EV's are great to enforce on a tropical island Nation that never experiences lower than 78-degree temperatures. The entire mid-west of the United States faces 10-20 below zero-degree temperatures on a yearly basis which only a combustion engine can survive in.
Batteries in electric cars withstand cold better than heat. -30 degrees is not a problem, especially if the car can preheat the battery. There are no problems with electric cars in the cold as long as you don't run out of electricity. It actually works better than an ICE car. You will always be able to start as long as there is power in the battery. Topping up power from a supercharger without preheating the battery is not a good idea since the battery must be heated before it can receive power. When you charge at home at night, you do not take up space for others while the battery heats up before charging.
A car manufacturer that never rectified the reliability issues in their gas-powered cars, only jump head first into the EV market. Yeah this was a recipe for disaster waiting to happen.
Ford can make whatever excuses they want, but the CEI knows what was going on. I actually wanted to buy a Ford Lightning, but the dealerships wanted $30,000 over MSRP. I said no way. The salesperson said that they would consider any offers. I said that I would buy it right now for the MSRP, and she said that will never happen. Ford knew this was happening to all of their vehicles, gas or EV. The CEI stated that they couldn't control the dealerships pricing, but they could limit the number of vehicles sent to the dealerships. I decided to make a complaint to customer service and I encountered a very rude individual for which I may not ever buy another Ford after being a loyal Ford owner for 40 years. Now I see the new F150 XLT is priced over $60,000. You can't complain about poor EV sales when you were aware of what the dealerships were doing and to jack up the prices on vehicles, like the F150 XLT to cover your failed financial decisions is not our fault. Goodbye.
@beehappy7797 I've driven them, rode in a few others. They aren't that great. Their resale value is somehow worst than a petrol engine car, their ranges are a joke, and we lack the infrastructure for mass charging. So again, I won't. Unless you mean at gunpoint.
I value my time so why would I trade a 5 minute fill up for a couple hour charge up? And I don't want an EV charging in my garage as it could catch fire and take my home and life. Google a lithium mine and see what it takes to make that battery.
People have figured out that financially, owning a EV just isn't worth the headaches. Just look at the Tesla graveyard charging stations in freezing Chicago...
EV will not save anything. With current battery technology, and the amount of EVs needed to replace all gas/diesel vehicles you would need either a coal, gas, or Nuclear power plants to produce per month a additional 109,557,112,378KWH of power to replace all 278,063,737 registered vehicles with EVs this is only If all EVs used the average 394KWH per month. Unfortunately you have trucks, 18-wheelers, and Buses so that'll need far more. The monthly KWH produced per month in the US is only 352,000,000,000KWH (352TWH). Wind & Solar will not cut it. There is not enough minerals to make batteries for 278,063,737 cars in the US let alone the world. Not to mention the waste products such as contaminated water (used in Lithium production) The irreversible damage to the earth from strip mining. Not to mention the slave labor at some of these locations, the political tensions at some locations (Like China), Transporting to battery factories (still need Diesel for trains & boats). Need I go on. Safety.... mostly thermal runaway can not be extinguished with water, can explode, smoke can kill you faster than burning fuel, and the fire in a thermal runaway gives you only seconds not minutes to escape to a safe distances in most cases. There are videos of EVs under water still burning with flames on the water. There are sodium based batteries that are safer, but can not be used in EVs due to poor performance. The government either are stupid as heck, or evil as heck..... maybe a little of both.
In reality, don’t blame car makers. Blame Joe Biden who has legislated EV nirvana upon them. Anybody imagine, given a free choice, any auto maker would want to tear up a 100 year long business model to go EV?! There is only one winner out of this:China. About the last huge western industry we had was car manufacturers. With EV’s we are handing it all over to the Chinese, who almost completely rule lithium an cobalt mining and processing into batteries and components, along with the inherent cost advantages of lower wages and lower environmental laws. The Chinese must not be able to believe their luck. Renewables and now EV’s, are the west handing China world industrial and financial domination, one EV, solar panel or wind turbine at a time.
there is nothing broken in the EV world, because it was never built right in the first place . Government subsidies, marketing hype= over priced vehicle and feeble infrastructure
Most vehicles don't buy then again they don't need to gas stations are plentiful and you can fuel up fast to 100%. On a side note I regularly go 800-900 miles between fueling in a tractor trailer.
There are only so many rich early adopters. Aside from these, most are turned off by high prices, range issues, cold weather degradation, expensive charging station prices, etc. 😢
EV enthusiasts keep using words like "inevitable". I really don't think they understand what that word means (and the inherent stupidity of the EV movement)
EVs have actually been around for over 100 years. Progress is slow....if not retrograde. I never saw a milk float go up in self generated combustion. The manufacturers have been 'burned' badly and won't want risk more failure.
