    ***SIZING UPDATE***
    Ordered a Size 25 in the Ribcage in the Lose Your Marbles Light Wash and they are comfortable (keeping them)! Definitely don't feel as tight as the Tango Light Wash which I'm wearing in this video. In the video I'm wearing a 24, but I did order a 25 in the Tango Light Wash as well and it was still much tighter in the waist than the 25 in the Lose Your Marbles Light Wash.
    Just more evidence that Levi's sizing is a huge pain and inconsistent, even within the same STYLE in different WASHES. Always order more than 1 size for any purchase to get the right fit. Good luck!

      @catherineostrom7575 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      If you order more than one size, then you have to pay return shipping, which I don't like. Wish I could find all the styles in a store. Then just take different sizes into the dressing room. That doesn't happen these days. Was going to go to a Levis store but discovered they didn't have ANY of the styles I wanted to try in stock. Supply chain issues? They've discontinued my tried and true style that I've worn for years.

    Hi! I've worked for Levi's for about 2 years. You're video was so accurate and thats exactly what I explain to customers. My favorite fit is the ribcage even though you said you didn't like it lol (the color georgie is so popular and the best one hehe). Also sizing is so inconsistent. But recently most jeans I'm purchasing are all my true size. But the jeans stretch out a LOT. So i like to buy mine snug and over time they stretch. Another newer one not mentioned is the High loose thats super high rise and super roomy in the legs and its the perfect 90's look (-:

    My husband wears a 36 inch inseam and has actually called customer service about the sizing issue. He was told they have up to an inch variance that are acceptable for their QA process. His mother worked for wrangler/lee for years and they have a much smaller variance. So he always measures before buying because he needs that full 36 inch inseam.

    I think the Wedgie look the best on you!! I've never tried on the Ribcage but for the 501's, I find they lose their shape, making it not so flattering after a while!! But the wedgie hold up very nicely and if they loosen up, they conform to your body nicely!!!
    Also, you should try the Wedgie Icon!! It's a more tapered look while still being relaxed!

    • @mejulialee
      @mejulialee  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thank you!! Now that you mention that I am noticing the 501s are loosening quite a bit - I haven’t washed them in a while though either, hopefully they don’t lose too much shape! That or I’ll have to grow my butt to fill them in haha. I haven’t worn the wedgies as much but good to hear they hold shape and conform nicely. Thanks for the suggestion, I’ll check those out! 💕

    I definitely agree with your point about comfort over style. As much as I love the look of the ribcage on me when I'm wearing it, its definitely not comfortable to wear all day. My go to Jeans for running errands is either my 501s or my wedgie jeans.

    • @marise-cellardoor2031
      @marise-cellardoor2031 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it depends on body type - specifically where your hipbones lie. I can fall asleep in a pair of ribcage (and embarrassingly that is no joke) - literally lounging in a pair now 😂 The corduroy pair in particular are the most comfortable jeans I have ever owned. But my hip bones are quite high so ultra high rise is the only type that I have found truly comfortable on me

  • @winnielay4477
    @winnielay4477 4 ปีที่แล้ว +12

    the ribcage jeans are uncomfortable at first but since they are 99% cotton and 1% elastane, they’re a bit stretchy and the more you wear them the looser they get and fit your body more, which is why i recommend staying true to your size for most levi’s jeans.

  • @runqihu9698

    Best video of this kind I have watched so far! Thanks for the details of all the measurements and side by side try-ons. They are so informative and I just purchased my first 501 original crop online in size 24. They are very comfortable and they totally have the straight leg look, I love it!
    My measurements are: waist 24-25 inches, hips 33 inches, thigh 17 inches. I usually wear 24 or 25 in Levi's so my tolerance for tightness is probably very small.. for Ribcage I was even thinking about size 26. Guess I will have to try them on because of their inconsistency in sizing.

    I agree, I had 2 pairs of Wedgie's. The bigger pair did nothing for my petite figure, I sold them. The smaller pair, although they look nice, smush my booty and squeeze my thighs. I'm a skinny jean girl but the look is starting to bore me. I'm afraid to be to adventurous with expensive jeans and refuse to purchase cheap ones. Woe is me .

    Omg your video is so cool and well structured, and I've been looking for a vid comparing these 3 hot favs of levis!! :) also just to share an opinion and to help other ladies here with sizing (no hate!!) I think you need to size up in both the wedgie and the ribcage if you wish to achieve the look on the models. Of course if you like the tighter look, you do you girl! The levis size guide is generally quite accurate and a waist 26" hips 36" places you exactly at size 26 (I have the same measurements and that's my size for the ribcage jeans) so you might want to give the ribcage jeans a go again in sz 26 cos in the right size they're actly rly comfortable!

    • @mejulialee
      @mejulialee  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you 😊 and thanks for the second opinion! In terms of the Wedgie and my experience with other styles, I think the fit is still really dependent on the material composition and your body proportions! The Wedgie Straight in the video are 99% cotton and 1% elastane, I can pull the back and I have a bit of space - so a size up would have been too big on the waist. I also have a pair of Wedgie Icons that are 100% cotton and a size 24. The waist measurement is 26” and they’ve always had a gap in the back that makes the waist comfortable - very tight on bum and upper thigh when I first got them, but already starting to stretch to start to take shape of my body. I just returned a 25 in another 100% cotton Wedgie Straight (thinner material) which fit my thighs and bum, but had a gaping space in the back of my waist. I measured and it was a 30” waist!! I think with the Ribcage jeans I could try a 26 because the waist measurements are on the smaller end, but honestly I’ve never needed to size up to a 26 waist otherwise to get the right waist fit. For the Wedgie I know a 26 would for sure be too big on the waist and probably loose on the bum, and I also know that the jeans have a break in period and with wear, will shape and stretch about 1”-1.5” (see this article: www.google.com/amp/s/www.glamour.com/story/trend-alert-non-stretch-jeans/amp). My experience with Levi’s has been that the waist measurements of the same size are different, and different styles and materials also can fit quite differently on different body proportions! I know I can’t achieve model fit because the models are tall and thin and I’m short and muscular. And then there’s personal preference on fit as you mentioned! The real struggle is that no jeans are one-size-fits-all as there are so many different variables! This is why I say it’s tough to give sizing advice as everyone will have a different experience, and I think it’s best to try on/order a variety of sizes to see which fits best 🙂

