    I've actually done a video on my channel before making one of these. This is a bit more of an updated version. I did however make a mistake and did not need to punch the extra hole (you will see what I mean when you watch it). Still, for those that were wondering how I make my tinder bag/pouch, this is how. Cheers!

      First let me say I enjoy all your content. Since finding your channel I have been Binge watching back episodes. Although I love the bag, on a strictly survival sense a simple Tupperware type container would be water immersion proof. I'm still going to make some of the bags!

    A great return to SHED SUNDAY! The tinder pouch appears to be the ideal starter project for working in leather. As you point out, the inside of your shed is jam-packed but neat; not cluttered. The lighting is good for the video.

    Great tutorial! I'm going to make this and give it to my father for Christmas. Lifehack: the screw driver method is just fine but I used a big plate to draw the circle.

    Nice job, can never have too many pouches, a good thing to do is use different coloured Paracord so you know which one you're opening 😉👍

    One way to help the bag "to find its shape". Damp the leather with water first, then load it full with something soft (pieces of cloth, towel etc.) to the maximum load. Close the pouch, make sure that all the folds in the leather are folded the way you want, and the just let it dry. Once wet and then dried leather will keep the shape it dried into quite well.

    hi
    there is a style that looks like a pear fruit used to be for money/coins
    if I remember correctly it's made from many pieces of leather
    it has a circle as a base then there are long flat pieces sewn together
    I hope that I described it correctly but it is so beautiful looking pouch/bag
    I don't know if you know how to make it
    if you do would kindly make a post teaching viewers how to cut and make
    thank you

    I'm a pipe smoker. I'd like to see how I might bring my pipes and tobacco with me on a camping trip. Any ideas for a good way to do that?

    • @jamesellsworth9673
      @jamesellsworth9673 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tobacco pouches could be 'pursed' with a leather thong, secured by a slider. I am familiar with two types of tobacco pouches, both of which are lined with things like silk and rubber or 'rubberized' sheeting. A typical closure is like Mike's elastic snap closure only mine were made long ago and used a metal spring set. Most of my pouches are zipper closed with a baffle behind the zipper to keep moisture and aromatics inside. Regular pipe smokers can be less fastidious, using a small pouch to keep a daily amount of tobacco on their person and relying on a humidor for refills as needed. Or, these days, one could use a ZipLoc bag insert into a leather pouch with a lace and toggle.

    When you'd drawn the circle (Or even before that) why didn't you change the size, could have easily got another inch or two all the way around on that bit of leather. Unfortunately I got a load of leather sheets offcuts a while ago with this in mind but I mistook inches for cm... Ended up with a whole stack of leather 15x15 cm lol
