Getting a hacker rank interview is not denying 400-500k offers 😂 the selection rate at citadel, Jane street and two sigma is in low single digits. Most people dont make past their hacker ranks. Its not simply leet code like google, facebook, Microsoft. They ask about lock contentions, kernel level questions, bit of math and then some hard leet code like problems. You then have phone screen and then final round of 6-8 interviews on site. These firms mostly hire quant researcher who are Olympiad medalists, post doc from caltech, MIT etc and software engineers from stanford, UC Berkeley, ivy leagues etc. The fact that you mentioned the interviews at these quant firms are same and simple like tech, tells me you have no idea about quant firms and how to get into them. Also Two sigma is mostly work from home and has one of the highest work life balance rating on blind app (yes, higher than google’s). End of year discretionary bonus is generally way over 100k at all these firms.

lets say he lied about getting the offer from citadel. bad thing. but still the point of the video stands that trading companies compensate more for the price of working you to death. which might be cool for a few years but isnt sustainable in the long run. many people might be unaware of the reality behind big packages from iit. hence this video was made. the offer rejection part was obviously to grab our attention.

i understand what you are pointing out but people work their ass off to feed their families for long hours look at your father my dad works for same amount of time he is in mid 40s now and money is important no one has time to work on their hobbies and shit like harnoor mentioned talk to people who work they will tell you the same thing.

    Dear all,
In our pursuit of success and financial stability, it's easy to forget that money is not everything. While financial security is undoubtedly important, we must also prioritize our passions and happiness. Pursuing our interests and finding joy in the simple things can bring a sense of fulfillment that money cannot buy.
Let us remember that our lives are not defined by our bank accounts, but by the experiences we have, the relationships we build, and the contributions we make to the world. So let's chase our dreams with passion and joy, and strive to find a balance between our financial goals and our personal well-being.
Remember, money is not everything, passion or happiness also matters. 😀

The jobs at trading firms are not at all like that it's much different, you should have atleast consulted someone with the same domain and getting a salary of 4 crore is really hard.
Atleast don't say wrong stuff without any research

If your basic needs are not set and taken care of then doesn't matter how many hobbies or time you have, you cannot be happy. Like having a house. In india one needs 6-7 years in good job for a house. In US, one can earn same and get house in india in a year. That's the difference. After 2-3 years, leave the job and come to india, if one wants happiness. Atleast will be financially secure.

There are other advantages to moving to USA apart from just money. Here again I think you look at things only from the lens of $ vs. Rupees. USA offers advantages like living in a multicultural society, among so other things. It’s also a more liberal minded society as opposed to India.

First you have to understand. If you go to thirupati you will get only tonsil hair. If you go to Palani only Kerala panjamitham. If you go to Singapore only tall buildings with light o light. If you go to Rajasthan only camel milk lassi. And if ... Ofcourse you can go by walk if you choose to.
