Key doesn't have to be in the cup holder to start it. If you ever have a hard to getting key to connect to the car though you can pop the cap off where a normal ignition would be and put it in there beside the transponder
these cars also have a dual mass flywheel that should be changed with the clutch, doesnt typically last much longer than the clutch and certainly not as long as a standard flywheel.
These cars dont suffer with DMF issues like the mk3. I think due to the power delivery being much smoother and more linear. Mine has 230k on its original clutch and DMF.
The Tit X Is highest trim but doesnt mean it has all bells and whisles (atleast in europe). I got myself a Tit X after long time looking for daily. A lot of stuff you needed to pay extra for. (Memory seats, chilled seats, adaptive cruise control etc). Your key doesnt need to go in cupholder you can keep it in your pocket. Little tip You can get your converse updated with modified version of software so it shows more info about car (battery voltage, better menus, visual parking sensors) well worth the update. Clutch is piece of cake job if youre not counting that heavy subframe or trans.. :D The engine is PSA peugeot engine very reliable one :) Those headlight are really nice Adaptive halogen headlights. In my experience if you put good LEDs theyre awesome. Love mine mondeo, such a comfy daily :)
They also did a titanium x Sport that came with red stitching on the seats, alloy pedals a body kit and 19”wheels, windows are blue tinted on the early ones! There is also a version of the dashboard with a big sat nav screen
Look forward to it. You don't have to remove the subframe on these for a clutch, you can just remove the bolts on offside and subframe will lower enough to sit the box on it. Alan Howatt on here does a lot on these.
And after driving my Mk3 for the past 10 years, I bought my first Mk4 just a few days before this was uploaded after browsing the Marketplace too. Mines a 61 plate econetic and I absolutely love it.
Alan howatt is well worth watching. Runs a fleet of mondeo 2.0 tdci taxis in huntingdon. Change dmf as well as clutch. My old mk4 I ran from 90k to 170k in just over 2 years...was still on its original clutch. Even on its original front discs at 150k miles. Very very reliable. The mk5 mondeo I brought to replace makes the mk4 look like a mini. Titanium x sport is highest spec. My mother who is 70 still has hers and loves it.
We had a 2.2tdci diesel titanium X sport auto estate in panther black for a while 4 years ago. Proper big old load lugger, with a turn of speed should you need it, heated and cooled seats were dead comfy, riding on 19" ' snowflake?' alloys.
The 07/57 plates had Bluetooth for phone connection only! You have to upgrade the Bluetooth module to enable the Bluetooth music streaming! And as for the centre screen you wish it had! Look into the standard Blaupunkt NX satnav/climate unit
Being a Titanium X then the interior cloth is Alcantara and the seats are not just heated but cooled too for the summer... If you're doing the clutch then it's likely you'll need to replace the dual mass flywheel or to replace it with a solid flywheel conversion, which are available...
I have the brochures for 2007 & 2008 MK4 Mondeo (+ 2010 MK4.5 Facelift) So, Colour is "Thunder", Leather & Alcantara seats & Blue tinted windows were standard on Titanium X. Those Heated rear seats were an option as was Bluetooth in 2007 (became standard across the range in 2008). Titanium X was top of the range in 2007. Titanium X Sport did not appear until 2008. Although the body kit and 18" wheels were available as an option, so you could make any Mk4 look like a Titanium X Sport even in 2007! As they did on Casino Royale! As already mentioned engine is Ford/PSA and effectively replaced the Ford "Puma" diesel engine used in the Mk3 Mondeo.
The diesels fitted in the mk4 mondeo are all PSA & Ford Codeveloped engines bar the 1.8tdci. The 2 DW engines are the DW10 which is the 2.0tdci and DW12 which is the 2.2tdci. Where as the mk3 mondeo is ZSD-420 for the 2.0 tdci and ZSD-422 for the 2.2tdci which were Ford's own built diesels. With the DW engines after the 10 or 12 there will be a space and a few letters and numbers that follow like DW10 BTED4. This signifies the output of the engine or the revision.
its a bluetooth stereo. most of the stereos for the MK4 mondeos usually break down after a couple of years or if the battery is compleatly discarged and bluetooth module above the glovebox is also giving in after a while, so you will loose connection and stuff. i just replaced mine for a android unit with Bluetooth, Navigation, DAB+, FM etc that works with the SWC and converse. its worth it.
