    Power Supply: Korad KA3005D
    Soldering Station: KSGER OLED T12
    Hot Air: BEST BST-863
    Flux: Kalafonia
    Microscope: Whatever you can afford.
Multimeter: UT801 he is using is really outdated look for Uni-T UT8802E Or UT8803E

Back in the 70’s when I was a young teenager I had a bit of wood with 2 lengths of wire top an bottom (a bread board) and a ‘lucky bag’ bag of bits. I got a small pocket analog multimeter for my 14th birthday and away I went. I tried making a soldering iron and blew the mains fuse for the ‘ringmain’.
Nearly 45yrs later I’m still learning about electronics.
My hobby became my job and today I learned something from Sorin.
This is the place for honesty.

My tools: 5€ glue gun, 8€ soldering iron, 10€ multimeter, 3.50€ magnifying glass, 8€ screwdriver kit, 1€ toothbrush, 0€ my old identity card to open laptops or any device, 3€ tweezers kit. Now I have to buy the heater gun station for 20€ approx.

Aarón Stark cheap tools won’t last and are not very useful for beginners, and to get away with using cheap tools then you need to be a expert, a good soldering iron is a must for novice and you’ll get away with using cheap multimeter but the rest of stuff must be decent

@@ImranAli-rp4kd I have no intention to buy expensive tools for the moment, because this is only a hobby for the moment. I work with software, not hardware.

Another great video Sorin. Just a word on ordering from China. If the item ordered is valued above £10 approx, customes and excise will ask for 20% VAT which is okay BUT, the Royal Mail will add another £8.00 set admin charge. So, if the soldering iron costs £19.00 from Ali Express, expect to pay an additional £11.80 !

I am an experienced TV engineer , I totally agree with you no need for expensive tools, so what I have done is, packed my over priced Pace solder station. the NEW solder station in the workshop is a Z99 adjustable solder station I think to 460 oc, the cost £11:85 p no special treatment normal workshop use I want to see how long it lasts, I've also bought a cheap hot air station, as of course the Pace is off line, I'm fascinated to see how they will perform, because I've often wondered if I paid for the name not the device.

Thanks for the inspiration and motivation 🙂 With the excellent videos you have uploaded I’ve repaired 8 Samsung phones varying from a Note 3 faulty note screen to a total restoration of Samsung S6. Over the weeks I’ve been buy tools needed for each repair including Kalafonia flux. Next on my shopping list is a hot air station and micro-soldering tools. I had some difficulty sourcing quality suppliers and with just starting the business, working capitol is limited and I buy as and when needed. I ordered a screen for the note 3 which turned out to be faulty. They sent out a replacement one the next day. Can you give me an indication of what screens you keep in and do you send your old screens with working touch to a refurbishing company ? Any way thanks for the inspiration Sorin and keep up the excellent work. 🙂

The searching for tips and the soldering iron after, is actually a really good tip. I learned it the bad way. Bought my 1st soldering station, a cheap one, and I couldn't find no tips nowhere. I then searched for tips and found out that the Hakko brand is really good and there is a lot on Chinese knockoffs just as good as the original ones. All kinds of tips and soldering irons at really good prices. I have a 2 in 1 YIHUA 862D soldering station and a cheap hakko tips compatible soldering iron for easy transport.
Bought two ANENG AN8009 from Ebay. Very good price/quality and comes with a bag with lots of accessories and different tips.
I use KINGBO RMA-218 gel flux, very good price/quality.

The ones with the fan in the handle tend to do that. try turning down the airflow and it will help. I have one of the cheap 858D and it's good for many jobs (it will blow components around though) but it is no comparison to the Quick 861DW I now have. Also the 858D just does not have enough power to remove larger chips. IMHO it is worth paying more for better equipment in some cases.

    • @MrRvdbeek
      @MrRvdbeek 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Yes I have one with blower on the handle.
When I regulate the air it’s not hot enough.

@electronics repair school. Good day Sorin. I need your assistance in fixing my laptop. I have a rm notebook 320.When i press the power button, the power button led comes on and stays on. The wifi led also comes on, the fan comes on sometimes and the processor and chipset gets hot. The problem is nothing coems on the screen and the harddrive led doesnt come on, nor does the hard drive spin up. Of note the laptop is taking 19V, 0.01A when plugged in and off. It takes 19V and 0.87A when the power key is pressed. COuld you help me fix it?

Hello. I have one question about thermal camera, I believe you know something about them, even if you're not using one of them . Maybe you have some recomendation for some of them, I'm not looking for very expensive. I was looking at Flir C5, is it good for electronic repairs? Probably it's brand new one, and I cant find a lot of that on youtube. Thanks for any advise.
