      I've ridden a 2005 Yamaha Vmax here in my town and I've got to say, its got the best linear torque curve in bikes that I've ridden. No Traction Control for that extra lower end with acceleration that doesn't throw you out of the bike. Nor is there ABS, cause real men use fingers.

      @@rajatraghuram7587 it's going to be a couple years before I get it going. I bought the bike for $100 usd, and every bit of the bike screams scrap metal. It was in a house fire over 10 years ago and sat in someone's storage shed since. But it has a straight frame and good motor to start from. I've got 3rd magna in addition to my other two that is strictly to rob parts off of.
      Here is a video of a drag spec Vfr750. My Magna will have the vfr750 motor internals swapped into it since they share the same block.

    I own a VFR1200. Everybody that thinks they sound like "shit" has almost certainly not heard one in person with a good aftermarket exhaust on it. No recording captures the true sound of the exhaust note. Yes, at low revs they do have a definite chainsaw sound to them, but wind them out past 4500rpm and they sound amazing, very Formula engine-esque. Then again, it seems to be popular to hate on the 1200. I have noticed that almost every person that talks down on them has never even sat on one, let alone actually ridden one.
    We can gloss over the fact that the engine itself is actually dimensionally smaller AND lighter than the 800cc engine, while also producing over 60% more power and torque. But, I digress.

    • @MrSnakedHD

      VisioRacer but it doesn't mean anything since the 2 stroke has one explosion per revolution instead of one in two revolutions. So a 500cc 2T is the equivalent of a 1000cc 4T and the fuel consumption is in the same ballpark while being much less efficient. What's the point of comparing the two ?

      I think that 2-strokes have only one flaw and it is their reliability. With bikes however it doesn't matter because they are way easier to maintain and its not even expensive. If someone says 2-strokes don't have as much torque, it is because they usually have smaller displacement than 4-strokes, because 2-strokes just make more power out of small displacement. And there aren't big 2-stroke bikes because they would just be too damn powerful.

    • @Hulluboju
      @Hulluboju 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Rick Delair hey, i own a 2-stroke. I daily-drive one. Yet i still think they are shite for the road, due to very high maintenance intervals and extreme fuel consumption combined with pretty high pollution. For the track they are very good due to their far superior power density, but i wouldn't buy one for road use.

    • @Hulluboju
      @Hulluboju 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Kalle Lahti and its not just said that they have less torque than 4-strokes because they are usually smaller, but also between a 50cc 4-stroke and 50cc 2-stroke, there is still a torque cap that can be felt, mostly due to the 2-stroke engines need to rev higher to achieve the same power level as the 4-stroke and revving higher will on the side lower your torque

    RSV4 sounds like a beast, unlike the VFR1200, which sounds like... it doesn't sound like anything, really. The sound of VFR1200F or VFR1200X is so bland and underwhelming. Basically it's a droner as well as the RC30 - the crank throws are spaced at 360°, but there is that offset between the pair of pistons on each throw, so they move more like a 90° V, to reduce vibration, which makes sense, since the engine is for a touring motorcycle.

Basically it's a droner as well as the RC30" correct, finally someone to at least acknowledge the buzzing sound was intended to mimic the 360 cranked RVF's (RC30/RC45) which are more known in Europe than the rumbling VFR's (180 crank VFR750/800) that are more known in America.

    It wasn't really touched on much here but the benefit of those uneven power pulses Is it makes the bike more forgiving when you're riding on the edge at the very limit of traction. The gaps in power pulses aĺlow the tire to regain traction between pulses so that it doesn't break loose as abruptly as a bike with an even firing engine.
    Btw you didn't mention the 65 degree, 1700cc 2nd gen Vmax, it sounds similar to the rsv4 but kind of unique in its own way. The 1st gen Vmax 1200 had a 70 degree bank angle.

      It sounds like it has a 360 crank, like the RC30. In balance terms that makes it most likely to have a 90 degree bank angle.

    • @TumzDK
      @TumzDK 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the VF500 was a 360° crank and therefore the firing order is the same as the mighty VFR750R or RC30, as many call it. I've ridden a VF500FII a few times, yes it sound great!

    if a V2 engine has a angle between cilinders V, and a angle between split crank pins S, if 90-V=(S/2), then the engine is perfect balanced in terms of primary order. Note a tradicional V2-90 degrees, with shared crank pins, obey this fórmula, and the Honda 1200 obey too.

    I'am more confused as before after watching this video. I tried to get an overview about angles between each firings on the 720° 4-stroke or 360° 2-stroke cycles to compare between even or more big bang configurations. This I couldn't out of this video.
    I also belive Ducati meens with Tween Pulse of the Desmosedici RR a confiuration with 0° crankshaft resuling in a 90° - 630° firing order similar the L2 but 2 cylinders simultaneous.
