The Fire Side of Hailfire Peaks is one of the most epic-looking levels to ever exist. The first time i got there, i just went into first-person view and looked around. Then i was knocked into the lava by a flaming gremlin. That pretty much sums up the whole level.
Oh, I'm not going to play it. I'm not suicidal. I just think it's pretty great to have a true 3d Kaizo Mario. Speaking of which, I'm making a Mario game with SMBX, and I might be including a cheat code called "Prepare for trouble, make this game's double", which is basically the same concept. It's because of you that I thought of it. It takes an already harder than usual game and makes the difficulty completely insane.
0:27 is such a creative transition! You just made the music that much more interesting with that little piece. Overall, this is a much better orchestral rendition and you're talking about a guy who really (and I mean REALLY) liked the prior version.
You know, I really like this, as well as your original piece. With the earlier remix we got a very cool rendition that sticks closer to the source material (for the more traditional crowd), and now we have this one that gets a bit more experimental. Also, I love the chorus you added in the background.
@BowserTheSecond I always thought that the Icy Side variation was lesser of the two arrangements. They focused extremely hard on the "make it sound like Winter and snow" aspect, that the piece lost the grandeur of scaling a huge, elemental mountain with a Dragon on top.
You set the bar so high there and in the rest of the song it's totally not featured, such a let down!! It's got a tribal funk feeling countermelody that is just amazing!! Literally new song material. I hope you read this

There's a little of the Ice Side in there. Listen closely at 0:52, you can hear the Ice Side's bells. They chime in again at 1:11. It's in there, barely, but it is there. There's some more around 1:40 ish
Fun fact: A place like Hailfire Peaks is theoretically possible on the planet Mercury. The temperature is hotter than Death Valley in the day and colder than the south pole at night, so Hailfire Peaks could happen right on the border between the two.

It is reminiscent of Gobi's Valley with the instrument/patch choices, then again, you meet up with Gobi in Hailfire Peaks again, so it makes logical sense.
I always imagined this side of Hailfire Peaks to be... sort of "Roman" if you know what i mean. And the way you remixed it... makes it sound even MORE "Roman!" Absolutely fantastic!

Yea, the fire side is like "I AM A HUGE EPIC MOUNTAIN AND YOU MUST BATTLE A LAVA DRAGON". The ice side is like "oh, yea there's a dragon up there."
I like the slight Egyptian noise...it reminds me of Gobi's Valley =D
