! So appreciate the time and effort you put into these amazingly educational avian docos. Looking forward to a birding vaca in the near future. Cheers.
Really impressive and excellent quality, Tim. I'd have two questions for you: How long did you stay there? And, do you film the birds out in the open or were you using your car as a hide? Thanks
@@TimSiggs Subbed 👍. Reason I'm here, I went for a walk the other day along an old railway here in tas, maybe 3 kms in thick bush land and recorded a video on my phone while i was there. Came home, had a joint, played the video and was absolutely amazed at the sounds the birds were making ( maybe 8 all singing away at the same time ) and i thought wow...these little creatures are absolutely amazing! Then i thought what a weird quiet world it would be without them. This was 2 weeks ago and now I'm fascinated. I've always appreciated the sounds while waking through the bush but I've never really actually listened. It blew me away just how special the little guys are.
Fantastic footage as usual Tim, I enjoyed a brief trip to Tassie over 20 years ago myself, only wish I had had more time to see more of it. Those shots in the forests are marvellous in low light and needing lots of patience too. Those scrubtits act just like Tree creepers here in the UK although filming them is much easier as they are not quite as timid. Thanks for the upload, David.
Thanks so much. Yes, persistence and patience definitely required but an awesome place that gives results. I am also familiar with the Treecreepers, cool birds.
Peacefully beautiful Tasmanian forest with those endemic amazing birds. Amazing bird video documentation. Thanks for sharing.
Many thanks. I love Tasmania and appreciate your kind words.
This is the sort of work that should be on public TV.
Very kind of you. I'd like to pursue this but it all needs time.
So beautifully photographed with such an informative narration. Thank you

Great work Tim, loved it. Beautifully filmed and narrated, well done mate, looking forward to seeing more. Cheers Phil
Thanks heaps Phil, I can aspire to you great heights!!
This is one of the best documentaries I have ever seen, simple, calm and just beautiful and peaceful! Many thanks
Wow, thank you! This was also one of my favorite Documentaries to make. I hope to cover more of Tasmania in the future. Such a special place.
I hope so too, I just moved here and the nature is absolutely incredible. I can’t wait to explore more of the island.
I am going to remove this as it has rendered in 1080 despite showing 4k.
Great, it seems to have corrected itself and is appearing in 4K

What a fantastic documentary! Would love to see more of this content for tassie and other parts of Australia
More to come! The documentaries take a while to build but I have a lot of material for Tassie, among other regions.
So beautiful, I really want to go to Tassie one day. You are an amazing cinematographer, no doubt national geographic worthy.
You must go. It is a wonderful experience. Your kind words are very appreciated.
