Wall paneling can TRANSFORM your space. EASY DIY no saw no nails!

This is my second time doing it, I am NOT a professional or a handywoman - so if I can do it, you can too. In this video I explain like you're 5, and walk you through step-by-step, in detail, exactly how to do this from start to finish. I'm already excited for you... let's get started!

    I adopted a rescue dog fom Hungary a few years back. He was with me for 3 days and then one day I came home and found him dead in my apartment. He had epilepsy and no one told me that he was sick. Could be possible that no one even knew that he had epilepsy but it was a very traumatic thing to witness. Especially when he was my first ever pet. I've been thinking of getting another rescue (bc I do think it's important to help dogs in need) but I'm scared something like this will happen again. He was only a one year old, very kind and very well behaved even though he had been through a lot in Hungary... rest in peace Arthur.

    Thank you so much for this video! I’m similarly 2a, maybe a bit of 2b, but also! So awesome to see someone with a similar background and hair texture to my own share their experience and advice for bringing out their natural wave. So many curly girl videos I’ve seen are made by women with finer and/or curlier hair qualities then me and their advice never seems quite right for my hair. I also love your commitment to affordable grocery store aisle brands as a starting point. I’ve found Shea Moisture to be a great beginner shampoo/conditioner too, and I plan to check out their leave conditioner as well now based on your vid. And finally, your cardboard kitty condo is rad! Definite inspo for my Maine Coon boy.

    Do you use the low porosity shea moisture shampoo for every wash? I’ve heard it’s a clarifying shampoo and was wondering if I could use it 2 times a week.

    • @mejulialee
      @mejulialee 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I was, but I'm not sure it's good for my hair as I also saw it's a clarifying shampoo! I think your hair type and how much product you use will determine how often you should clarify - another thing to experiment with. I'm going to be trying out Prose next and will report back!🤞

    I'm much wavier than you (2c-3a), and I can't use sulphate/silicone free shampoo. It makes my hair stringy and I find it unsustainable, lots of buildup that requires clarifying all the time. Thought I'd share my experience!

    I’m so happy this video came up in my feed! My hair is so weird. I’ve always had what we call “self-fall” in my language, it twists at the ends and looks a bit hippie-ish 😂 but it turns out with certain shampoo and conditioners I can get pretty damn good waves if I scrunch it after washing. However, if I use sulfate and silicone free stuff it looks like shit 😅

      I wash my hair every 2-4 days, depending on how active and sweaty I've been. When I shower without washing my hair, I just tie it in a high bun! And on those days I do a simple refresh routine for my waves.

    Out of all videos I've watched this is the one that makes the most sense. Half of my hair gets wavy and another half barely holds anything no matter what and usually just straightens up really fast. But people keep telling me that my hair is curly 🤦‍♀So as you said "the question is, do you actually have enough wave to wear it wavy?'. Tho I do have some waviness, I'm not sure if it's enough to even try wearing it wavy. But then it's never completely straight either... Hell of a situation Great and very refreshing video, thanks a lot! :)

    • @elisa9041
      @elisa9041 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Same here. Had curly hair as a child and it used to be really wavy, curly even when I had a long bob (my shorter face framing bits still are) but I've been growing it out past my chest and just wearing it straight/blown out bc it's not wavy enough anymore. But what I love about it is it's so versatile. It holds heatless curls/blowouts so well, usually lasts until I wash it again. With a bit of work you can definitely make it look more wavy. And it's also easily straightened without much heat. As annoying as it can be, it does have its perks!

    • @Nubesyxochis

    I think you have more 1c hair than 2A I

    • @mejulialee
      @mejulialee 23 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I've done quite a bit of research on this and my hair is likely a mix of 2A and 1C. 1C belongs in the straight hair category - it air dries straight with a few bends here and there. 2A is the least wavy of the wavy hair category and it air dries as beach waves - which is what my hair resembles most. Noting that I'm also at the very beginning of my wavy hair journey, and waves tend to become more defined as your hair gets healthier. I also have a couple coiled pieces at the back of my head depending on how much effort I put into styling. Ultimately I don't think it's all that important to box yourself into a specific category - most people rarely perfectly fall into a single hair type and hair tends to be a mix of a few similar hair types. No one needs to justify their hair type to anyone - what's actually important is simply understanding how to care for your hair the way that works best for you and gives you your desired results. My intention is to help and encourage others who have a similar hair type as me - which folks can recognize visually.