Glad to see you back pal 👍🏻. Ive owned 40+ of these (rented taxis)The orange dust in the engine bay is dust and debris from the DMF breaking up. It goes rusty over time. It gets into everything. It will of got into the slave cylinder and burst the seals. Lift the pedal back up before disconnecting the slave cylinder. Make sure you clean everything properly when putting back together. Even the starter motor. Try not to breath the dust in either pal. It is nasty stuff 👍🏻
Nice! The titanium x sport is the highest spec mate, and then there were a few extra choices on top, sub in boot, rear dvd screens, 8 way memory seats/ mirrors, rear heated seats pre face only, adaptive cruise, rear blinds, solar windscreen, lane assist, and a few other bits. There was a touchscreen in these, an option though, with reverse camera etc I have a 63 plate 2.2 TXS with most of the extras, best car I've ever owned. The boot has probably been opened because they tend to leak in the boot, through wiring grommets and some other areas. I know quite a bit about the mk4, so if you need any info try me, good luck with the project 👌 and you may find you'll keep it after its fixed, they drive great
These are superb cars James - I have a Titanium X Sport estate as a run around - it will do over 55mpg on a run, carry wardrobes, is incredibly comfortable and is very carefully looked after. It has the full sat nav etc - which was everything you could have in this car in 2008. Still looks great, nil rust and has been 100% completely reliable. To be honest I can't think of any other car at any price that could replace it (despite having far newer and powerful V8 cars in our stable). If you repair yours - it should last forever!
Engine is a D4204T engine. Peugeot. Can be found in Volvo's, Peugeot,Renaults. Clutch and dual mass do fail around 140,000 but Luk do a kit for £350. Easy job to change.
The 2.0 tdci is a good engine. Had a focus with the same engine and I ran it up to near 300k miles without any serious issue. The same engine is fitted to any number of Volvo's, Peugeot's, Citroens etc of the same era so it is a reliable lump if not the most economical.
The car also comes with global opening/closing for the windows. When you open the car with the key fob on the second press hold down the open button and all 4 windows will fully open (great in summer). Also they will dot he same to close if you use the close button on the fob in the same way
That little ding on the corner, 4:45, if you’re going to get that out bare in mind the bolts going from the bumper into the wing bracket seize, every Mondeo front end I’ve ever done I’ve had to belt sand the bolts off or cut the bumper off.
Good to see you back. I think thats a QWXB engine same as I have in my Galaxy. You need to change the flywheel with the clutch but It would be good to see a real life review of a SMF conversion.
Yes that's a top of top of the Ford mondeo range . If you find it doesn't start for some reason you probably will find a dry joint the cars instrument panel you find it on the instrument panel electrical board.
Can't wait to see the content on this! I have a 2008 Mk4 for so looking forward to learning some new things with this project. I believe the Mk4's also have knee airbags as well so a very safe car
Wouldn't surprise me if it has ventilated seats as well. When you press the heated seat button you should be able to go in both directions, red is heated and blue is ventilated. Seat pattern/texture leans towards having both!
If you're going to fit a new clutch on a mk4 Mondeo it's always worth doing the dual mass flywheel, they are usually more problem than the clutch and you don't want to be dropping the gearbox twice. Only problem is they are expensive. Looking forward to watching this new project James
I just got a mk4 estate Mondeo 2.2tdci the other week. They are good cars loads of little features. They have the welcome windows hold the unlock button drops the windows and lock raises them, double armrests storage
Hi James, Good to see you back and with a new project. There's a guy on YT who maintains a fleet of Mondeo taxis, and has done most things on these cars - Alan Howatt
Have a 2.0 tdci 2009 mondeo zetec that I've owned from 6 months old. It's an ex demonstrator so has factory fitted sports pack, privacy glass and parking sensors. I bought a non-runner Titanium X identical to this one to upgrade my zetec. Swapped the interior and all the other better spec parts. By the way, the heated rear seats are an extremely rare optional extra on these, in fact I thought they were only available in mainland Europe.
For these cars the clutch was quite known to fail after 100~120K for caravan-towers. Dual mass flywheel is also known to have a expiry date. So basically you need to order the full-package...
Best car in its class. I think Alan Howatt has said the dual Mass Flywheel lasts aprox 2 clutches on the mk4...and that the Original clutches last 140 to 160k so hopefully this is the original clutch. You can check the DMF for play when the clutch is removed anyway. Engines are bombproof with basic servicing.
