  • Doing a quick hydraulic update on the Eastonmade 12-22. Went to a local hydraulic shop to get the hose and fittings. This is a preventative measure to protect the cooler.

    Wow.. I think this update was what Andrew and his team discovered after they took my 12-22 back to figure out..I blew the cooler twice.. 1st time he overnighted a new cooler the second time he wanted to replace the whole machine but I decided to switch to the Axis because I had a processor coming and figured the Axis wood be more useful than the 12-22..

      Very well could be! Can't beat that service eh? Now most of the fluid will bypass the cooler, but looks like it should still push enough through the cooler to keep temps down, we will see this coming summer.

    Great video. I also have a 12-22 but a newer version so it looks like I don’t need the update. Will you show a video when you replace the hydraulic intake filter. Thx again!

      Thank you! And are you referring to the cartridge filter on top of the tank?

    • @trailjunkie896
      @trailjunkie896 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes the cartridge within the tank

    • @earthandbloom
      @earthandbloom  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I sure can! It is quite simple, three bolts, remove the lid, and replace the cartridge. Though these don't need to be replaced often, unless the system got contaminated.

    Good stuff man! Currently looking at splitters to replace our 27-ton craftsman. How has the 12-22 held up for you so far?

      I really enjoy running it. Gotta keep an eye on maintenance and parts, as with any hight output machine. You'll be blown away coming from a box store machine.

    I guess I missed it. Could you provide more detail as to why you are doing this mod? You mentioned that it is to avoid having to replace the cooler. What's the problem? Why are some failing? Which 12-22's are affected? I noticed some 12-22's run bigger radiators, but never really heard why.

    • @earthandbloom
      @earthandbloom  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think it's of there's any pressure on the back stroke. The coolers are rated for 250psi. You won't see any pressure on the back stroke u less something gets caught, causing the ram to work. I believe that is why. I think all 12-22s with a cooler should be updated.
      I think they upgraded the cooler to a different one a few years back.

    I assume this is an upgrade to older machines that's built into current production?

    • @earthandbloom
      @earthandbloom  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes I would assume all newly built machines would be updated from factory.

    Great video brother did Eastonmade want you to do the upgrade or did you do this yourself 👍👍🇺🇸

      I seen a comment about the email, so I asked about it. Must not be a very big problem because its not publicly announced from what I could find. I though the cooler should have a bypass when I first got the unit, but never did have a Issue. But i also didn't want to risk having an issue for only $125.

      I would assume all new machines have it, this update was released December. Your going to love it! Definitely changes the game.

    So did Eastonmade contact you about this fix? Why would you have to buy anything if it is an update they are asking you to make?

    • @earthandbloom

      Definitely would be nice, but I'm happy that they let us know there's a problem at least and gave us a fix. If it was a $1000 fix then there might be more of a fight. But if $125 saves me expensive downtime, I'm happy to pay that.

      @@earthandbloom I haven’t had any problems with mine but went on and did the update took 5 minutes max. These machines are awesome. I had a guy come by one day that didn’t think what I was telling him about how fast they are and after 2 hours and 2 1/2 cords later him was impressed.

    • @earthandbloom
      @earthandbloom  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It must not be a serious update maybe. I didn't want to risk it for only $125 of parts. And we didn't have to wait for parts to come in the mail, our shop had it all in stock.
