“A small percentage (less than 15% of a graduating batch) of the students go abroad for higher studies. Others stay back,” said IIT-Guwahati director Gautam Biswas 03-Dec-2021
Grass Is Greener on the Other Side: Return Migration of Indian Engineers and Scientists in Academia This article focuses on why academic engineers and scientists from developing countries leave developed countries to return to their countries of birth. Data for this study comes from a National Science Foundation-funded study with 83 engineers and scientists who returned to India after study and work in U.S. universities. Better career prospects in India namely ample funding available for research, less competition for grants, ability to work on theoretical topics, and freedom in research objectives emerged as the key factors that prompted return. These findings, therefore, differ with return migration of industrial engineers and scientists who moved back primarily to start companies in India and immigration challenges in the United States. With very little scholarly work on return migration of academic engineers and scientists, this study expands the understanding of high skilled migration in a globalized world. Global DE-DOLLARIZATION. BRICS to kick out US dollar, use national currencies instead>petro-dollar will cease>interests on loans in ths US will touch 11 %... soon US will become another EUROPE with 1% GDP growth.... @@DurgaPrasad-oq1uu now IITs graduate about 20000 - true not even 20% (around 4000) of them go abroad for higher studies or jobs - but around 125000 go to usa alone - that means 121000 students from other institutions go abroad for studies - what does it mean - people leave India for immigration and jobs? It is good for India - as people who could not go abroad get jobs in India.
Ok Now lemme tell u my story I achieved AIR 7310 In JEE Mains 2022 and AIR 6190 in JEE ADVANCED 2022. Now anyone with 6k rank can get IIT easily but I choose IIIT Gwalior over IIT. because I can't get CS branch with 6k rank in IIT. And lemme tell u guys it's NOT WORTH IT, We have to study each and everything on our own here. I don't understand why Professors don't put efforts on us. I agree our college has 28 LPA avg pckg, 2 crore highest package. But that is only because of students' hardwork, College don't give a shit about us 🥲🫠
@@vinayak9236 No, I am saying ki these colleges don't put efforts on u to study. Same situation is in IITs Always prefer your interest over anything For your information IIIT Gwalior is the oldest IIIT and has highest placement after Hyderabad and Allahabad
One of my neighbour who got rank in 200s got a 8 lakh package as he didn't focus on technical stuff after getting into , whereas one of my friends brother who passed out from a tier 3 college got into PhD in Colombia University. Studying in top universities won't make anyone a great researcher or job professional she/ he has to work on it . Satya , Indira and santanu Narayanan or venkataraman ramakrishna wasn't from any iit . Many iitians who claim to the founders are mostly copy paste products of USA , even they struggle to make profit inspite of huge funding. Many iitians were interested in coming out of the country before 90s as the jobs were quite low but nowaday iitians are staying in india. The obsession of USA or studying abroad very high in india especially i am from Hyderabad i just see a lot telugu people obsessed with USA Initially in USA the Ranking of universities may matter in USA later it won't .
True, two of my acquaintance went to a tier 3 college in a very small town (the college was even smaller than my school and no body knows the name of that college either) but they worked really hard and one of them is in samsung (after 5 years of grinding after graduating) and her salary is more than 2 lakh a month and the other one is in Mercedes in GERMANY both of them are doing really well. People used to laugh at them since they went to such a small college. And I know people from IITs who work under them.
What's funny is that he mentioned snapdeal as a success story of an IITian🤣. Snapdeal is one of the worst online shopping sites on the planet. The entire system of snapdeal is shady and untrustworthy. I literally don't see anyone around me using snapdeal.
He is thinking like that iiT is the one which gives you money & happiness It's bull shit give respect to all courses other courses are far better than iiT to live happily 😀😀😀
Only in India, this mentality of going to top ranked university is the only correct course of action exists. In USA, there are literally thousands of students who get admission to top universities like Columbia, Cornell, MIT etc. but because of their personal reasons, finance etc. choose other lower ranked universities.
The right information you have provided. In India, children are taught to chase job packages and entrance exams. We prepare for exams only to clear not to gain insight into knowledge. That's why students abroad aren't bothered to give entrance exams but they are keen on research and development in the world. India should need to learn from this, especially from the education minister and professors.
IISc is better when it comes to Research. And no wonder they are on the top QS Ranking 155. I once visited there, and the vibe hits different. Lot of passionate people. I think, this year they introduced A BTech Course on Computing and Mathematics. Hope, the next generation JEE Advanced takers look out for this.
Dude, I have friends who haven't gone to IITs, wrote one conference paper and is still persuing PhD from an ivy league college in USA. It doesn't matter how many papers you write, it's the content that matters. Don't race after increasing the number of papers in your inventory.
@@SinghinUSA II think it's not that hard to get admission to one of the ivy league schools if you fulfill their criteria, and the most crucial aspect is to pay for their tuition fees for the Master's program. It's not always about paper. If your area of research matches the professor's research area, then the chances are higher that anyone can get into these schools.
@@SinghinUSA bro you said if I'm not from iit then I can't go aboard for Master's and phd in top class institution there is my chances to get in world's top collage or university is almost 0 percentage but many of bits students go aboard after ug and specifically in top collage
I want to say just one thing. There is one major difference between IISc and IITs. IIsc takes admission for only Masters and PhD wherever in IITs people go mostly for undergrads. So it is obvious that IIsc will have more journals and package also would be high.
Journal papers are NOT always more valuable than conference papers. In CS, and especially in AI/ML, top conferences such as ICML, NeurIPS etc., are very selective and much more valuable than any journal publication.
@NAMAN GUPTA My comment was made NOT to establish/claim that IITs publish in reputed conferences. I simply wanted to convey that it’s NOT NECESSARILY the case that journals are more prestigious than conferences, regardless of the college/org. that’s trying to publish.
There is a big reason behind why students want high package is that.........still a large population of India is suffering from poverty.......and to have a better life for them and for their family.......iits are the best option........where you get both respect and a high chance of getting a good package