Freaking Titanium trim Mondeo for that price is mental. One of the first cars I know of with adaptive cruise. Better specced out than a lot of MK7 Golfs!
With a good clean up and some mk4 mondeo snowflake alloys and it will look spot on, the engine is a peugeot engine and is a tough unit, decent gains from a remap too. Enjoy
Hi nice to see you back,I’ve got a mk4 2.2 titanium x estate 61 plate .Its great down the motor way but a bit heavy on the clutch.Havent got heated seats at the back only front. But front dashboard has a sat nav .All the best on your project, can’t wait to watch you
Hi James. Firstly good to see you back. I was hoping that maybe you will one day get MK4 MONDEO, although I personally would love to have MK3 ST just like yours, but the road tax for them ST's, it's a F****** robbery! Anyway, I have MK4 MONDEO TITANIUM X just like yours, in exactly the same colour and engine with 140HP. I have done a few bits on it throughout last two years of owning it. Firstly that boot - it's a very common problem. Rain is collecting around the glass and every time you open a boot, rain is dripping down inside the car and on the plastic trims for parcel shelf and down to underneath the back seats. It's a lot of damp and moisture collecting there - I know. Few days ago I had discovered that noise reduction sponge underneath of the back seats was absolutely soaked through. I was forced to spend few days with a heater fan and hair dryer inside my car, trying to dry it out 🤯. It's a very annoying problem - it's makes a bad smell inside a car not to mention that condensation on the back windows... I will try to fit some sort of a seal inside the boot to stop the rain from getting underneath the back seats. My other plan is to fill up the gap between back glass, so the rain wouldn't had a chance to collect on top and bottom of the glass?! Front headlights full of condensation - that is another big problem with those MK4 MONDEOS. Not only the Projector style ones, but mostly... I have tried to use an adhesive sealant but it didn't work ( driver side ). I have replaced those rubber tubes at the back of a headlights unit, which should help air circulation inside a housing, it didn't work. I tried to block those rubber tubes to block the air flow - it only made it worse. I have fitted a H7 LED bulbs, with a little fan at the back of each of them, hoping that those little fans would take the heat from LEDS and distribute it around inside of the headlight unit and get rid of condensation - it didn't work. Although, the road ahead, is a lot better illuminated. A lot better! Passenger side went a bit better, maybe because I have used a special sealant for gutters repair, but it takes a long time for a sealant to cure. This seems to work better. Front fog lights suffer similar issue - condensation. They are getting a bit milky, but it is easy fix. Just thin microfiber cloth and window cleaner and some cotton buds sticks to get in to narrow spaces - definitely a bit fiddly. The biggest problem - and it's a real bastard of a job - is REAR TRAILING ARM BUSHES!!!!🤯🤯🤯 It's EXPENSIVE! SPECIAL TOOLS ARE NEEDED! Wheels are losing their tracking and tyres are being destroyed very, very very quickly! I'm still waiting to have mine done - lack of funds 😭. I can't wait to see you replacing wing mirrors. I have purchased a led replacement panels for " puddle lights ", but I don't know how to replace them, without damaging a cables harness. It looks like connectors are protected with some sort of heat shrink type of sleeves and the only way to disassemble them would be by cutting through them heat shrink...? Can you get your broken one a part so we could see what is hiding inside them? Please?! Your model, just like mine comes with Bluetooth connectivity which on my car I only discovered by accident. How much did you have to pay for new/spare headlight unit and where did you get it from? Do you have a access to ForScan maybe? Bastards at Ford have deactivated a very important function for which you as a owner would have to pay for get it back on! I'm talking about central locking not being activated, once a car had went over 20mph! Just imagine, you have stopped at traffic lights, with your belongings at the back seats or even on a front passenger seat and your car Central locking is not active! Someone can see your staff through a window and know about it or maybe just going to try open the doors - puff - all of your precious belongings are gone! It's very possible! You have to remember to lock your car every time before you drive anywhere. I need to have this function active again ! There is a lot of good and educational videos on TH-cam and I can definitely recommend checking out a few channels - Allan Howatt, Bodgit & leggit, Nigel Ealand, I'm getting fond of my Mondeo with every successful repair that I can get done by myself. And fuel consumption is very good compering to my previous 2.1 V6X-type, but not as comfortable unfortunately. Good luck, James and keep making those videos m8 !
