Love this video!! The surfing, the commentary, the different camera angles and watching Kai and Bobby connect the bumps. I have watched this video so many times.
Just when I thought I had viewed every OC-1 video on the tube you post this amazing video. Watching you guys surfing those bumps and constantly flying the ama is a lesson in itself. Amazing conditions, amazing paddling, and fantastic voice over work and music. Excellent promo for OC-1 !!!
It is always fascinating how one can extract energy out of a traveling wave by keeping a particular phase shift with respect to it. While we see boats doing this on a wave, the same principle is used in many electric motors where a synchronous rotation on a stator is followed by a rotor working at a lag angle with respect to it but the lag depends on the load and, all rotating at the same frequency of the 'wave'. I believe all young people should be introduced to such principles while having fun with the science involved and the mathematics that describes it all in such an elegant manner and to think that the particles of the water do not move much laterally but oscillate with a heavy up and down component to produce a traveling wave, it makes it all more of a miracle!
"to think that the particles of the water do not move but oscillate up and down to produce a travelling wave" Actually, and interestingly, the particles of the water near the surface move in (nearly) circular orbits when surface waves (with a single frequency) are moving through. (I won't pretend to know anything more about it than that -- search for "deep water wave particle motion" to confirm and read further if interested.)
@@mikedelhoo You are absolutely correct about the surface water circulating. I just did not want to complicate it that much and assumed a general function as a pulse or a wave going down a matched or a very long transmission line. Again what you said is correct and I have tried to illustrate that with a small light thread tied to a long steel rod. The circulation which you described is easily seen. Thank you for pointing that out.
Shot! I just started getting into paddling recently, I still continue to flip the canoe when i try to go fast... but hoping to get to this stage one day
wow wow unbelievable beautiful runs I wish you could go out there when they're right you're right it's Priceless with your friends it's an epic that's an epic day for you guys one day maybe we can share it
Thought 1 (from a north atlantic sea kayaker) : "Where are their PFD's ????" Thought 2 : "From where is it filmed ? Doesn't look like a drone." Thought 3, seeing the twin outboard engines : "Ok then."

I feel exactly like this!!

Just did a DW on the Gemini man... Mind blowing performance
um, can we? :)
Is this canoe not ideal for a 190+ paddler? Hard to determine from the description on the Ozone website.
Epic Indeed !!! Sweeet. Kick @$$ Boats !!! Y`All are Awesome !!! ***cheers*** =)
Fantástico !!!!!
C quoi le nom de la pirogue
Kevin C-J's the best🤙
insane !!! how long it took 30miles to cross
Any specific reason you're not wearing a PFD?
Looks like he’s got boat crew support and I imagine he’s wearing a leash
What was it 30 miles? It’s 7 miles at its closest point.
can you add an outrigger to a surfski?
Bangka boat?
Epic.

You had a good surf but the Tahitian are the best for me
Epic
♾✨🙏🏽✨♾
Ripping!
Is Kai on an Ares--I know his partner is. His canoe looks bigger.
JOCKO ROGERS kais on a china ares pro the purple canoe is a Hawaii ares. Weight wise kai outweighs me by at least 20+lbs
Bobby PrattH this is probably the best OC1 video out there. You and Kai absolutely crushing it in this video!! I’m looking to get an Ares now!
S I C K ! ! !
Wtf is that form?
Bereberes,el hombre se viste por los pies
Thanks. But I'd rather sail it on a cruising catamaran .....
Tru travellers
Tahitian va'a look nicer
its great muted.
Little over dramatic - Ho’s bonking on a reef these days, 3000 miles looks like its element
