- CROW vs ULDREN (THE FINALE) | Destiny 2 Season of the Haunted (Week 2) | Sever - Reconciliation
Eris Morn allows Crow another chance at severing the Nightmare of Uldren Sov. This time, feeling invigorated, Crow confronts his trauma in stride, and in one of the most beautiful pieces of story telling in Destiny to date, Crow finally puts Uldren to rest, and converts his nightmare to a memory, Uldren is now apart of Crow, and now he has the best parts of Uldren. Such an amazing character arc.

I like how Uldren's Nightmare became basically an Enlightening Memory.
Yeah also the detail that when uldren talks it isn’t the nightmare of uldren anymore it’s the memory of uldren
It's no longer the Uldren we knew, not so corrupted by the dark, and not controlled by Mara.
@@giannicarbonara7342 kinda like in House of Wolves, sassy
I suppose every character (Zavala, Caitl and maybe Eris) will have this moment, first struggling to accept their mistakes but in the end finding forgiveness and inner peace
Or a Daydream
Crow went from "You're not me!" to "I am thou and thou art I." within the span of a week.
I'm glad someone else made a connection to persona from this. I wonder what his persona would be?
I blasted “I’ll face myself” during the fight
@@marcuscersy2393 hahaha Robin Hood
@@marcuscersy2393 Loki, for sure
Crow has finally found balance within himself. He is finally at peace with both of his lives.
He fought his dark side, now he recovered his own memory of past, slightly, learning his mistake, and preventing going to wrong path... That's *Destiny*...
Probably, I made a quote...
if anything Destiny is about overthrowing destiny, Uldren's Destiny was to die a tragic fate, corrupted, Paracasual powers of the Light brought him back and literally gave him a second life, there was no prophecies fortelling that.
This is an intriguing idea for how Uldrens fate can become renewed in the form of Crows faith in himself.
There must be both dark and light.
I will do what I must to keep the balance,
as the balance is what holds all life.

There you go Crow.......you're on your way to becoming who you were meant to be
Let’s hope nothing blocks his path this time
@@R1F7149 there'll always be obstacles. But now he has us to help him and he's found peace within himself regarding his past life as Uldren Sov.
Damn Crow Really grow as a character. I can't really hate hims for killing cayde6 now... maybe
a little but he's come so far 🙂
I have a friend who still hates crow for having been uldren, and I can’t say I agree with him
From the getgo... since his resurrection, I knew they weren't the same people. That's how this whole "becoming a guardian and not being who you used to be" thing works. He got risen for a reason.. it just sucks that his former life's face is so damn recognizable.
I'm honestly sure that there are guardians that did much, much worse in their past lives. We just don't know who they were before.. and it sucks that it was Uldren that.. took Cayde from us..
5:41 that look you guys gave each other…like “hopefully” 😂😂
That was so perfectly timed I thought it was a cutscene
@@Pagan20-08 right 😂😂
I thought crow failed again when he was on his knees again I was like "GODAMMIT CROW!!"
Honestly, Bungie is absolutely killing it with the story and character development its got me hooked
I can’t wait to see Zavala’s equivalent of this, having to confront the nightmare of his love, the reason he’s so protective of everyone close to him, and why he never wants to take risks, it’s probably gonna be one of the only times we’ll see Zavala get emotional, hopefully.
Once Zavala makes peace, I wonder if he will recognize that even when you're overprotective, you can't save everyone. He'll become more bold and outgoing, a true commander, and not just someone who defends and hides in the Traveler's light. His world has been getting flipped and turned around a lot lately. Alliances with supposed enemy races, having to come to grips with the woman he loved, and now the realization that the Traveler can abandon us at any time and turn to someone more powerful/worthy. There will definitely be some solid character development for him by the time Lightfall comes out
It didnt go well in this season. In the final shape it goes worse
That sigh in the end, I think that's the first time he ever felt relieved after being welcomed to the tower. The first time he felt like he could actually breathe again, first steps always the hardest Crow, now you just got to keep walking. Don't worry were right behind ya
Nice parallel is Crow acknowledging Uldren wasn't always a villain, and wasnt the monster he had imagined in his head, as those around Crow acknowledge he isnt their memory of a prince killing Cayde.
Yeah I always found that annoying that even when he got the memories back that even when he got the memories back he was still believed that uldren Did what he did because he wanted to Even though he was controlled and manipulated by the witch Queen and the Wish dragon To commit those crimes and Mara Not doing anything to help her brother Before & After
I’m liking this villain arc story already.

