I have my own pest control company and bedbugs are the most difficult pest to eliminate. I only do them if the homeowner lets me fumigate the house, which means putting a tent over the house and they leave for 2 1/2 days. The plaintiff is correct, they do not move from trailer to trailer, unless they are in blankets or suitcases or some type of clothing. The defendant is completely ignorant about bedbugs. I think he was too cheap to pay someone to treat them properly.
How much would it cost to treat a trailer for BBs?
I had to fight them and calling out the so called pros 3 times just cost me $750 with poor results.
I found a cheap $20 all natural spray and 2 bottles cleared up
Three soak down treatments three weeks apart. We burned all our furniture. Laundered everything twice high heat driers ..ruined our lives for a yr. A nightmare
@@TRAZ4004 buy Eco-Raider spray and follow the simple instructions. No need to fumigate or leave the home. Not only have I used it successfully I’ve seen others do the same.
We all had hired exterminators but ended up using this spray

Bedbugs are traumatizing. JJ has NO CLUE. We put all of our stuff in storage for a year because we couldn’t get rid of them even after having the house treated MULTIPLE times. Had to starve them suckers out to kill them, and it cost me 4K total!! It is in the top 5 worst events of my life and I’ve been through a lot. Trust me, they are a nightmare.
I had to literally sophocate mine by putting my belongings in garbage bags in tying them time with bug off spray, it was insane

@@babiifrshj07 yes, we were in a large 6BR home, so replacing everything was just not an option, although we did replace some of the mattresses.
Let me tell you, I freaking cried when I got them lol. I’m still not over the trauma they caused but at least they’re gone

I hate them too! I moved in with a friend of mines. I sleapt on the couch and it had bed bugs on them (with out me knowing). For about a weeks I was getting Eaten up (NOT knowing what was going on). Eventually I had Boils (YES Boils) from those Demon Bastard Parasites on my hands and arms !!!
It's all gone, that was over 12 years ago, but I still have Markings on my skin because of those Bugs! I hate them more then Mosquitos!
I didn't have bedbugs but fleas and I felt the exact same way. Ended up having to bomb the entire house fortunately it worked.

Do you know what happens to most of the smartest and intellectual people? They're raised in a poor environment. I wasn't given an opportunity to go to college because I CAN'T AFFORD IT. Even if I did go and gather student debt, whats the guarantee that I get the job I studied and went to school for? Very minimal. Going to school doesn't do shit for kids, it's having caring and understanding people working in the school systems that help kids, and christ knows how shit the school systems are.

Once Again, I get upset whenever Judge Judy says to people who have no money, "You should've moved out, if you didn't like where you were living," as if everyone has the money for the first, last, and security, in their bank account, as if everyone is rich, as she is.
Exactly my mom gets frusterated when ever she says that. Not everyone , like you said has money like she does.
Only broke people take offense to her stance on the issue of moving from a place that is no longer habitable. If you broke, poor, and destitute, just say that and keep it pushing.

Untrue.They do not travel from one home to another but if you are talking about one building, that could be correct. They can travel on people's clothing though, to other locations
The plaintiff was so focused on the statement part that said they travel from home to home. She missed the point. They travel! It doesn't matter how they get there they can get there and if not addressed they will infest.

