- 5 years ago I made my first attempt at over wintering my precious chile plants as Bonchis and posted my how-to here on the channel. Unfortunately I made some mistakes that ended up costing me almost all my plants, and I learned a few lessons. This video is an improved method that will give you a much better chance at successfully creating your Bonchi AND keeping it alive until Spring!

thinking of doing this with my habanero. very well made video. thanks for sharing!!
Good info. My only addition is the introduction of a smart plug. I used one and it works a treat with the whole Alexa set up. No noise and pretty reliable
" I swear I'll post the updates this time guys" lol.
Fun video though I might be trying one of these this year come winter time.
I really appreciate this update! i've been looking into bonchi'ing my Carolina reaper which didn't fruit this year because of it being planted late.
Btw, I saw your 1st video on your 7 Pot bonchi just last week and to my surprise, you made an update thru this video. Hoping to learn more on how to turn my Reaper into Bonchi. 🌶
Great video! You mentioned that you've been doing this for several years now. Does that mean some of these bonchis are years old? I mean, have you used this method of over-wintering multiple times on the same plant?
I have one plant that is going into its third year, but no I haven't kept many that long. I've been living in apartments so it's not always feasible to keep a lot of plants, but now that I have a house I plan to keep some plants for many years!
Thanks for the video! I cut down one of my chili plants from last season that I'm planning to overwinter, this video had a lot of good ideas on how to keep it alive and growing. I live in an apartment so it will come in very handy to be able to make bonchis as I gather more and more plants.

Nice.sharing..
I don’t blame you. Those aphids are RUTHLESS!!!
I literally cringed when I saw you stick the shears, blades down, into the soil .. right after mentioning that they ought to not be so rusty ..
lmao gee, I wonder how they got so rusty
Haha whoops!