This video provides one of the most balanced and unbiased take on the reality of tier 1 education system of india. Well done Harnoor. Going through these realisations mysef in past 9 years (2 years if JEE prep, 4 years of NIT, 3 years of global work experience), I can confirm this is a great video. I wished to have such a video back when i started on this path in 2013 but none existed. It’s important to differentiate between a marketing material, opinions and an information material. Videos we see from official channels of colleges, programs etc are marketing material. Review and reaction videos are opinions. Information videos are rare and tough to make and need extensive research and interviews. Something which you clearly did either for this video or just overtime with your experience. Well done!
Yes..and flexibility of choosing subject is very very less even if it is within a particular department too. make such videos for MEDICAL students in india too !! cover topics like student to selection ratio of entrance tests ( NEET ) lemme give an example if there are approx 18 lakh students giving NEET (like this year) the selection in any medical college ( gov college and private colleges) is only a lakh or so seats to get admission in a medical college ( only talking about MBBS ) and further more examples after mbbs so see the ratio how poor is it !! and moreover like you said in the video ( just my oppinion too) this 1 lakh or so seats have to adjust reservation too so more competion to general category students so nerve breaking is this !!

After that my opinion on IIT changed and I didn't regard it that highly. I was also saddened by the state of research from the highest institution in the country.

I think more matter is who are the students of IIT. All of them able to secure a seat after a thorough process and going through very tough competition. Students what matters in the end. I am from pakistan and my university is not evenly close to IIT but I went to it on merit and through very tough competition among thousands of students. This made me self sufficient. Same is the case with MIT etc. Students there are cream from the lot. This is just my views and people can agree or disagree with my views
U r right but the merit students too run after money here so there is not much difference, research students are extremely low, so even the talented students kinda dont tealise their potential and all go for software etc.
Some of the people in comments saying, He's demotivating them, like they are living in their imaginary world or what?? That's what the reality is, and they themselves will realize it later in their life..
The country where 50% seats are reserved and this number is rising exponentially.... what more could you expect from young talents that are leaving India 😢
I think You missed one point and let me explain it now : Professors from IIT do lots of Joint research with Other Top universities across the globe, so if a student from IIT who is working under that professor gets recommended to the profs in the top universities and if the prof from IIT recommend them about the student then it is easily accepted.. That's it ther is no other rocket science in it.
Nope that's not how it works in US. It's a standardized online process all they can do is write a letter of recommendation that too cannot be written directly to the prof. It's given to the admission board
@@taste_it_everytime There's no such thing like that. I myself go to Brown and every process in standardized. It's US, not India. There's no "preference" or nepotism here. All the applications are processed by the admission team. It's actually illegal for profs to interfere in these processes. Only then Dean and the interviewer can.
Osmania university has a very good global recognition due its 100 years history and it’s fee is 2 lakhs for 4 years max . In case of iit fee is all most 20 lakhs