      @starrymilkshake 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mejulialee thank you dear for sharing your experiences in so much detail!! Wow I never knew that levis sizing for even the same style can vary so much, and ok I'm certainly wrong on the wedgies then!! In fact, if I ever get a pair of wedgies I think I'll size down based on what you've shared. 😊 you certainly look great in that pair of wedgies btw, I only commented you may need to size up because you mentioned it felt tight on your thighs.

    Because the Ribcage line is so high waisted they usually sit at the smallest part of the waist (depending on body type) which is why you typically need to size down a size or two.
    Personally, as a slim pear shaped girl (and mom of 3 lol) the Ribcage are my favorite.

    So interesting since my waist is 24.5 inches and hips are 36.8 inches and the 24 ribcages fits nicely. I feel like ribcages are more flattering/fit better with people that have a smaller waist than hip area so a pear shape and hour glass. While the 501's and wedgie looks nicer and fits better on straight body types and I versed triangle body types

    So glad I found you. I’m also thin and petite and needed this! I have 33” hips, 23.5” waist and 30” bust so being thin and narrow I find myself in the kid’s section often, but being 5’3 (which is short) is tall for kids so rompers and pants in kids fit me size wise but are often 1-2” too short ugh. Levis 24” waist jeans usually fit, but the relaxed or those bf jeans are too big always sadly

    • @mejulialee
      @mejulialee  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah that's tough (although it sounds like you have a nice hourglass figure)! I actually recently remembered that my best fitting athletic pants are kids size haha. 5'3 isn't too short! Look for cropped styles of jeans/pants they usually work for me at 5'1 😊

    I still dont feel the difference between 501 crop & wedgie straight in terms of fit. Do you think they are quite similar?

    • @mejulialee
      @mejulialee  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The fit is similar since they are both straight leg styles, but as I mentioned the 501 Cropped do fit looser overall whereas the Wedgie Straight are a bit more fitted and you’ll only notice this with consistent wear. I’m sure whether you feel a difference or not will also depend on your body shape and size as well!

    501s you go small and stretch them but the stretch versions come loose. Original Stretch to fit is the best looking in any cut. Just any jeans that cram in your junk look bad. They just look bad and it's a style that is a passing fad.

      Thanks Nazrin 😊! The only 501s I have all have stretch to them and they do stretch out and loosen! My 501 Stretch Skinny jeans are a 25 and my 501 Original Cropped are a 24 - both are 99% cotton and 1% elastane, and both have stretched. Even though they are different waist sizes they fit and feel the same (same rise)... so unfortunately another inconsistency with Levi’s sizing. Good luck!

    Hi I wanted to ask because I really want to buy their ribcage jeans (I’m from Europe so it’s harder to get them here) but I have kinda curvy body shape. My measurements are: 25’5 inches (65 cm) waist, 39’3 inches (100 cm) hips, around 22 inches (56 cm) thighs so idk what size shall I choose. I don’t want them to be super thigh in my thighs and butt.Can anyone pls help me?

    I just bought the Levi's Ribcage straight leg, coz in another video of someone else they said for my bodytype a highrise would look best on me, and well the ribcage is about as high waisted as you can go. I was so enthousiastic to try them on after watching a ton of videos about it, but was dissapointed in the end. It makes my butt (that I really do have)look long and flat like a pancake. Not only that, even though it's a straight leg, it felt more like a wide leg (even though I do have thighs). Very dissapointing, but lucky I bought it in sale 😔

    awesome and useful vid! I'm thrifting as we speak, and flipping thru lots of these vids and omg, you're the closest to my measurements, esp the waist, which I find is rare to find --yay, instant subscribe! I'm 5'3, but that's basically the same lol, still smack in 'petiteland', but like you, I'm thin/fit, but don't have the tiniest waist, I'm more 'straight/boyish/'athletic' build. ppl often expects me to have like some 22-24 inch actual waist (and lots of other clothes/dresses, skirts, etc, so frustrting when they fit everywhere else), but nope, it's exactly yours, 26-27! we just make it look smaller/ more hourglassy 'in' thanks to fit and accentuating the butt, etc.which you do super well btw..you look like you have a tiny 22" waist in all 3 of these! :)

    I think the ribcage make a very good butt shape, I decided personally to get a very big wrangler like 5 sizes up and bring them to the tailor. I love the levis slim fit with extra tummy room but I opt for loose fit around the hips and thighs, I really looked around a lot for a levis fit but on the german website they have no normal 501 which I remember to be roomy. All they have are these tight trousers with more thinner fabric and a lot of stretch, so I step down from the levis train and leave my butt alone!

    I definitely think the 501's have the best construction. One thing I'm very picky about is the how the button fly lays and when I had a pair of wedgies, the fly would weirdly get misshapen and not stay flat after standing up. I will also say that the ribcage also has a weird construction of the fly area, because it's just so long and so it can lay funny.
