This worked great! I’ve been going to all the sites trying to find the right code and man that sucked nothing was working. First try this worked! I did go to fast so has to do it a second time and press the channel buttons slower, but perfect on that try. Thank you!!! Wish I’d come here first lol

Hi Brent,
Sometimes you have to go through the process a couple times to program all the functions. Not all TVs will program fully though but the majority should.

Hello Jen, to program volume hold the Sat button until the lights flash 3 times.
Then press 9-9-3
Then press the TV button on the top of the remote and it should flash another x2.
The volume control should now work for the TV.

Try reprogramming the remote again I had the same issue where I was pressing the channel + button a little too fast and was able to get the remote working again. After I got it programmed I could control the volume no problem

K well I did this on one of my tv and worked like a charm. The other tv however guess I was to fast on the ch+ button. How do I reset the remote to try it again?? Thank You!!

You will just have to do the same process over again and it will program when it finds the correct code. No reset needed.

Went through the routine, tv turned off then back on, but then doesn't work again?
I followed these instructions and it worked but I cannot turn the tv back on with my Shaw direct remote. I have a Samsung smart tv
Hmmm try pushing and holding the TV button until all top lights flash and punch in 10812 on your key pad then push TV button again once and try the power button after that. This should allow you to turn it on and off plus use the volume, etc for most Samsung TVs. Let me know if this works for you :)

Hello Mau, most JVC's we've been able to program. Check out the manual if you have it to try manually coding the remote, if you don't have the manual then you can get the pdf from Shaw Directs website. Thank for watching!
Anyway to reset or unlock the codes. ?The volume doesn't show on tv .tried all steps below and still won't work.
That’s fine to turn tv off and on but I’m trying to program volume in and nothing will work. I follow instructions with remote and does not work. So frustrating.
Problem with step 1 when I press the tv button the stat button lights up not the tv button
How do you reconnect ur remote to your server so you can change the channels
Turn the receiver on, after that you push and hold the SAT button on your remote until all the top buttons flash. Once they flash you can punch in any 3 digit code from 000-009. Once a 3 digit code has been entered you will then push the ok button. This should reprogram your remote to the receiver.
everything works except the volume display doesn't show up on the TV. it was working before then all of a sudden it was not showing up .

Not all TV’s program to the SD remotes…RCA was one we have had trouble with programming, it will only do some functions not all.
Using the TV remote along with the Shaw remote is the only alternative
it doesn’t work once the tv goes off, any help or tips?
actually hold that, i didn’t realize i had to go slow when pressing the channel button. my dumb ass was spamming tf out of if it. it works now, thanks for the video!

If you’re referring to programming the Shaw Direct remote to your TV; then you will push and hold the TV button for a couple of seconds, upon release all the top buttons should light up and you can then begin punching in your codes for your specific brand. Hope this helps.
@@AllMediaServices1 Yeah. Nothing happens. I press and hold the tv button and they are supposed to light up and flash but zip happens. Fortunately I had a backup remote and I'm using that one. Thx for the reply. ;)
Ahh I see! Glad you have a backup remote. We’ve seen a few cases where the remote won’t perform it’s programmed functions from the factory.

Hello Janet, the ShawDirect remotes will not program to all TV’s. Some brands just don’t recognize the remote. What brand of TV are you using?
@@AllMediaServices1 it's a legend. I found a pdf for a code for it but I'm to chicken to try it. Incase the TV doesn't turn back on.

Tv remote lights are not flashing after holding the tv button down for a few seconds
Hmmm that does happen the odd time with some of these remotes where it doesn’t perform the function it’s supposed to when you push and hold the TV button. Try holding it for a longer period of time 15-20 seconds and see if that makes a difference. If not then try some fresh batteries (if you haven’t already) as you may see some lights but not full functionality with low batteries.

Depending on the brand of your TV it may not program to your Shaw Direct remote. As an example a lot of the RCA TVs will not accept the programming.
I can’t change sources
This is probably due to the model of tv that you have. there are some brands that have trouble with the source function. What brand of tv do you have ?

Electronics are nothing but a pain. Keep it simple as I am very uninformed about such b.s. The up and comers find it easy but I sure don't. I am a senior who have had no training in the nonasense and to speak to me in these terms is like speaking Russianian to someone total English speaking!!