that may have cooled seat aswell as heated just keep pressing the button in the of and if i remember the lights go from the top down wards plus the radio is intergrated with the clock display
The stronger Diesel in the Prefacelift MK4 is a 2.2L TDCI with 175hp the Petrol version is a 2.5L 5 cylinder with 220hp from the focus ST The facelift has also a 2.2L TDCI but 200hp and the petrol version is 2L EcoBoost with 240HP
Titanium X Sport is the highest spec. I bought one just before xmas, 2009 with a dead engine for £600. Its all up and running now. Its good to see one of these on the channel as not many people do them
Gonna need a full kit mate DMF everything. It sounds looks like just hydraulics but you might as well do everything while in there because believe me there is a lot to take apart on these cars to get to that clutch/DMF/CSC. You’d know if the DMF had gone because it would sound terrible while running. Also they jam solid on the flywheel and need cutting off to get access to the bolts. Good luck, can’t wait to see the upcoming videos on it 👍
The red dust under bonnet is iron dust... we had it with a similar engined smax- it’s dmf failed eventually and it’s bay was just like this... As said Alan Howatt has loads on his channel
Had one of these cars in panther black was a lovely car to drive until a HGV kindly wrote it off, would have another one in heart beat. Good to have you back looking forward to this project car.
Nice one. Had a Mondeo just like this, estate version, same engine and with the great 6 speed Aisin autobox...loved it and very hesitantly had to let it go because of some DPF issues. Really looking forward to this series.....cheers.
Change the dmf aswell, just had my clutch and flywheel done ! Common for the flywheel to break down and fileings go into the starter. Make sense to do the flywheel too
couple of thing to look out for check the spare wheel well for water can buy weather strips off ebay to solve that problem, check passenger foot well for water aswell as cabin filter some times alouds water in. other than that one of the best cars had mine mk4 for years never let me down.
Awesome find James. Looking forward to the ‘Mondeo 2.1’ series. As some others have stated earlier in the comments about replacing the DMF. I’m a mechanic myself and only reccomend replacing the DMF when it’s causing problems e.g rattling and vibrations at high speeds. When you have the box out you can decide for yourself if you would like to fit one, personally I would not go to the added unnecessary expense. I have done a good few of these clutches and only ever had to replace the DMF 3 times. Good to have you back.
Have you had a look to see if the car had had a tow bar fitted in the past, might be why the cover was off in the boot and the sticker in windscreen might be a clue. If it has been used for towing you might want to see when the timing belt was last replaced😉
Loved my TXS as well. Oh well onto my Mk5 now, my 3rd Mondeo! The TXS had a 2.2 engine, red stitching on the seats, steering wheel, gearstick gator, piano black and fake carbon fibre dash inserts and then on the outside a bodykit. However for the most part its the same as what James has just bought and the 2.0l engine is more common so easier to get parts for.
Welcome back, as far as I'm aware the Titanium X Sport was the range topper, although i don't think there's a lot of difference in spec, just the body kit and red stitched half leather interior. I had a Panther black 2.2 TDCi TXS, it was a great car, looking forward to seeing you sort this one out.....consider changing the Dual Mass Flywheel when you change the clutch.
A good test you can do Is using some mole grips you can clamp off the flexi line to the slave and if the pedal becomes stiff again you know it is going to be the slave rather than the clutch master! Love this vids
Nice to see you saving it mate of it had got in to the wrong hands could well have ended up been scrapped. Nice to see its gonna live another day. Good video mate
My dad had the S-Max which is the same as the Mondeo MK4! Call me weird, but that convers+ screen is one of the best set of dials Ford ever made in my opinion. I like them a lot!
Nice to see you back m8..👍 You're responsible for me having a go at my 1st Mini cooper r50 head..We actually purchased them at the same time.Same year same colour.. Couldn't believe when you was gonna be doing the same job. It was like havin you there with me 🤣🤣. Since then it's been complete brake replacement all round,Driveshafts, balljoints clutch then gearbox replacement. And no doubt the story will continue..Thanks again for giving me the confidence..
ford there are two pumps on the clutch one on the pedal and one on the clutch itself use the brake fluid so there is a cistern if one is leaking you will not have brakes
Can sense the de-bonded rear trailing arm bushes from here 😂, like others have said the DMF will most likely want replacing also. Rear main seals leak for fun on them 2.0 lumps so wouldn’t be a bad idea to get one of them also. The model above this (Titanium X Sport) was available with the 2.2 diesel (like you get in a Freelander 2, etc) and a 2.5 petrol 5 cylinder turbo (same as the Mk2 focus ST), later models came instead with the 2.0 ecoboost from the Mk3 Focus ST. Anyway looking forward to see how you get on with this one 👍.
