    The real tragedy is that there is only a limited amount of these popcorn stories ever filmed...I could listen to him for hours on end

    I remember my dad using chicken feed sacks tacked to the walls for insulation, nothin but a wood stove for heat. Mom and dad stayed on the bottom bunk and me on the top bunk in a little shack in Arkansas. Those were simple times with simple survival lol.

      @jamescollins1578 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Simple survival your absolutely right, people did what they had to, i remember when i was about 10 years old and the house we had didnt hold heat very well and we used kerosene heaters, well that one winter it was super cold and our water pipes for the bathroom froze up and busted so we had no water in the bathroom at all so when it came time to get a bath my parents had these 2 giant pots im guessing about 10 gallon each, and they would fill them both up with water then heat it on the stove which took about an hour and a half then once the water got warm my dad would dump it in the tub and thats how we took our baths all winter long until the spring when my dad was finally able to dig up the well a get the pipes fixed, it really sucked having to do that, but we did what we had to..

    I enjoy listening to Popcorn. I met him once at the Moonshiners convention in dawsonville ga. I think these stories are fascinating but I’m not one of those people that say I’d love to live like that. Shoot no, I like being cool in the summer and warm in the winter. I got to have some sweat on my beer.

    Yep Popcorn your right my grandparents house had 3 outlets in the whole house. Living room, kitchen, and one bedroom. Then each room had a light socket on the ceiling and that's it. 5 of them that's all the wiring in the whole house. Built in 1890's

      The owner of this channel who interviewed him clarified in a previous video that that rumor is false - he died a poor man in terms of cash, but a rich man in terms of wisdom and life experience.