I appreciate you for making the most honest videos on TH-cam . Students who are leaving India 80 percent of them have nothing to do with the quality of education.they are going to lower grade Universities of USA. Their main moto is settle there at any cost .I wish there goal should be learning from best of the US universities not just earning dollar and keeping their parents in debt.
i did not want to take money from my parents/Heavy loan so i know that i am not privileged as others financially. But still doing fine working at a tech company in India , earning avg salary.
"not just earning dollar and keeping their parents in debt" doesn't even make sense. They want to earn dollars to uplift their and their parents standard of life. And majority of them are successful in doing so.

I have always believed in innovation and creativity. I agree with whatever you said, before this I had watched Dr. Chaitanya Sambhara's video about coaching institutes have destroyed innovative thinking and those truths really were harsh yet true. During this preparation, students aren't given the time to develop such skills, which are utterly necessary. One more I'd like to add is the essentiality of social and emotional skills which we fail to build as well. I think it's important to improve ourselves from all aspects and not just studies. It is good to score all those ranks and grades, but only up till a certain limit, we should never make it our lives and base everything on that. But unfortunately, we are judged on the basis of that so much so that some people commit the unthinkable. I believe personality development should surely be emphasized on, more.

Ok let’s get this clear, IIT, AIIMS, IISc are all government funded institutions in India. If we compare them to private global Ivy League that’s an unfair comparison. Secondly, global rankings are ranked upon various factors such as published research papers, graduates per year etc… All Indian institutions are amazing but we have to understand, that comparing them to MIT or other institutions is useless it all depends on the funding the uni gets and sadly IITs lack in that
doesn't matter. These institutions are the highest ranked in our country. So theoretically they should be able to compete with the very best in the world. IIT's may be amazing by indian standards but looking at the over picture they're not even close to any top 50-70 institutes in the world.
Let me list a few: 1)University of California, Berkley 2) Oxford University 3) Cambridge University 4) ETH Zurich 5) Peking University 6) Geogia Tech 7) National University of Singapore And a lot more. All of them are Public
As an IIT Madras student, its not that people are not curious about things, its just that there are not a lot of opportunities in India, but thankfully that is also changing now and people need to stop criticizing IITs, the best minds of the country are actually here and doing amazing things. Also we don't get funding as compared to MIT or Stanford, so there is no point in comparing them
IIIT Delhi has all the things which you mentioned for US institutions. In IIIT Delhi students study CS + Bio Sciences, CS + Maths, CS + Social Sciences. Please throw some light on our Instituions in India, so that more ppl get to know it.

See IITs are not getting as much fund as other top Institute gets, but still they are trying hard to increase rankings, try to generate funds by their own, and IIT delhi had qs ranking 174 and every year ranking is improving, and their are other factors that affect ranking like how many foreign dignitaries vote for the college etc. So we can't judge our institutions performance just because of some rankings. They are best and improving every day. Jai ho is not only song that deserve Oscar their are many best indian song that is best but still only jai ho get recognition in the same way just because our rankings are not good we can't judge the fact our institution are having students who cracked world's toughest exam and definitely in coming future we will see the impact of these all together in global rankings as well

