I am ashamed I did not think of this on my own.
I did the same with my laptop. It has two USB-C connectors. I use the first one to keep the laptop battery at 100 % or recharge it to 100 %. The other one I use to recharge my smartwatch.
Or you can use the wireless power sharing feature in newer samsung phones if you won't be using your phone for a while

brought mine today, Set it up tonight. 40 milimeter model - didn't get in all the reviews as with the a53 phone i brought a few days now. You a helpful woman nevertheless. Something cool getting the last in a store.

I upgraded from the Watch Active 2 and it's a huge leap forward. Wear OS and the Google app store provide so many more options and give you great versatility from the watch.
I went from the original Galaxy Watch (46mm) to a GW5. HUGE difference. However i like no bezel since I wear tighter sleeves and the bezel shreds em sometimes. 😆😅
What kinda cheap clothes are you wearing if a bezel on a galaxy watch wrecks them

I think for the time being there will be a lot of tech with incremental development. I think Samsung and Apple especially have been like that.
Mobile tech in a nutshell right now. The biggest leaps imo have been the folding phones. We'll see if they catch on and fix their durability issues.
They still haven't added a AQI sensor and that's just sad.
Does the watch support A52 and do I have to use the classical clock or can I set it into a watch for example it's like 02:47?

i am still using my Samsung Galaxy Gear Sport .
Still thinking should i upgrade or not.
I do like the bezel though but i think the touch sensitive bezel would make up for it.
So, like, I know some people aren't tech savvy but you CAN get the Samsung health monitor on a non-galaxy phone. There's a modified version that's been being updated for awhile, since the watch 4. It takes a small amount of technical know-how to get it working. But you can use the ECG and Blood Pressure sensors and get the Samsung health Monitor app without a galaxy phone, just for the record. A Google search into this will yield results. That's what I did. I bought this watch not knowing that out-of-the-box you need a galaxy phone to use those and so I was forced to find this workaround.

Can you please say more about how it is working with your Pixel? I don't like Samsung phones much and I don't have to access the ECG so is everything else working ok?
have had this watch for 4 days now, and I am using about 50% a day usage with it recharging in the morning while I shower. I have the LTE version and track my sleep. I haven't really used it a lot and I don't work out more than 30 min walk. I have the "always on" off and have it set to wake with my touch not gesture.
I'm literally doing the exact same thing.

What size you have?
In watch 4, the heart rate monitor always freeze or unable to read heart rate during exercise. I really wanna know if they fix this problem
That was an excellent review thank you for that, one question. Does the watch still protrude off of the edge of your wrist my Galaxy watch 4 44 mm sticks off my wrist a slight bit is the five a better fit?

@@jamesrexroat3842 definitely doesn't stick off my wrist like the old model it must be the shape is slightly different. So on either arm right or left let's just say your left arm right where your hand meets your wrist you're ulna the watch used to stick out leaving a large gap between the side of my wrist bone and flesh. I guess the new watch has a bit more curvature no weird Gap it's nice.
I had for 4 years the Samsung Galaxy Watch 2 and finally, I updated! I cannot wait to play with it!

My watch 4 is doing great I'm getting 2 1/2 days of battery life with heart rate monitoring constantly on an hour. Exercise workout with GPS on every day

Can we use google map in 40mm non lte version?
I was thinking of getting one but it lost me at having the charge every day. If you use it to track sleep and steps but have to constantly take it off the charge what is the point? 😮
With my previous experience with two other smartwatches I am very, very hesitant about getting another. One lasted a month and a half and the other only a month. I don't think they could tolerate the amount of sweat I produce or bouncing around in a commercial motor vehicle.

@@TheEduviz08, I can't recall right now the brands but I'm sticking with Timex as a wristwatch. I got my first one in 1960 as a birthday present. When my last Ironman died it was on its 5th battery. I had an analog one with a blue face that I wore most of the time I was on active duty. I found out that Casio and Bulova are not as durable.
Was looking for a comment like this, I was wondering the same thing since I work in a chemical plant and cattle farm. So always out in the elements and sweating or freezing.

My active 2 stop working 2 days ago thinking about buying this one
Support for the Active 2 is up soon and they offered a trade in of $75 so I decided it was time. Plus I HATE Bixby!!
I had the watch ctive 2 for 17 months...few issues i had were...
1)when I would play music on it on water proof mode in the shower...
2) when I would play music and use a timer it would overheat and turn off...
3) when I made calls it would overheat ans turn off...
4) finally it died when i was charging it while it was on im guessing it overheated...hopefully this watch 5 took care of those issues
I bought the active 2 in 2019 and I still wear it daily. The only problems I have are:
1. One of the health features wasn't unlocked in my country till last year, and when it was approved I realised one of the sensors wasn't working so I could not fix it for free.
2. I lost the sensor cover last year while clubbing, so I just bought a new one for 10€ and placed it in myself.
Other than that didn't have other issues, just felt like it is time to upgrade, but was dissapointed at the amount of black bezel surrounding the watch 5. If it were bezelles I would buy it instantly.
Do you need a Samsung phone for the ECG to work on the phone like on the Watch 4?... If it's in the video I missed it, sorry.
Yes, a few features require a Samsung phone to use.
Does it check blood pressure?
I wish you had commented on the vibration strength. None of the reviewers really seem to cover that and it was far too weak on the Galaxy Watch 4.
It’s about the same as the Watch 4 Classic. So it’s probably still too weak if that watch was for you!

