Build a 10-Foot Monopod and Selfie Stick for $30 (Complete Instructions) 31" folded, only 2 pounds!

I needed a monopod that could stabilize a camera at 10 feet or take video from a cell phone 10 feet over my head (about 15-17 feet total). I also needed it to fold-down to about 2.5 feet for travel. The longest monopod available commercially was about 7 feet. So, I bought two six-foot monopod's and joined them together to make a single 10 foot unit. This video shows the products I purchased, the full methodology for modifying and combining them into one unit, and the final result with an iPhone attached. In addition to the tallest camera monopod I’ve owned, I use this for LIDAR scanning of accident vehicles with the Recon-3D app to create point cloud models with my iPhone. It also doubles as a selfie stick that can manage a big group photo.