Bed bugs are an expensive nightmare! Worse than cockroaches by far. The most stressful year of our lives as a family sad dealing with them. We quarantined from family and friends long before Covid, lol. People think I’m a snob & a worrier for not buying things second hand unless I can wash & dry them. It’s simply that I’ve realized that saving a dime cost me hundreds of dollars in the end. Unless it’s washable on hot, able to be put in a hot dryer for 2 hours, and/or sealed up, it’s not worth the risk! Worst thing the government did was outlaw DDT because that was one of the most effective chemicals against those buggars!
Ddt lead to the endangerment of several birds-of-prey because of biomagnification, leading to shell thinning and neurological damage. Do some research because making a statement like you did at the end of your comment.
I’ve started steaming brand new clothing before I put them in my drawers or closet because of them. They are stressful as heck and I do not wish them on even my worst enemies.
Brought home bed bugs from an ex's house and it took 2 months to treat the infestation. Was living with my parents. I discovered them when I woke up to one biting me. I checked my sheets and there were 3 crawling around. I had a pleated bed skirt and they were in every single crevice of the skirt. Hundreds. Eggs, nymphs, adults, corpses. I almost threw up. Collected a few to show the exterminator. My mom was PISSED and could not comprehend that they didn't get there because of filth. I spent my whole life cleaning to avoid them. Spent two months in the spare bedroom and when I moved back into my room, I couldn't sleep for weeks despite throwing everything away and having treatments and follow ups.
It's a nightmare. I have Bed Bug PTSD. Every time I feel a tickle in my sheets, I spend about an hour searching the bedroom and my heart skips a beat if I see a dark crumb or fuzz.
My mom got bed bugs from her upstairs neighbor. What made it worse was the fact she was fighting for her life in the hospital during that time.
What a strange audience laughing at these circumstances. Poor man.
that's what these shows are for - most of them are a lot worse than Judge Judy, but to some degree they all like to make a spectacle out of poor people in unfortunate circumstances.

If you live somewhere, you must pay rent. Its not everyones fault that you dont have enough money to move. Thats what the law is. It doesnt care what you feel
I’m pretty sure she does know. But if we keep thinking blaming the circumstances we will not take action on anything in our lives and will just stay hopeless. That’s not a good mindset to have. Plus he has to pay rent, regardless.

So I brought bed bugs home from a hotel stay while traveling for work. I had stayed at a higher end Embassy Suites, which is a 4.5 star hotel in the area I was staying in. Bed bugs are not related to filth or dirty people, but just to geographical areas and will hitch rides on anything and everything. The luggage hold and overhead bins in airplanes are one of the most infested places as many overseas folks fly in and they bring the critters in on their suitcases. Which then gives them free reign to crawl into someone else's suitcase and the cycle continues.
They are IMPOSSIBLE to eradicate unless you superheat/fumigate. I did more research than I care to say as I was their primary meal source for days and days and I literally developed PTSD from all of the bites, as well as infections at many bite sites.
Bed bugs have to be dessicated to kill them. They have a very hard exoskeleton and any bug killer has to penetrate and then dry out their inside body to kill them. Which nearly all bug killers are ineffective in doing so. Diatomaceous Earth is one treatment and the only over the counter treatment that can help some, but that is only if they crawl through it and take up the powder which will then dry out and kill their bodies. If it's just sprinkled or sprayed on them, and they don't crawl through it, it will not work. Also, you may think they have been killed off, but they can live for 3 or more years, in an absolutely dormant, near dead state in the walls, baseboards, mattresses, chairs, clothing, electronics (they were inside of my laptop from working at the desk in my hotel room!) etc without ANY food or fluids. Then when a tasty food source comes along - us! (Fyi- they feed around 2-3 am and are attracted to the carbon dioxide we breathe off) they wake up and get to snacking. Super heating the home, which gets into the crawl spaces, baseboards, furniture, clothing, electronics, books, etc. Is the ONLY way to get rid of them for good. No other treatment/pest control company or process can or will guarantee eradication without super heating fumigation.
Yeah I've heard about hotels having bed bugs.I would never want to stay in any.I've never felt comfortable sleeping in those nasty beds.

For those of you dealing with this, I also suggest steaming the affected areas and placing diatomaceous earth on the baseboards, doorways and around furniture if the chemical bb killers weren’t enough. May have to put them where the mattress and bedframe meet as well. You might have to steam a couple of more times and sweep up the DE if you find dead bedbugs but it’s usually suggested to keep the DE around for 3-4 weeks so it doesn’t take too long.
I just got rid of those little bastards recently and thankfully, there weren’t a lot of them to infest other rooms of my apartment and it was just isolated to my bed frame and headboard. I was lucky enough to catch it early.
These were also new items I brought 5 months ago and I am still paying for them so I didn’t want to throw these items out too. My mattress was already Incased so the mattress was saved.
I had to go the “natural route” since my building management were extremely useless and never bothered to get back to me or send an exterminator. The reason for that is “they’re changing the management,” yea ok. My super ended up doing a lot of the work and sprayed bed bug spray and later wrapped the two items in plastic and used a chemical he brought. I followed up by continuously spraying the room to the point of napalming it on a near daily basis and quarantining the room by not sleeping in it. (I later found out that was a bad idea since bed bugs follow the hosts to other rooms so I personally don’t suggest it.) ended up finding a lot of dead ones but it still wasn’t enough to make me feel better so the DE and the steaming we’re basically the final nail to the bedbug coffins.
I now steam furniture as part of my deep cleaning. It might seem overboard but it also gives me peace of mind and as long as those little fuckers don’t have the opportunity to appear, the better it is for my mental well being.
Anyway, thanks for reading and hope this helps anyone in a similar situation. By the way, I didn’t get a professional steamer and brought a little one off Amazon for 50-60 bucks that has multiple uses. It’s great for anyone who wants to save money but pests need to be dealt by professionals and I always suggest the professional route if you got the funds for it