I had that issue with the clutch pedal dropping to the floor on a 54 plate Astra H. It turned out that a spring clip inside the plastic elbow/bleed nipple that sits on top of the bell housing and connected the hydraulic pipe to the slave cylinder had rusted to peaces causing the elbow to leak. It cost about £15 to replace and I didn’t even have to bleed the clutch afterwards as it stiffened up after a few pumps of the pedal🙂
Hi James glad your back, hope you enjoyed your break every needs little time off. Just an idea, why dont you face the front end of the car towards back gate so you walk less everytime you take tools to and from the garage and vis versa. I think I have OCD issues LOL, but I always look for ways to make things easier I.e less walking, It also adds another area behind the wall for storing tool when your not near the car. Passersby can have little picky fingers if you know what I mean! Looking forward to this gearbox issue. Loved the skoda gearbox rebuild
Good to have you back with the Mondeo. I started watching you after I bought my first Mondeo. I recently sold my MK3 2.2 from 2006 and bought MK4 2.0 from 2014. What an upgrade. Can't wait to see more from you. All the best from Croatia.
Lovely cars the mk4s especially high specification ones like yours! The face-lift titanium x sports versions are beautiful 😍 especially in red! For me they have aged incredibly well. Much better than the vauxhall insignia!
Nice to see you back Mate. Been waiting patiently for a video to pop up after the Skoda series (which I thoroughly enjoyed), and glad you had a break and have now found a new project car.
I did this job on a MK 3 Mondeo. Also replaced the flywheel since it was sagging inside the bellhousing. The first clue was the starter motor filled with aluminium dust and the grim noise. Suggest that you check the health of that dual mass bastard while in there. Looking forward to the follow-up. Best of wishes!!
Normally when the dual mass flywheel fails it can covers the engine and box in metal dust, it then rusts and gives you thats red dust... definitely look at the flywheel when you get the box off this is probably what coursed the slave cylinder to collapse... keep up the good video 👍🏽
recently came across your channel and ive got to say i really enjoy your content, you buy humble cheap cars and do them up. this titanium is really nice, its got all the modern bells and whistles for a fairly old car, love it!
Fantastic car, Fantastic buy, i have 58 plate titanium x 2.0 tdci, brilliant cars! I would suggest taking the hit and changing the dual mass flywheel and crankshaft seal while your there, the flywheel's are not cheap but if your looking to keep the car they genrally wont last longer than the clutch and if your looking to sell it after it will give the buyer reassurance that it wont fail. Interesting to see what was left off the 2007 titanium x, as i said mine is 1 year younger and have a few more gadgets, front sensors, built in sun shields (built into the rear door cards) i dont have the rear heated seats, im guessing this was an extra when brought new. I have seen on some fb pages and forums that water in the boot and footwells are a big issue so i would give all the floor a check over for damp patches.
Nice, your enjoy the MK4 Mondeo. Had mine 15years good car. Yeah the highest spec would of been the Titianium X Sport with engine range from 1.8tdci, 2.0tdci 140, 2.0tdci 163, 2.3 auto petrol, 2.5 5 cylinder from Volvo and a 2.2tdci with 175bhp. The Titianium X was just below that without the sport's body kit or lowered ride. The engine in your one looks the same as mine so it's a 2.0tdci with 140bhp and the engine code I think is QXBA if I remember correctly. Sometimes referred to as the DW10 BTED 2.0tdci. 👍
Mine did 178k miles before the dmf went the clutch it self still had a fair bit of meet left on it but the dmf started knocking like your old Skoda gearbox bearing lol. When you do the clutch give the starter motor a good blowing out with a air line as thay get shitted up from the clutch dust
iv just brought a mk4 2009 Titanium X Sport .....look forward to see what your are going to do ....I had to sort out egr valve and MAF sensor...bitting point on my clutch bit high see how yours is..???? yes it is top of range yours is a Titanium X Business
A great set of videos. Not condescending but lots of information. My Mk4 2009 is in for a DMF and Clutch replacement . £950 but seeing the work you did seems reasonable. I wondered whether it was worth it but at 105 K miles thought it had at least a couple of years left.
