It's time for another extreme room makeover in our Little Lake House! We're turning a dated, small bathroom into a modern coastal retreat. The bathroom had to be completely demolished after we found damage within the walls, and re-built from the ground up. Using tiles Sean had in his inventory and budget-friendly finishes, we're creating a luxe look on a budget. Shiplap, marble, white and blue colours, and lots of texture helps give this bathroom a lake house vibe.

Oh, I know that feeling of realizing I can't live with a mistake and I need to rip something out and start again. It's a hard decision to make but once you do, you never look back. Good one, Christina! You totally rock and your videos never, ever disappoint. This makeover is amazing!

Schluter Ditra isn’t just waterproofing, it’s also an uncoupling membrane but you’re not supposed to use less than 2x2” mosaics over the surface.. The corners and seams in the shower also needed Keri band, and hopefully you back buttered the 12x24’s to obtain full coverage. Also wondering why he used the Jolly profile to hide the exposed edges on the tiled “baseboard” and not on the edge between the bathroom wall & tiled wall. I’d also recommend sealing the marble floor, with natural stone being extremely soft and porous it’s prone to staining with micro cavities. Other than that, great work!

I love the final look, it’s beautiful ! Even though the tiles were the hardest issue you faced but they actually gave the bathroom the luxurious look and really stand out.
Gorgeous small bath makeover! This is laid out exactly like my first two bathrooms (including the window in the shower). I monochrome tile and walls make it look so fresh and clean! Way to go @The DIY Mommy -- and Daddy!
Great job, my favorite thing is that shower door. I’ve never seen a nice version of a half door that nice. The scale of everything works really well. How lucky are you having a contractor for a husband. 💕
Very pretty! Love the colors and tile size. I wish you had included more storage in the shower and a bigger shower door. While it's pretty I can't see myself living here without having to truck in all of my shower necessities every wash day. Knowing this is the only bathroom in the house I'd have to be creative with storage close to the bathroom to make things work.

You are so blessed to have a husband that is knowledgeable and willing to help you work on things. Although you are pretty handy and smart when it comes to construction yourself. It turned out beautiful! The brass accessories are a nice touch and goes great with the blue. 👍👍

Great job. Great call on the charcoal grout on the penny tile on the floor. Will be changing that over in my bathroom ASAP. Wish you put a gold drain and overflow on the bathtub too. Other than that and the fact that hooks dont allow towels to dry, amazing work.

Beautiful!!! Great budget for taking something down to the studs...actually replacing most of the studs...and having spray insulation (that stuff isn't cheap!). Y'all should be very proud! I'm loving this cabin makeover!

Came out wonderful. I love gray and white & the marble design you used on the walls.
I love that you did the brushed gold with black. Not a lot of people are brave enough or confident enough to blend those two elements. This project inspired me to upgrade my own small bathroom!

had my floors chopped up, ground up and skim coated today as well as having the toilet knocked out... Can't wait to see it in the morning. Unfortunately I had a stupid heart attack in my 30's so I still need to farm out more energetic jobs like this... that bathroom is still huge compared to mine.
Amazing the different standards in different countries. We are required to have the floor and wet areas water proofed which is a much more extensive process than seen in this video.
We are required to have the water proofing membrane run BEHIND the tub and shower, not stop at the top of the tub which was weird imo

I love the look of this. One thing I would do different is have just a glass panel instead of a glass door for the shower since it is so close to the toilet

It looks SO good! Love that blue vanity! The only thing I would have done differently is to put the vanity on the bench wall so I could have a larger vanity. I would never use a bench really but a girl needs all the storage space she can get! Especially with this being the only bathroom, I would want a bigger vanity.

So fresh and much larger looking! I love watching your prep steps too! We spent a small fortune on a complete bathroom reno in our condo recently and are not happy with the poor finishes and gaps etc ( we used similar 12x24 tiles that you did and the contractor complained alot about difficulty cutting etc.) I now know that when we tackle our cottage in the autumn we can do it ourselves and be happy with a cleaner result ( as well as save thousands in labour costs!). Love your content!!

I think you guys did an awesome job! You really have to do something like this when you are in your 40s, or younger because, in your 60s, you are just trying to figure out how you can swing getting the pros in to do it!!! LOL Take my word for it!
