These are great,they look like stogies with wings. Engines go put put put when they pass you. Love the looks and sound. Would be a super blast to fly one. Hope I can someday before I'm too old-aproaching very fast these days. Thanks guys for a great show.
The Guardian angels of the Republic of Spain. For me each name is good. The Mosca one (that was because when they went to Spain in ships from the Soviet Union they did in crates that said Moskva (Moscow), which sounds like the spanish word "Mosca" -Fly). wenn ich die wahl hätte zwischen jedem anderem Jäger des 2 WK. würde ich trotzdem die rata nehmen. sie hat zwar nicht die geschwindigkeit aber besseres handling, durch die geringe länge, und leistungsgewicht 1100-1200 PS auf ca. 2000kg. (Bf-109G: 1500 PS auf 3400 kg, spitfire: 1500PS bei 3000 kg, Mustang: 1500PS auf 4000 kg) das heißt das man im dogfight immer überlegen ist wenn es um enge kreise geht und alle anderen Luftkampfmanöver

Polikarpov I-16 Mosca has a fantastic roll rate, not displayed in this mild flight. I don't know if even the Focke-Wulf 190 could keep up in the roll rate department, & it was no slouch.
And in the facist side it went the "Rata" (Rat) name from the italian bomber crews, because of the Republican avitors strategy to approach flying low covered by the skyline, until the last moment, jumping over the bombers "like rats", so it is kind of an acomplishment... ¡Viva La República! ¡No Pasarán! @asconese Rata was the name that the Franco's forces gave him in Spanish Civil War. That's the name given by the enemy of that plane. "Mosca" is how the pilots of the I-16 call them in the opposite side, the republicans. I think it's better to name a plane as they pilots did, not as they enemies did, isn't it?
Gee bee has a non-retractable landing gear, a different cockpit location, a different wing profile, the shape of the tail, engine hood, etc. And - armed I-16 with guns and huge fuel capacity have 470 kmh max speed against 474 kmh of non-armed "sport" Gee Bee plane.

Almost all planes have been partly copied. But I've seen the pictures, the Bee Gee is very dubious example.