IMO the vibration is annoying and I wish they would just remove it.
@@sadiegirl9100 "Nobody". That's a pretty bold insinuation. Do you have any data to back that up? Did you take a poll of all Galaxy Watch users? Did you conduct a peer-reviewed study? Are you somehow unable to fathom that some people might actually want to know when they get a notification on their watch? Ther's a reason the Apple Watch is so popular. It essentially taps your wrist when you get a notification. It's very pronounced, yet subtle. Perhaps do a little research before spouting off with inane claims.

I have had mine for 4 days now and have not missed a single notification. I don't have any prior experiance with prior watches but with this one you can chage the vibration pattern from 10+ patterns and it could be turned up in intensity too, mine is mid and I get them all. Hope this helps a bit mate.
What size are you wearing? I don't think you said in the video. Just that you were using Watch 4 40mm before which didn't last 24 hours.

Quite sad there is no Classic.
I didn't even care about the interaction or protection aspects of the Classic. It just looked so much nicer and classy.

Was waiting for 5 to switch to a matured Wearos watch - and that now backfired. Can't get 4 with buyback for 3 either anymore.
When humid the 1st version was imposible to navigate even with the smooth bezel cause it would slip but when they added ridges to the frontier it was very easy to grip so now taking that away is a step backwards🤔
Why doesn't any reviewer talk about the heating problem that that this watch has I bought it brand new the first day it came out and it overheated that same day 3 months later I bought it again thinking hoping they got it fixed same problem and every review I see no one talks about it

I might change to android coming from an iPhone 13 Pro user. I honestly hate that apple has more restrictions than Samsung it’s pretty lame. Android is more advanced than apple they take years to add things android had like the 120hz for example.

The point of roatating bezel is to interact without touching the display. So, when they get rid of it it doens;t makes any sense to simulate the rotating bezel. Just touch the damn display

can the 40mm Bluetooth version support 3rd party messaging apps such as WhatsApp and Snapchat? I want to know if I can receive notifications from my phone from these apps, send messages and start/receive calls from the watch itself
I don't use Snapchat, but yes. My 40mm Galaxy 5 Bluetooth supports WhatsApp and other messaging services from my Samsung phone.

Used fossil gen 3 gen4 gen 5 so i am happy with samsung galaxy watch 5 cannot complain about battery as fossil had the worst battery back up.
Mine is giving just 5 to 6 hours of battery . It is lte version ? What about hours
@@umendrarana no mine is watch 5 44m bt version but i can say it can go upto 20hours but i dnt use AOD stress and spo2 are set to manual whereas hr is in every 10 mins i keep only bt connected wifi nfc location off. Few more settings are here and there.

Can you take calls on your phone with this watch connected? I'd also like to know if I watch TH-cam can you choose to listen on your phone as usual? I tried a smart watch just to check it out and I couldn't do those things. If I turned off the call and audio in Bluetooth it only paid through the phone ear speaker. I do have a galaxy S22 plus and it's still in perfect condition. My phone carrier keeps offering me this watch free with a plan. Obviously the plan isn't free but it's only $5. I basically want a watch that tells time, has exercise stuff, check weather, and read my messages off of so I don't have to pull my phone out every time it goes off. I also wonder are all the faces more for women then men? I definitely didn't like any of the ones I seen on your watch.
I am answering my own question incase anyone else is also curious lol. Calls and videos automatically go to the device that you use at the time. So if you answer on your phone or watch that's the device that works also videos play the same way. I don't like using the watch for these things. Mostly because I don't want to bother people or have them listen in on my calls lol.
I would rate your review on this watch 9.1 out of 10. 👏
Didn't go for Watch 4 as was holding out on Watch 5 series due to larger battery size rumours, but due to the other specs being the same and no smaller size for the 5 Pro/lack of a nice looking, small watch size offering, that can still provide a long battery life whilst using GPS for most of a day for hiking; I'm skipping this generation and waiting to see what the Watch 6 series offers.

You are totally right. I choose for the watch 4 classic because of the bezel and cheaper price (because older). Watch5 is really not worth it.
@@jaimywieanders3613 It' may not be worth it going from 4 to 5 but I like what I'm seeing after using the Active2 for the last couple of years. Battery life is better, quick charging is a nice feature and the sapphire glass is also a cool uptick.

Good review perhaps stop mentioning pervious versions in this review and focus on the actual watch you are reviewing. Do a separate review for comparisons.
I was originally want to buy one but change my mind because Google translator app has been removed since Wear OS 4 released. I believe they plan to remove Google Assistant in the future too. I think they want to preserve those premiuem app for future products like google glasses 2 for example.

Took a call from my brother on the 4 while hiking in Yellowstone a few months ago.
Just bought the 4 classic last month at a discount. I love the watch, especially the physical ring to navigate the tiles. I knew the watch 5 was coming out soon, but I bought the watch 4 classic for less than $300. Over $400 for the watch 5 pro is too steep of a price for me.
u could of gotten the the regular galaxy watch 5 instead of the pro.

@@SiemReap2012 Battery life is ok. I have my watch connected to my phone 24/7. I have no problem getting through the entire day. I am a moderately active person at work (physical labor) and I exercise 30 to 60 minutes before or after work. I may have to stretch it to make it 1 1/2 days. A day for me works fine as this is my 1st smart watch and I charge it in the evening before going to bed or early in the morning for the full day.
I don't care about the price for things I use everyday, it's an investment that I'll enjoy every time I use it. Really wish they had a physical bezel on the 5... have you looked at other smartwatchez?

I'm returning my pixel watch to get this. I wish I didn't have to but if it wasn't for the battery life and maybe even size, I'd keep the Pixel watch. Maybe 2nd gen will take care of this problem