@Moonlight Gamers rightly pointed out brother. Also you missed that there is also prevalence of rampant regionalism and racism. Being from iit guwahati myself I have seen professor discriminating students on the basis of skin color, religious beliefs, caste and gender. Many students also form groups on the basis of region, language, caste and skin color. Imagine all of this happening at the elite Institutions of a third world country like India. Only because of this, I do prefer any US college over IIT IITs are great because of CREAM students, But sadly I can't made it to IIT as I am weak at PCM, still it doesn't matter the same for CS :)
So here's what I think. First of all the per capita income of US and UK is much much higher than that of India, so parents neither force their kids to get mesmerized by alluring packages that people get in corporates nor they need to do it. Also I think those people don't face cut throat competition and they are free to choose what they want to... In India per capita is less and you know about inequality level right? So the thing is , so somebody who have resources, they don't bother doing research and making world a better place. And somebody who actually is research oriented will face less resources issue. So they will be bound to prepare for corporates in an early age.
So what should a tier 2/3 college student of India do for getting a seat in US universities for masters... Make a proper video on this topic as well becoz many students from other colleges also are becoming successful like IITians after masters in USA
Non IITians look for jugaad. So they come to US for masters and look for job in US as most of them are not capable of getting a job in the US. I know many SOP, LOR frauds being done by non IITians just to get a admit for MS. Jugaadu chu**tiyas. IITians on the other hand easily get jobs in India and if they come to US for further studies its because of their passion. I think you could not crack JEE so you are feeling a bit insecure and jealous
This is a very biased argument in my opinion. I'm from RV College of Engineering and many of my alumni have gone to stanford, Cornell etc. Us universities dont look at brand but on what your Mark's are in college. Dont focus on such bogus videos and keep grinding to achieve your dream university abroad.
The remarkable feat was achieved by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay which ranked 149 in the list, a significant jump from its previous ranking of 172. Following, IIT Bombay, was IIT Delhi at 197. TOP 150
How many of these IITIANS are actually from IIT Tirupati, IIT Goa, Mandi etc? Afterall its well known that BITS, IIITH are the colleges to go for after top 8-9 IITs especially if youre getting CS, ECE, etc in these. Does a CSE student from IIT Mandi, IIT Dhanbad etc have an advantage when it comes to getting accepted to top unis over a BITS CSE student just because of the IIT tag?

Not exactly. See going with PCM CS is a great choice, but you need to decide if you are planning study in India or abroad after 12th. If you want to go abroad then just focus on SATs and Board-level studies along with extra-curriculars, then you can start applying during 12th after giving SATs, then go for a major in CS and minor in Entrepreneurship in a good uni. Now if you wanna study here in India aim for JEE.
Pcm is not only about engineering or iits brother, opportunities are limitless don't put a limit that through pcm u can only opt for either engineering, BSC ,BCA brother explore different kind of fields as well entrepreneurship skills doesn't comes from which course u choose after +2 it depends upon the person itself, even doctors in medical field are entrepreneurs
I usually like your videos. Unfortunately, this wasn't very well researched. Would've expected a deeper, more rigorous analysis from this channel which is usually good. Would've pointed out all the errors but it would take quite long, so yeah whatever. You can always reach out though and we can discuss more about this.
i have a doubt, if i join Michigan state uni, will it be as difficult for me as a non-iitian to get into master in top university? Please answer my doubt. because I'm joining MSU for this fall.
Assuming you want to settle there by having a good job, why would you bother doing masters ? Majority of people who opt for masters from india do so because they want a way to leave india and settle there. You'll already have a really good package once you've completed your undergrad in michigan state uni so pursuing masters won't make much sense. Unless ofc if you want to go into research later on in your career.

Grass Is Greener on the Other Side: Return Migration of Indian Engineers and Scientists in Academia
This article focuses on why academic engineers and scientists from developing countries leave developed countries to return to their countries of birth.

Initially in USA the Ranking of universities may matter in USA later it won't .

Awesome video. Finally someone focussed on things like PhD. Most videos on IITs just revolve around packages and lack of social skills.
I want to say just one thing. There is one major difference between IISc and IITs. IIsc takes admission for only Masters and PhD wherever in IITs people go mostly for undergrads. So it is obvious that IIsc will have more journals and package also would be high.
Bachelors also happen in IISC
IIT Bombay alone has intake of 939 in 39 streams of mtech which is double than iisc.
Journal papers are NOT always more valuable than conference papers.
In CS, and especially in AI/ML, top conferences such as ICML, NeurIPS etc., are very selective and much more valuable than any journal publication.
Lol, even in conferences iits aren't that good even iisc isnt good.
Go and look at COLT, ALT. I don't think iit Or iisc publish there much.