Ooh same colour and age as my mondy, only diff is mines auto and ghia not titanium, btw no bluetooth on pre 2008 models, that button on stereo just mutes it! Also nicer screen on stereo was upgrade
Looking forward to this one. I owned a 57 plate one too, same colour but 1.8 Zetec model. Great car, part exed it at 165k. Had DMF go at 90k but that was only major issue.
I have a MK2 Focus Titanium with the same wheels. Mine have the same issue with the wheels where it has been kerbed to hell and has a fair bit of corrosion on the paint. It's a common issue with that specific ford wheel.
as well as the thre piece kit get the dmf as well seen as you gonna change the clutch might as well do the dmf the same time and the sub frame has to be removed when doing the clutch
Great to see you back James, we were getting a bit concerned about you. The Mondeo is a fantastic car in the Titanium X spec, loads of toys to play with. The clutch will also need a dual mass flywheel by the way as it will be too far gone to fit the new clutch to. Look forward to seeing the progress. With the better weather coming perhaps you van do the ST and start welding the Fiesta.
Even though it's blurred it odvious its a MK4 Mondeo good to have u back James
Alan Howlatt would be a great resource for this project. The master at Mondeo's and I'm sure he has fitted a few clutch slave cylinders in his time.
No one knows Mondeos like alan howlatt he’s the man
Plus he has the sexy Monica to 😍
Came here to mention him :D
@@dukeofdevon5608 She is butters mate
Key doesn't have to be in the cup holder to start it. If you ever have a hard to getting key to connect to the car though you can pop the cap off where a normal ignition would be and put it in there beside the transponder
these cars also have a dual mass flywheel that should be changed with the clutch, doesnt typically last much longer than the clutch and certainly not as long as a standard flywheel.
Was going to comment this, at least check it but at 140k if original, will
need changing and aren’t cheap!
I woulda thought hed get no change out of £500 for a clutch and flywheel kit(buying in this country).
These cars dont suffer with DMF issues like the mk3. I think due to the power delivery being much smoother and more linear. Mine has 230k on its original clutch and DMF.
Good to see you back!
Thats the noise on idle tbh. Rattling flywheel.
Titanium x sport is the top spec mondeo. I've had mine nearly 4 years its great car to drive, so comfy and spacious
We had a 2.2tdci diesel titanium X sport auto estate in panther black for a while 4 years ago.
Proper big old load lugger, with a turn of speed should you need it, heated and cooled seats were dead comfy, riding on 19" ' snowflake?' alloys.
Same here, starting my 3rd year and loving every mile.
Good to see you back, I have a 57 plate Focus with an identical engine, a monster on the road, it's a Peugeot HDI, lovely to work on.
I have the brochures for 2007 & 2008 MK4 Mondeo (+ 2010 MK4.5 Facelift) So,
Colour is "Thunder", Leather & Alcantara seats & Blue tinted windows were standard on Titanium X.
13:23 everything make sense now
That clutch and slave cylinder, seen some better days.
Easy fix, nice looking car 🚗 Happy days!
its a bluetooth stereo. most of the stereos for the MK4 mondeos usually break down after a couple of years or if the battery is compleatly discarged and bluetooth module above the glovebox is also giving in after a while, so you will loose connection and stuff. i just replaced mine for a android unit with Bluetooth, Navigation, DAB+, FM etc that works with the SWC and converse. its worth it.
There was a touchscreen in these, an option though, with reverse camera etc
I have a 63 plate 2.2 TXS with most of the extras, best car I've ever owned.
A couple of little mods I did to my Mk4.5 were upgrading to LED puddle lights and sequential indicators in the mirrors
Also they will dot he same to close if you use the close button on the fob in the same way
Looking forward to it, picked up my mk4 TXS 2.2 TDCi about a year and a half ago for £800 with some bodywork damage which I repaired. Brilliant cars!
Nice. I have a 09 mondeo titanium x, 2.0d remapped to 185, dpf and egr delete. Super rare to have heated rear seats in yours!
Not only the Projector style ones,
but mostly...
I have tried to use an adhesive sealant
but it didn't work ( driver side ).
Please?!
Your model, just like mine comes with Bluetooth connectivity which on my car
I only discovered by accident.
There is a lot of good and educational videos on TH-cam and I can definitely recommend checking out a few channels -
Allan Howatt,
Bodgit & leggit,
Nigel Ealand,
I'm getting fond of my Mondeo with every successful repair that I can get done by myself.