I'll be honest, i thought this wouldn't happen until later in the season. Like after Zavala and Ciatal had there first round of interactions. then it would be week 4 where everything would start being resolved.
That being said i enjoy the story for Crow here. As he said "We all parts we wish weren't there. But acknowledging them can make us stronger." It hit hard for me as there are many things in my life I wish were different. However, looking back its because of those experiences that made me into the person I am today. Making mistakes and learning from them is what makes us human.
I feel like we will just see more action further down the line.
Like the first 2 weeks are about Us (aka the good side), and the rest will be exploring what actually happend to Calus and what he has done.
Oof that last line… funnily enough that’s also what Chief said in Halo Infinite
Oh boy, that makes me less ready to see what Zavala’s nightmare is themed of.
If you look at the Sever triumphs and their names, it looks like this’ll be the case with each character. Zavala will fail the first, succeed the second, and same with Caital the next two weeks.
I'm glad crows struggle arc is over. As fun as it was to watch him grow, it was nerve racking. Like a child with a grenade, always wondering if he's actually gonna turn into aldrin or kill someone. But no, he's finally found peace, and he can be a better man now
To be fair that hes still got that tendency to snap at any point cause all those memories being controlled and manipulated by the witch Queen and dragon has a direct impact on your very soul and your mental stabili'm being corrupted by the black garden can also do that to u
He did it… *he actually did it, Guardians!*
great ending and on top of that Crow pretty much volunteered to be the hunter vanguard.
He has to basically. Let's not forget that no one has told him at all about the hunter's dare yet.
He's gonna need Ace.

This is just the plot of persona in space and i am all for it
Crow showing some Persona vibes. Embracing the dark side of uldren and making it something new, stronger and hopeful. It’s good to see 😁
Definately got some confronting your shadow in mementos vibes.
play "I'll Face Myself" from P4 at the right moment. i swear, it fits perfectly.
Yeah def p4 vibes here
Also how Duality is literally us infiltrating Calus’ Palace and fighting his cognition of Caiatl
@@Melón-Chonk I did exactly that. It complimented it soooo damn well
I am thou and thou art I. Then Crow points his hand cannon to his head and shouts PERSONA
Crow just went through a Persona trip of emotion. Refusing their other self, ignoring them. Then fighting them causing a monster to appear, then accepting them, overcoming their fears and becoming stronger because of it.
Nightmare become a light ghost a memory
Seeing him finally defeat his nightmare was rather heartwarming in the moment. I'm proud of him. His little speech in the end gave me a little hope for him and myself in general.
Lol I loved that quick glance between you and your friend at the end! Really adds to the dramatic relief of the whole scene
Oh my god, he did it. I'm so proud of him 😭
I need uldrens outfit, that poncho is so badass
We need a Poncho and Cowboy hat. Cmon Bungie. We get handcannons with a wild west feel but no wild west gear
idk why but i felt happy for him during that scene
This. This is how we beat the Darkness.
This is a phenomenal fucking season, the narrative brilliance of splicer and an amazing gameplay loop
I like how the two guardians look at each other in the end.
The titan's slow turn killed me.
Poetic, emotional, internal moments like this is what defined Season of the Haunted’s storyline.
Dream of Uldren seems like a cool guy
Also i can imagine him heading to his ship crying with relief
"Dream of Uldren" I like the sound of that.
@@countlazuli8753 Remember older used to be a fun and cool dude before he went into the black garden and got corrupted and got corrupted even further by the witch Queen and the dragon
Strong persona 4 vibes.
Everything goes south as soon as he says "YOU'RE NOT ME"
and everything works out when he admits he is, indeed, him.
good writting overrall. This season's story beats are pretty good.
Even if the Nightmare, and later memory, was a remenent of past memories and trauma that took the form of his fears and regrets, this Nightmare was almost like the ghost of Uldren himself. Finally put to rest. So Crow can move on and mend Uldren’s mistakes. It was a bittersweet moment, seeing Uldren go, smiling to Crow as if to say, “you’re better then me”, and “hopefully, you’ll learn form my mistakes and live the life of the hero I could never become”.
He finally embraced it in a good way.
Having been reminded of Persona by this mission’s ending, and inspired by another comment I saw, I’m imagining, when we get to Caiatl facing the Nightmare of Ghaul behind her, it going kind of like what happened when Joker awakened his Persona. With the more violent, confrontational style from Persona 5’s awakenings, considering Caiatl’s place as Cabal Empress.
Imagine if somehow, in that mission, we’re with Caiatl and Crow, but then Calus calls out, surrounding us with Nightmares and taunting Caiatl to return to him, striking at her regret with Ghaul and losing their home planet, actually managing to hit her where it hurts.
Then, as Caiatl keeps resisting, she hears the Ghaul Nightmare in her head, urging her on to fight back. And then, she actually tears away the covering on her face, as it’s now hurting her, suffocating her from the Pyramid’s power. And when that happens…Ghaul emerges from her and reveals the Solar blade he had, blowing away the Nightmares and starting a new fight with Crow and Caiatl with us.
Come to think of it, I’m reminded of elements from all 3 recent Persona main games:
- Entering the eldrich Leviathan to hunt down and capture Nightmares = fighting Shadows in Tartarus in Persona 3
- Accepting traumas and flaws on oneself, changing shadowy selves to blue ones = Accepting Shadows in Persona 4
- The red and black of the Nightmares and the plot of the Duality Dungeon (going into Calus’s mind to steal his secrets) and that the Dungeon area can become a veiny ruined red and black = infiltrating Palaces/Mementos to steal Treasure in Persona 5
I love the life lessons Bungies teaching us in this season
Is like we need to forgive and acknowledging our past wether is good or bad, then we grow stronger....
I hope soon those who bully Crow will find enlightenment from both haters/players and NPCs
@@diegopasha5607 That may not be the case, regarding the bullies. Some of the things they say are psychotic, and worse than anything Uldren ever said. But I suppose it’s never too late for anyone.
@@diegopasha5607 enlightenment from my Ace of spades bullets
Whoo! Forge through that emotional labor, buddy!
Bungie pulled a Persona 4 on us this season.
May Crow now find the peace he deserves
0:17 assim como outras coisas que o Uldren já falou nessa temporada ao Crow, as vezes parece como quando "minha depressão fala comigo". Sempre tentando me deixar pra baixo.
I’m so proud, my little Crow has gained his wings and can finally soar😁
I was busy looking at what dropped for me and didn't notice crow placing his hand on the nightmare.
Who would have known that the Crown of Sorrow could be used for good like helping Crow find peace and a new purpose in life
Now this is a redemption arc. I'm sad to see this end, but I'm glad Crow found his peace.