Ok let’s get this clear, IIT, AIIMS, IISc are all government funded institutions in India. If we compare them to private global Ivy League that’s an unfair comparison.
Secondly, global rankings are ranked upon various factors such as published research papers, graduates per year etc… All Indian institutions are amazing but we have to understand, that comparing them to MIT or other institutions is useless it all depends on the funding the uni gets and sadly IITs lack in that
True
Yes, it should also be made somewhat private
Just compare it to University of California, Berkeley. That's a public university, that is ranked 25 ig.
doesn't matter. These institutions are the highest ranked in our country. So theoretically they should be able to compete with the very best in the world. IIT's may be amazing by indian standards but looking at the over picture they're not even close to any top 50-70 institutes in the world.
Let me list a few:
1)University of California, Berkley
2) Oxford University
3) Cambridge University
4) ETH Zurich
5) Peking University
6) Geogia Tech
7) National University of Singapore
And a lot more. All of them are Public
As an IIT Madras student, its not that people are not curious about things, its just that there are not a lot of opportunities in India, but thankfully that is also changing now and people need to stop criticizing IITs, the best minds of the country are actually here and doing amazing things.

Jai ho is not only song that deserve Oscar their are many best indian song that is best but still only jai ho get recognition in the same way just because our rankings are not good we can't judge the fact our institution are having students who cracked world's toughest exam and definitely in coming future we will see the impact of these all together in global rankings as well
Good
IIT Delhi is a tatti university with tatti infrastructure, there are better private universities In India
Reservations should be removed at least in these top universities in INDIA Both for Medicals and IITs as well as for UPSC exams, let us take an example one student who get in IIT by one of the categories with scoring very less marks and there are students who have scored much more than those students and much more eligible are forced to study in very rubbish universities or if they have opportunity they will go abroad instead of wasting seat for those incapable students universities entrance exams should promote merit not reservation
This is the story of me.
Its misconception what are u saying man? Without any realistic data you are targeting the reserve caste people..please correct your information and citation regarding this issue...many of the scholars are from reserve category from iit please search and than comment..your are not in india man please feel the pain and than suggest and comment like that..
@@aspirant009 if they are so smart, they don't need reservation to get into iits. Remove the reservation, level the playing field and we'll see who is smarter. Why are you acting like we are saying "ban sc/st from iits" like no we aren't sayingg that, they can still come if they work as hard as the rest of us.
This video is totally wrong and misleading, 90% iitians don't want to leave India. , IIT Delhi and Bombay are 174 and 172 world rank respectively which makes your heading wrong ❌.
Please dont make such contect just for viewership
Hey are you at iit-d.
If possible can you suggest a branch v/s college opinion.
I am interested in cs and maths. But practically speaking won't work out for me. My second opinion is to got for more business oriented field.
I got 98.5 %ile in mains. Female general candidate.
Can you suggest me what should be my deciding criteria.
Internet is getting a lot misleading to gather info about this.
Can you explain about interdisciplinary fields more in a video

