The one thing consistent across all Nier games is their fantastic OSTs, hands down some of the best OSTs in gaming.

It'll be fine. Honkai Impact 3rd's been pushing the limits of modern phones for a while now, and it's clear to see that most flagship phones can keep up with titles that could pass for PS3 games.
People complaining about it being for mobile and not about the multiple untranslated books and stage plays that are critical to the lore.

Almost all Drakengard\Nier side-materials are translated or at least summarized like NiER Drama CD. Majority of players don't know about the them though, or don't bother to read. But this is the 1st new original game in nier universe... aaand it's mobile, thus the reaction. But it's side project anyway, so I don't see big problem here. And seems like we'll get at least another awesome OST

@@danielijust8776 I always thought it's not a lie when they said humans have gone extinct. My theory is they're really on the moon but they fabricated the lie about them being extinct to fool both androids and machines in order to live peacefully on the moon. Otherwise, why would the information be kept inside the server where they wanted the machines to hack into in the first place? That just screamed "Please machines! Please find out the truth that humans are extinct!"

This is like a triple A game on mobile like square enix's chaos rings series that was so amazing why did square enix stop making those kind of games anyways
Presumably, because freemium games are so much more profitable.
Also, I once saw a GDC talk in which an indie dev mentioned that people are willing to spend way less money on a regular "buy-to-play" mobile game compared to a PC game, (they had to charge about half as much money for the mobile version of their title compared to Steam, despite it being pretty much exactly the same game.)
So... Combine most players unwillingness to spend much money upfront on a mobile title, with some "whale" players willing to spend thousands of dollars gambling on freemium games, (plus, I imagine that the development costs of a full-fledged RPG like the Chaos Rings series are higher than what they can get away with on a "free" game") and there isn't much monetary incentive to release a game like Chaos Rings on mobile nowadays.
And I doubt this will change much unless the law starts cracking down harder on gambling mechanics.
Well, at least the bar is being raised for mobile freemium games. With stuff like Genshin Impact and Gran Saga on the horizon, it will probably be more difficult to keep players' attention with Skinner Box Simulator 2020.

@@weirded1948 We certainly have phones but this type of game is not made to be played with touch on a little screen (furthermore if you have big fingers) and it's not immersive at all. Fortunately, there exists emulators and key mapping to play it on PC at 60fps in a big screen.

It's pretty and all but I'm not some sucker who gets sold on pretty pictures and songs, I need something showing me what this game can really do.

I wouldn't worry about the masterpiece part. Yoko Taro doesn't discriminate, his mobile work is just as good as the rest of it, sometimes the only pity is that the gameplay needs to be a little reduced :/

Nah i bet this is just to show how game is going to look like, but the actual gameplay is most likely going to he the same as Nier replicant/gestalt, with battles and monologues

NieR is NieR. Its a small drop in a sea of oversaturated games like cod and fifa taking the limelight and getting an unfair amount of sequels. NieR series has so little consumable content by comparison that im honestly just happy to know the series is still alive and getting something new.

As much as people bash the mobile market, there is really a grand way on seeing what it can do to the future of any form of media. Like Valve with Half Life: Alyx, revolutionizing a platform when it's already underutilized is so amazing. Hope NieR: Reincarnation is the Half Life: Alyx of mobile games

Actually, Mihoyo doesn't need it. The story is already dark enough. I mean in Gun Girl Z (I think it's the prequel to HI3) ends up with the villain killing everyone and destroying the world.

@@rodrigobogado8756 Death Stranding is an engaging 50 hours long open world action game with tons of devices, vehicles and weapons. Only those who never played it call it a "walking simulator". It is as much a walking simulator as Skyrim or GTA, where you (surprise!) also have to traverse between point A and point B.

The aesthetics looks very NieR 1. Is this a mid prequel to current NieR Automata? Also seems to be easily worth as main platforms game (still based on the looks alone though).

New phones and ipads are as powerful as a console. An ipad pro is literally more powerful than a PS4 in multiplatform games. What exactly is wrong with "smart phone"?

@@tvlivingroom6626 They should, because iPhone 11 is equal to Xbox One in terms of calculating power, and iPad Pro 2018 is within the PS4 realm.
For example, iPad Pro runs Fortnite at higher settings than PS4... and at 120 fps. It also runs Genshin Impact at 60 fps max settings, whereas PS4 runs it at 30 fps medium :(
@@Slaveknight_gael I mean he GPU in the phone are build very differently than the PC GPU so we can't really tell by just comparing it to fortnite. Plus the mobile ver. of fortnite is build and optimize specially for the mobile GPU so I have no doubt that it can run better than the base ps4.