The first time I literally combed through my hair cause I didn't know you weren't supposed to dry comb/brush your hair 😭. And today was the second wash and I realise I destroyed my curls by combing through it with my fingers cause I though that's how you scrunch out the gel cast , I also realised just how much I just keep touching my hair and just need to stop lol ! And also needed more leave in product. Your video is so authentic and is making me relax a bit more and trust the process too ! Your waves look super gorgeous ! 💗

    Your hair looks gorgeous! I could clearly see the progress. I bet it will get more wavy because I started last year in June and as the months go you see the progress. And my hair was extremely damaged. So I’m pretty sure you are going to get more and more texture. About the color, since you asked, I’d say, girl your hair color is beautiful. I myself would not do anything but if you get highlights maybe the one with no bleach would look beautiful too.

    I enjoyed this so much. It gave me the perspective i needed. i have been trying to find a way to approach a long term friendship that was for years a romantic relationship. When we met we were both at stages in our lives where we were still finding ourselves. I was a few years into recovery from addiction and was still emotionally immature and unclear about what i wanted for my future. She was attempting to find love but was extremely emotionally damaged by a toxic and mentally abusive relationship with her mother. We met at a time where we were both needy and very ill prepared for any kind of healthy relationship. This however, seemed to strengthen the attraction/attachment. What we felt was love was a toxic need to escape our discomfort with ourselves and our unresolved issues. For years on and off we shared what felt like the most passionate, intimate, vulnerable, toxic and never ending relationship. We were the perfect temporary fix for each other. We wasted so many years running from ourselves. Eventually causing more harm to ourselves and each other. Our slight age difference was the only thing that eventually caused us to pause long enough to consider that we had come to a turning point in the relationship. We decided to just be friends. The dynamic of the platonic relationship is much like the romantic one. Expectations and blurred boundaries. I feel like i need to completely end the friendship in order to move on with my life. i have spent over 20 years chasing my tail and i realize how little time i have left to explore life in a healthier way. i’m disappointed that i allowed myself to waste so much time. i care about her and i know how much she depends on my support in her life. I have a network of friends and people that will walk me through this. She on the hand, does not. i’m grieving everyday because i have already started making changes in the amount of time i allow myself to give talking to her. i stopped committing to anything or making plans to do anything. When we talk i can hear the disappointment in her voice. i also hear my life calling me. It hurts but i can’t save her. I feel lost too in some ways but i know that the path i need to take is in the opposite direction.

      Also I've been using keratin shampoo, conditioner and mask for years, do I need some sort of cleansing/detox shampoo method before I try to change my hair to my natural wave?

    So does your hair stay curly after you train it to be curly? I’m now just discovering about this process. I have VERY straight hair and i don’t like to spend too much time doing my hair daily, jf if I do this, will my hair stay curly like yours at the end of the video? If so how long does it stay like that without keep having to upkeep

      You can't "train" your hair. It's impossible to train hair. Your hair does what it wants unless something else makes it perform differently. So if one has wavy hair, it's always wavy. Repeated disruption of a curl pattern doesn't destroy it, either. What we do when we blow our hair out is different than what we do when we encourage the waves. We add more product or different product, we diffuse instead of direct heat with a brush. Doing this repeatedly over time, say if we're encouraging our natural hair pattern, we would cause less heat damage because of those factors, if that makes sense. I've blown my hair out straight for decades, and in that time th front of my hair has yet to "learn" to stay off my face, no matter what I do. But if I let it go curly, it miraculously stays off my face. Why? Because it's doing what makes it happy, which is wavy curly. Even loaded with products, it never falls into my face. If your curls and waves aren't behaving right away, but a month or two jnto your curl journey it suddenly looks "better" it's not because you've trained them, it's because you're likely hydrating a lot of damage (though in truth only a cut removes damage and nothing "heals" it). Hair is like kids--its happier when it gets to do what it wants to do. Cuts don't encourage curl patterns either, it simply shortens the strands and changes the overall look and shape of our style when it's done. So if you don't typically wear layers, adding layers wonr make your curls tighter, it just makes then shorter strands. I hate CGM, especially when it helped create this superiority complex in their devotees that wavys aren't curlies. Everyone has different curl patterns, but it's all curls. Use what works for you. It's trial and error, but you'll find it. If your curls fall flat at the end of the day, try a firmer gel. If your hair feels crispy, try adding a curl cream. Youl figure it out.