Excellent information
Thanks 🙏🙏🙏
There should be OCI /PIO/ NRI/ International students quota in IIT...
IISc Bangalore is there at 150 global rank and citation per faculty is 100 for IISc (No. 1 in the world). I am doing research at IISc for last 2 years and the research quality is very good and now I will start my PhD in a top 50 (global rank) university of USA, but I have completed my BSc and MSc in a state university, which does not even have any NAAC rank.
Thanks for the information 🤠
Congratulations 🎊 very good video
give seats to non-deserving students without practical knowledge and expect the institution to be among top universities of the world... that make any sense?
Yeah we all know why IITs are not in the top 100 Universities, reason being this and I don't think it to be changing in the near future
@Moonlight Gamers
It's not so much about the percentage of such students as it is about the marks and criteria they need to get it... This is extremely unfair to ordinary candidates and peers.
Anyways , we can’t do anything about it in the near future….it’s all a political agenda to meet.
Most people don't understand that your intellectual capability and personality matters rather than a piece of paper from iit. I feel sad of wasting my very productive years in being a part of a stupid race which leads to nowhere.
@Moonlight Gamers mostly bramhins are very faired in skin
@Moonlight Gamers foolish from which state are you and whoem you had seen are mixed bramhins not pure who had Aryan ancestry
IIT Bombay ~ QS WOULD RANK 172 AND IIT DELHI ~QS WOULD RANK 174 IN 2023.
Class 11 and 12 syllabus of India is equals to college level syllabus of USA but still India is lacking behind in terms of technology and research...Shame😔😔😔
Agree!!
IIT rank does not depend on jee btech students. Most iit btechs go abroad for money and migration - less than 5000 iit students go to usa - but 125000 non iit indian students go to usa every year for money and migration. What is the achievement of narayanamurthy and other Indian billionaires other than making money?
Teachers of India produce export quality educated Indians? Does any industry produce exportable produce other than labor?
0:04 IIT is not a life changing but a life threatening degree
Wow..awesome content man.
Not everyone's as rich as you harnoor. Very few people have money to pay initial fees to study abroad
lmao who told you he was rich? He took a loan to study abroad and then worked part time too. His parents divorced when he was young and his mom passed away too. He was supported only by his grandmother
Then whose problem is that ?
If one is poor it’s his problem he should better ask his father why their family can’t afford
IISc Bangalore is world's top institute in terms of citation per faculty.
But iit should remove obc/sc seats there are of no use even idiot people get seat due to caste system and genaral always suffer. Nowadays no one see caste system so they should remove
Aerospace engineer is one of the most difficult and one of the best major, and you are saying it is worst. 😅
I was just going to school but i gotta watch harnoor's video
In India engineering means computer science only..
Baki branches bas naam ke liye hai...
India has IITs but still has been importing high-tech equipment from the US, Israel, and Russia. India has IITs, but still the Japanese engineers came to construct Metro. India has IITs but has been kept on importing IT products from China. India has IITs but still has been unable to integrate AI with the military and other services. India has IITs but still has not been able to produce brilliant entrepreneurial minds that a country (Israel) 120x smaller has produced. IITs might eventually end up in the top 100, but that will only give benefit to 0.00000001 pc of the population. IITians will have a dream life, but India will be standing right there. That's an actual harsh reality - keep boasting the toughness of JEE, which will only contribute to the 0.0000001 pc of the students. Salam!
50% are bogus IITians
Very nice analysis
i'm a 12th grader stuck in a dilemma
i want to do *ms* abroad( not bachelors) ( *uwaterloo* , *uoftornto* , *ubc* are my dream schools)
so, now some people say to take drop for jee and then get into btech iit and go for masters
some say, college doesn't matter, get into any tier-2,3 college and you can still go for masters abroad
HELP ME OUT *only mature advices*
Take drop only if you are serious. Otherwise go to some good pvt college for computer science then do master in CS abroad. Maintain 9 above cgpa in college
take drop, at worst you'll land in tier 3 too next year.
but you'll be happy that atleast you gave a shot to it
@@MrGoodYear I agree with you
No need to take a drop if u want to study abroad then not don't wait for it get your bachelors in abroad if u get University of Waterloo then go & get it but here also condition apply check eligibility criteria for bachelor & if u r ready to pay heafty amount then no need to take a drop
bro even im in the same situation, but im planning not to take drop
Apt.! THE TRUTH.! hats off to your work 👍🏽👍🏽
great video
i want pursue chemical engineering at IIT because i want to create a semiconductor startup
and for that i have to do research and all things
0:14, worst major, Aerospace Engineering, you should have used a term, like not so popular major. 😐
Yes I’m sorry you’re right! Worst considered major from Package point of view
@@SinghinUSA at least you spoke what you had in mind instead of polishing it.
@@SinghinUSA it's ok dude
@@subramanianannamalai8333 yeah, But I completed mechanical engineering, Aerospace Engineering is a core of mechanical engineering, so I got bit upset.
Are you dumb? Who told you Aerospace is the worst field? It is one of the most hardest engineering field which pays you well especially in the US. people are making $100,000 as their starting salary and after few years it can raise upto $200,000 to $300,000. Boeing and other aerospace companies offers really good packages to aerospace engineers
Damn bro you nailed it🔥🔥
Keep doing 👍👍👍
IITs don't make their students great, Their students make IIT great !!
Yes ,curiosity in IITIANs are very much down.
India mein rahkar agar mai CS me genius hu to bhi mai IIT se nhin padh skta chahe mujhe Wha ke CS ke topper se bhi zyada ata ho
CS padhne ke lie mujhe PCM ka toughest paper dena hoga. But WHY?
Didn't I have the right to get the best education as I want to?
Only because of this, I do prefer any US college over IIT
IITs are great because of CREAM students,
But sadly I can't made it to IIT as I am weak at PCM, still it doesn't matter the same for CS :)
I have same thoughts but this is what it is 😔
Mr. Singh, you are superb, need assistance on one aspect from u that is it good to do Maths major UG in us and its employability?
Tier 2/3 prefer Germany . Tution fees is also zero and quality of education is premium.
this year things changed many of iitian prefer to do work for india
This is a very biased argument in my opinion. I'm from RV College of Engineering and many of my alumni have gone to stanford, Cornell etc. Us universities dont look at brand but on what your Mark's are in college. Dont focus on such bogus videos and keep grinding to achieve your dream university abroad.
That's really awesome.
Excellent performance 😄
Lastly made it happen.......and long way to go ,it is just tip of the universe ce berg.....
Our government asks us to ignore any index or ranking.
But evertime ranking might not have any other agenda, they are even correct.
You are giving too much importance to college. Stop begging and have confidence in your own capabilities.
IISER and IISC Left the chat
Bhai 29th Jan ko mera paper hay JEE(mains) ka....bohot fatt rahi h bro can't Handel the situation...🤕
Bro Harnoor at 15:34 is what i intend to make my hands dirty in, I'm currently studying Information science and data science as my college major in India but also taking prerequisite classes of biomedical and genetics sciences so that I can bridge the gap between biology and technology to contribute in the areas of health care and research.
In which college of India?