Bed bugs are AWFUL. My apartment had them and they only treated my unit. Which THANK God took care of the problem. But after that, i NEVER had anyone over again. I'm still traumatized. Im scared to even go to peoples houses. They reproduce SO FAST AND are so HARD to get rid of.

When I 1st moved to Fl, 9yrs ago, and have moved to Pa since then I lived in a mobile home park kinda like I'm assuming this 1 was. 1st time in my life we rented, I had 3 dogs and had to take something quick who accepted pets. Lived there 6 months, length of lease, and bought a house within 6 months after working hard and saving. I've NEVER had roaches b4 or after, AC window unit was put in was full of roaches, NASTY. I understand financially feeling stuck, and impression I get from owners is, I don't live there cause I'm 2 good, but I want rent with little upkeep

Bed bugs don't walk or fly or move around by themselves as do roaches and other bugs. Bed bugs only get from one place to another by hitchhiking in bedsheets, couches, mattresses, etc.
Bed bugs can hitch a ride on shoe laces, shoes, bottom of pants, backpacks, bags, and the lists goes on and on. It's horrible.

Lavender and marigold plants help to get rid of bed bugs. It takes time (couple of weeks to months) but they do help in getting rid of these pesky pests.

I have seen ppl who live in aprt and have bedbugs on their mattress and closet. The spread fast. They dump their mattress by dumpster and other ppl took it instantly. I feel sorry for those ppl who took that mattress. So it will continue spreading whole apprt complex for sure.

bed bugs jump onto the cuffs of trousers and ride to other ppl's homes....the plaintiff is right in that they don't walk there. We;ve had trouble with our Library (!) because ppl have been sitting on their padded benches and then taking bed bugs home with them.

I had to look up what bedbugs look like on google images because the comments here absolutely terrified me. Thank goodness I never experienced them before. Or roaches. But I would rather have roaches ANY day of the week.
You don’t want roaches either lol. I had an old neighbor in my old apartment building who kept loads of pet food under her sink which attracted them. Unfortunately since my neighbor and I shared the same pipeline they also traveled to my apartment. I later found out other neighbors nearby were making complaints because the roachies were traveling into their apartments as well. I held them off by cleaning weekly and spraying Fabuloso around the sink area (where they entered) and covering the bottom part of my door using a towel. It absolutely made a huge difference but it would have helped completely if they were stopped at the source.

I've had bed bugs. Not that difficult to deal with. Yes it's annoying and a bit labour intensive. But very manageable and not a reason to move.

Yeah I had a mild infestation at my old apartment and was able to get rid of them. I went to Home Depot and purchased 2 gallons of Harris Bed Bug Spray, Hot Shot, mixed Cinnamon essential oil and Peppermint in water (they hate that smell). And it worked for me in 2 weeks.
Mine was also mild to the point that I just found them on two items of furniture (they didn’t take over much thankfully.) They were easy to deal with using steam, diatomaceous earth and pesticides but still traumatic to deal with a since I’m extremely anxious, OCDish and overall a mental mess lol

Other tenants have the right to have bedbugs if they want and own their trailer. Pest control can't be forced on them.

Bed bugs absolutely travel. That's why it's common knowledge to not place your suitcase/luggage on your bed when you're at a hotel. If a tenant complains of bed bugs, it's a landlords duty to investigate. Infestations will only lose you money in the long run.
