MY UNCLE WAS A SMALL TOWN CITY ELECTRICIAN/LINEMAN AND WHENEVER HE WANTED OVERTIME PAY HE WOULD JUST WALK OUTSIDE WITH A .30-06 AND SHOOT AT THE LOCAL TRANSFORMER UNTIL THE STREET LOST POWER. Roger, I am a self employed plumber in central New York state since 2001. The first 6 years (full page y. Page add days) I had 9 plumber's working at the company. Since 2008 only myself and a apprentice. (I still profit around $185,000 yearly) how do I REGROW my business? Please help

Hey Roger, love your videos! I am starting a new plumbing service business in SW Florida. I could really use some advice on getting a customer base going. I have literally none at the moment so I am starting from the ground up. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you for all you do.
I have been in a profitable small plumbing business since 8/1/01. Profits never less than $185,000 per year. You need to ADVERTISE to get customer's. Advertising that gets the phone ringing is well WORTH THE money 👍. If no one knows you are selling Plumbing services how are you going to get calls?? Local newspaper, y. Page's (small affordable add at first) put a triple A in front of the name to get first page placement. And MOST IMPORTANTLY advertise on the INTERNET. In my area 11,000 people a month punch in "Plumber's Syracuse NY" and that is only for Google search engine. Use Google ADD WORDS at first for first page placement. A $2,000 a month advertising budget can get you 50k a month minimum in action. But most likely MUCH MORE. My first year in business I profited $245,000!!! I was a union Plumber making $43. A hour but I never made anything near $245,000 in a year. I was AMAZED on the $$$ I was making with just myself and a experienced apprentice who I did profit sharing with as a benefit. The Apprentice made $92,000 that year in 2001 with profit sharing and bonuses. He still says I am the best employer he ever had. Remember ADVERTISING!! Make 5,000 hi quality color flyer's and put them on car's at home depot, Lowe's, churches, home's where homeowners live, etc. Pennysavers also work great for tradesman. GOOD LUCK my friend and fellow Plumber 🙏👍👊 and remember there is $$ in Plumbing so the competition is FIERCE.
@@juliorosenberg9968 I live in Seattle and after being a plumber for 18 years. I decided to walk out and start my own company as well. I started in residential and worked my way up to doing multi story commercial building and boiler rooms. The pay was really good 180k a year. But starting a company was always on my bucket list so here I am. Question to you is . Do you bid out hourly or flat rate? If flat rate what system do u use if any? And if hourly do u ever have customers being nervous when u say u charge 150hr or whatever it may be. Thanks in advance
@@jacobanthony3260 hey jacob i started my plumbing company 2 months agao my father has owned a successful plumbing company for 20+years i believe flat rate is way to go and im personally not buying into any of these systems if its fixtures is 1,100 -1,200 a fixture rough in and what i do is calculate the amount of time me and my employe will take to complete the job im doing 165 a hr 125hr for me and 40 a hr for my employee and price up all the material through supply house, lowes or homedepot and provide it as a flat rate i add 25% ontop of material aswell and boom.
Soar Facebook community pages and putting well made bussiness cards at local bussiness has worked best for me.

That’s amazing advice. I love plumbing since I first started plumbing. I started as an apprentice in the early 90’s. I started in new construction houses and apartments. I earned my journeyman and became a sub. Then after 14 yrs 7 days a week 14-16hrs a day. Loved every hr but my body couldn’t any more. I discovered service industry. I just received my masters in November of 19. It starting great. I pulled my first permit. Let me tell you I was so excited and great full I pinched my self. I want to learn how to market. As a service technician I learned customer service that I was requested I never came home. I really want to learn and master the marketing part. I just started watching your videos. Any advice on seminars? Mentors? I have a google. Not sure if I’m doing it right?

The main rule of plumbing never use local parts in plumbing just keep original part
I do most of all but linkedIn is my major issue
My local community is not socially oriented