Hi Harnoor. The video is well researched. I know it is a tough job to prepare these videos and get the information across to the audience. But mentioning architecture and aerospace engineering as the worst majors without substantial reasoning is misleading and creates a false impression among the viewers. We need future generations to pursue not only Computer Science but other fields too.
Gr8 Gr8 knowledge ❤
Nice info Harnoor! I'm in class 10 right now & I've opted for PCM along with computer science but I'm still confused between commerce & science. I don't want to get into IIT though. I want to pursue entrepreneurship. I want to major in engineering so that I have a skill.
Is this the correct approach?
Not exactly. See going with PCM CS is a great choice, but you need to decide if you are planning study in India or abroad after 12th. If you want to go abroad then just focus on SATs and Board-level studies along with extra-curriculars, then you can start applying during 12th after giving SATs, then go for a major in CS and minor in Entrepreneurship in a good uni.
Now if you wanna study here in India aim for JEE.
If you get into IIT, you will certainly have a great Entrepreneurship experience.
@@shrawon3605 true
Pcm is not only about engineering or iits brother, opportunities are limitless don't put a limit that through pcm u can only opt for either engineering, BSC ,BCA brother explore different kind of fields as well entrepreneurship skills doesn't comes from which course u choose after +2 it depends upon the person itself, even doctors in medical field are entrepreneurs
Best explanation
I usually like your videos. Unfortunately, this wasn't very well researched. Would've expected a deeper, more rigorous analysis from this channel which is usually good. Would've pointed out all the errors but it would take quite long, so yeah whatever. You can always reach out though and we can discuss more about this.
Iit are basically engineering focused University...and if you check engineering ranks than iit delhi and Bombay both lie near to top 50 of world
Nope bro iits are in top 10 universities of the world.
@@raghavrathore3698 They are not even in top 150. IIT bombay is 172 and IITD is 176
i have a doubt, if i join Michigan state uni, will it be as difficult for me as a non-iitian to get into master in top university? Please answer my doubt. because I'm joining MSU for this fall.
Have generational wealth, you'll get admission anywhere
Do not join MSU, its remote location will make you starve for jobs after graduation also its very cold there. East lansing.
@@maturimanvitha7226 All the best for the future dude
Assuming you want to settle there by having a good job, why would you bother doing masters ? Majority of people who opt for masters from india do so because they want a way to leave india and settle there. You'll already have a really good package once you've completed your undergrad in michigan state uni so pursuing masters won't make much sense. Unless ofc if you want to go into research later on in your career.
