Love these old Popcorn interviews! He was one hell of a storyteller!
Neal ..... you have captured some of the best, most interesting things with him. I never get tired of watching these. I hate he's gone and especially why but, I'm so glad you have these to share. Thank you.
Popcorn was the best at making moonshine and telling some damn good stories. RIP SIR.
It’s 2022 and still interested in this man! I’m glad we have these videos of him so he can tell us about how he grew up in moonshining. It’s like we’re all sitting right there with them just listening to him talk.
Liked the part about the A-Modle and the keys. Thanks
RIP LEGEND.......🙏
The firecracker story had me rolling 🤣🤣🤣
Thank ya for the stories of Popcorn ❤️✌️
I’m so glad Popcorn was discovered before he left us
just remember popcorn was smarter than the law.
@Bob T if you say so. What happens in Newport stays in Newport. Maybe one of these days you'll understand that.
Thanks for the video this guy is a legend and always will be rip pop corn 🇬🇧🇺🇸👍
Can't believe it's been 13 years since he's been gone.
Oh man I'm gonna enjoy watching these
I miss ol' Popcorn dearly
Oh how I loved Popcorn 💕R. I.P.💕
Yay more popcorn Sutton videos
Hearing you asking questions in the background sounds a LOT like the Alan Lomax recordings, very cool that you're uploading all these. Thank you.
Thank you for all these videos!!! Can’t thank you enough
Great, loving all of these.
BONUS ROUND!
I would have loved to sit and chat with Popcorn. He offered so much knowledge, oral history, & had some interesting stories. I would have definitely made/hauled some moonshine with him.
Baby firecrackers were called " ladyfingers "
I could have spent hours and days listening to Popcorn. Funny story at 0:40. We did the same thing with one of our teachers. We would all take turns getting him fired up by asking his opinion on some political news story Once he got on a roll we would close our books.
My daddy loved me , even though he never said it , everytime I screwed up , he whipped my ass , and I'm old now , and I'm thankful
the M O R E L O R A L energy, i love popcorn
Corn Pop was a bad Dude. Popcorn is a good Dude.
We had a teacher just like that but you'd ask him about lee iacocca
Met popcorn at a small store in parrotsvillle tn, He was in a 3 cylinder geo. I purchased a jar and one of his books.
Man was it the best you've ever had? Wish I could get the real deal from him
I think what happened to him was tragic and the fact that I can go in now and buy moonshine now makes it even worse.
This generation today couldn't even imagine the variety of the hard work that kids had to do everyday way back then. Their destroying the generations future after them by being so lazy. Their parents have failed on teaching them the basics of life.
Nice. 😎
Feels like this video lasted 30 seconds.
"Okinawa" was the place, Popcorn.
Never heard him laugh b4 that's awesome
Popcorn an American icon
genuine to the bone
Love this guy but I’m curious what made them interview him on camera in the first place?
He was a folk legend. A folk hero if you will.
Im not even interested in moonshine itself. It's the history of it all that I find fascinating. It's pure Americana.
I grew up around moonshiners. My dad was a preacher's son, so he was fairly genteel, but he had some shady friends that cooked or trafficked in moonshine. I was a curious kid, and hung on every word, and they all sounded like Popcorn. I'm a retired engineer now, but I would still feel at home in that world.
Teasing and bullying is what kids do.
👍👍
He’s only in his early to mid 50s here
On secound thought, dude had hard life.
I really wish mark laita with soft white underbelly could have interviewed him before he passed. That would have been an amazing interview.
🌠
Popcorn Sutton a outlaw a true man of his time never killed no one never hurt no one they made that man take his own life just for doing something he loved they messed with a ole man who wasnt hurting anyone its sad
Just another working guy that used his mind and back to make his living.
It's hard to believe that a bunch of shitheads wanted to lock this man up, he was more of a man and a wiser man than anybody in government ever was , rest in peace popcorn 👍
If he cut his beard ol sol would look 30
He’s only 50
Today the nearest bloke to this fella would be Johnny Depp I suppose... FFS yes I'm joking.
Bed his dad was kind of a terrible parent, lack of education and all that. And I don't mean reading and writing. That doesn't make you educated.
Glad I found this a legend in my book go f***k the system my friend rip.