Not sure, I had in my head when I was thinking about light and dark.
"THOU ART THEE ART THOU STICK YOUR HAND IN THE ULDREN DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT!!!!"
“I am thou, thou art I…”
It'll be interesting to know if the nightmares, and talks of using the very pyramid of nightmares, against the Witness may actually have some merit. Even if the witness is a very powerful almost deity level creature that does not necessarily mean it is without fear, doubt, or even nightmares of its own. Like the gods in our stories, the one thing always to bring them down tends to be their very fears and nightmares of things coming to pass, which only pushes them to have happen faster. Would be interesting indeed if someone would gain the power of the pyramid that holds nightmare and spreads them, only for it to turn on its creator because they grew a nightmare of their own. If I had to guess what the witness of the light and dark feared, it would be each other.
Despite the complaints about solar and the current pvp sandbox, this season is killing it in both the storytelling and weapon departments.
If this is the result going out of this season, then I am HYPE as HELL.
Yo, Eris, got time to take down Ikora's nightmare of Cayde?
*Ill Face My Self* jingles quietly
"Prince Crow" doesn't have the same ring to it...
Now, "Hunter Vanguard Crow"
can we have him as the hunter vanguard now?
in this episode of Persona 4...
"You're not me!"
I hope the crow becomes hunter vanguard
it must be weird for mara to hear both her dead brother and her living kind of brother talking at the same time
The "this entire temp could be skipped if the main cast went to terapy"
THAT’S MY BOY!!!!!
This whole interaction reminds me of persona 4
This is absolutely fantastic
I’m proud of crow
Crow becomes hunter vanguard next season? 👀👀
God I hope not
I expect the next season to FULL ON be about Crow owning up to the hunter's Dare. And the interactions between Zavala, ikora amanda and everyone in the city. I even wonder if there will be a specific quest we run as a result of doing another quest with crow. Thinking on it now, isn't Hawkmoon his weapon of choice? So many avenues to go through. But for now, I wonder if zavala is gonna be next or Caital.
Season of the Crow?
They need to wrap up other storylines before lightfall tho like the ana bray and Rasputin situation and maybe eramis becoming a disciple for the witness or even savathuns revival but that one might be kept for after lightfall or during it
@@nonosquare7728 most likely savathun on lightfall. Especially since she's messed with both light and darkness. It makes more sense for her to be in that next expansion. As for Rasputin, I would guess they'll make a season for him with ana bray before light fall due to the fact that she's been trying to make an exo body for it for the longest. As for eramis. I don't know. I don't see her really getting much more screen time.

So when does he get his persona?
What if that's the next Darkness subclass? Phantom/ Personas?
@@cybernurgle6413 I was actually thinking about that. I just imagined, what if, further on down the story, Crow reports that, in connecting further with Uldren, he’s starting to exhibit some…new abilities, Darkness ones. He then points out how we got Dark powers (Stasis, Deepsight) from a Pyramid, and the Nightmares were from a Pyramid as well. Hmm. 🤔 What if…?
And now that I think about it, in Shadowkeep, we got, what turns out to be our first meeting with the Witness, with the Witness appearing as a dark version of our Guardian. Hmm.