And fuel consumption is very good compering to my previous 2.1 V6X-type,
but not as comfortable unfortunately.
Good luck, James and keep making those videos m8 !
that may have cooled seat aswell as heated just keep pressing the button in the of and if i remember the lights go from the top down wards plus the radio is intergrated with the clock display
The stronger Diesel in the Prefacelift MK4 is a 2.2L TDCI with 175hp the Petrol version is a 2.5L 5 cylinder with 220hp from the focus ST
The facelift has also a 2.2L TDCI but 200hp and the petrol version is 2L EcoBoost with 240HP
The mk3 st 2.2 tdci is from a transit van the mk4 looks to be a PSA engine looking forward to seeing it all done
Change the dmf aswell, just had my clutch and flywheel done ! Common for the flywheel to break down and fileings go into the starter. Make sense to do the flywheel too
Right just a quick thought rather than buying this newer Mondeo why didn’t you dive back into your mondeo
couple of thing to look out for check the spare wheel well for water can buy weather strips off ebay to solve that problem, check passenger foot well for water aswell as cabin filter some times alouds water in. other than that one of the best cars had mine mk4 for years never let me down.
The TXS the highest spec. Loved my MK4 .
@@robthomas7232 my mother has a titanium x sport ecoboost. She's 70 and loves it....
If it has a dual mass flywheel make sure it isn't a funny colour or got too hot or rattling. If it is either best to change it whilst it's apart.
good choice with the mk4 look after them and they run for ever
Very comfortable cars, saw one on ebay 1 yr ago 480,000 miles £1600 must be comfortable and reliable to reach that mileage.
Get the fiesta and the ST done and gone!! Don’t leave them sat there 😂😂
Nice to see you back m8..👍
You're responsible for me having a go at my 1st Mini cooper r50 head..We actually purchased them at the same time.Same year same colour..
Lovely Jubbly, nice find. Once cleaned up should make a decent car for someone, maybe a taxi.
Lovely cars the mk4s especially high specification ones like yours! The face-lift titanium x sports versions are beautiful 😍 especially in red! For me they have aged incredibly well. Much better than the vauxhall insignia!
You had nothing to do. YOU HAD NOTHING TO DO? Look at the state of the ST!
Titaniuim X Sport is the top spec. I have the 2.2 diesel with every extra you could wish for. Lovely motor
Being on my 3rd Mondeo now and having sold my 2009 Mk4 TXS in October, I'm really looking forward to this build. A very good choice James.
15:54 You obviously haven't seen my Grandad drive!! 🚗💨💨 😂
My dads Mk2 Mondeo had a heated windscreen. That is one of the few modern innovations on cars that really impresses me.
Great stuff, I think the colour is "Avalon" Blue , a set of Titanium Sport alloys would finish it off too.
Mine did 178k miles before the dmf went the clutch it self still had a fair bit of meet left on it but the dmf started knocking like your old Skoda gearbox bearing lol. When you do the clutch give the starter motor a good blowing out with a air line as thay get shitted up from the clutch dust
Good to see the channel back! Thank you very much James. Looking forward to seeing this project to its conclusion.
Stay safe!
iv just brought a mk4 2009 Titanium X Sport .....look forward to see what your are going to do ....I had to sort out egr valve and MAF sensor...bitting point on my clutch bit high see how yours is..???? yes it is top of range yours is a Titanium X Business
My favorite car ever made
I have an 08 zetec 2.0 tdci and I fitted the titanium x interior makes it feel much better inside looking forward to seeing this progress 👍
You've got to put the facelift MCA sat nav on it!!! HSMCA or TravelPilot NX. Would look amazing
James ,check it see if your money has the Aircon seats press the minis with ignition on it goes blue!
Looking forward to this one. I owned a 57 plate one too, same colour but 1.8 Zetec model. Great car, part exed it at 165k. Had DMF go at 90k but that was only major issue.
I bought a Mk4 1 year ago. Its the Ghia version with wooden trim (which i like very much).
Im absolutely in love with it, ill probably never sell it.
cambelt will need done, dmf will need replaced, rear trailing arm bushes will need done, injectors will be ready to go, good luck
You also need a duel mass flywheel, which are expensive and should always be changed when new clutch fitted.
Cheers James, I can't wait to get started with a the YumCars goodies! Looking forward to this next build too, keep up the great work 👍