Cars suck these days anyway no matter what powers them. They are bland and boring and look all the same. Forget how many times I’ve come out of a shop to try to enter the wrong car “ albeit the same colour. They are all basically identical. If they are basically the same size vehicle 🚗. 🙄🇬🇧🚘
The biggest problem is at end of life of the battery. The batteries become landfill and every battery is full of toxic materials. These materials will contaminate your groundwater for ever. This is a massive environmental disaster in the making.
The longer the batteries sit on the lot, the less efficient they become. Cold weather? Good luck when buying that EV that has been sitting for 8 months.
Not only is driving, riding and cycling any EV, a pathetic experience feeling, it goes nowhere. Milk floats are fine, fir delivering milk to houses. That's all folks.
I asked a co worker the other day if he ever has calculated the monthly cost to charge his EV and he said it was free because he has solar panels on his house. I just laughed at him. You can’t fix stupid.

You mean dictated.
there is nothing broken in the EV world, because it was never built right in the first place . Government subsidies, marketing hype= over priced vehicle and feeble infrastructure
Battery cars! The joke that just keeps giving.
The only bigger joke is the jockeys that purchased them😂👌
Why would Anyone buy a LithiumDeathhThread in the First Place !?!?
The Mustang Mach E makes me sick 🤢
I've never owned a vehicle I could go 650 miles without a fill up.
Bah, had a truck back in the 90's that could beat that no problem. F-150 with dual gas tanks.
Most vehicles don't buy then again they don't need to gas stations are plentiful and you can fuel up fast to 100%. On a side note I regularly go 800-900 miles between fueling in a tractor trailer.
i refuse to buy EVs...i stick w/gas...it's cheaper in long term
E mustang , ha, we want to hear a V8 not some sissy electric mustang.
There are only so many rich early adopters. Aside from these, most are turned off by high prices, range issues, cold weather degradation, expensive charging station prices, etc. 😢
.... CCP just closed off the Lithium mines.
EVs are screwed
1% of people really love EVs. The rest of us don't.
Save Ford money, don't buy that crap.
The Ev market is already pretty much dead!
You have no idea how wrong you are. Check the numbers yourself, don't believe the media.
EV's Are Dead you just don't want to admit it,
Ford cars have always had FIREpower starting with the pinto
Discount the vehicle...Crank up the repair costs to recoup losses.
EV enthusiasts keep using words like "inevitable". I really don't think they understand what that word means (and the inherent stupidity of the EV movement)
переход в никуда вам обеспечен,никакого электро будущего не будет 100%.
EV’s now are like cell phones in the 90’s they are going to get a million times better
Except we already have a better product for the purpose. We didn't have gas-powered cell phones with better batteries and versatility already
u mean i will get brain tumors easier and bigger...YES!
EVs have actually been around for over 100 years. Progress is slow....if not retrograde. I never saw a milk float go up in self generated combustion. The manufacturers have been 'burned' badly and won't want risk more failure.
Batteries really aren’t going to get that much better. Moore’s law is for transistors, not batteries. Chemistry is chemistry.
So it sounds like you're saying that everyone should wait to buy them when they don't suck?
Cars suck these days anyway no matter what powers them. They are bland and boring and look all the same. Forget how many times I’ve come out of a shop to try to enter the wrong car “ albeit the same colour. They are all basically identical. If they are basically the same size vehicle 🚗. 🙄🇬🇧🚘
Self inflicted. Listen to progressive bureaucrats that worship EVs and reap the low sales. EVs are a novelty item for upper middle class.
The biggest problem is at end of life of the battery. The batteries become landfill and every battery is full of toxic materials. These materials will contaminate your groundwater for ever. This is a massive environmental disaster in the making.
I will never own an EV. Period.
Having your car battery catch on fire is so inconvenient.
Ford is Recall King and works hard to retain that position. Quality is job……unknown.
The longer the batteries sit on the lot, the less efficient they become. Cold weather? Good luck when buying that EV that has been sitting for 8 months.
The problems stated at the beginning. Slapping a Mustang badge on an electric family sedan doesn't make it a mustang
If you're talking about Ford, why do you show Stellantis dealerships?
The money car manufacturer's lose they planned to make back on the extremely expensive battery.
EV trucks should come with a diesel generators in the bed. HI HI.
One more reason for the challenges. It's too tempting to heckle Ford's CEO with "chuck you Farley."
EV MANDATES HAVE ALWAYS BEEN ABOUT INCOME REDISTRIBUTION......FJB
EVs are either to hot or to cold ....😅
I’m from uk and hate Evs we have them where I work and they are a pain I would never buy one
EVs are a joke
Not only is driving, riding and cycling any EV, a pathetic experience feeling, it goes nowhere.
Milk floats are fine, fir delivering milk to houses. That's all folks.
I asked a co worker the other day if he ever has calculated the monthly cost to charge his EV and he said it was free because he has solar panels on his house. I just laughed at him. You can’t fix stupid.
Ford better follow through and flush the toilet on dealerships.
I want to thank all the electric car owners for saving the planet 😂.
I notice there are no EVs in the presidential motorcades…now why is that?
