  • The Budapest Queen Trap is an extremely creative way to trap the white Queen after the game starts with the moves:
    1. d4 Nf6
    2. c4 e5
    3. dxe5 Ne4
    4. Nf3 b6
    5. Qd5 Bb7
    If you are playing the Budapest you should be thinking about creative lines as your opponent probably doesn't know how to counter it properly. Try out this fun trap and let me know how it goes.
    PGN below to follow along:
    1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 e5 3. dxe5 Ne4 (3... Ng4) 4. Nf3 (4. f3) 4... b6 5. Qd5 Bb7 6.
    Qxb7 Nc6 7. Qa6 (7. Be3 Bb4+ 8. Nc3 (8. Nbd2 Nxd2 9. Nxd2 (9. Bxd2 Bxd2+ 10.

    Thanx Kevin I think this is called fajarowich gambit i have played this in the past, only problem in this is after Ne4 on some occasion opponent respond with QD4 in then we donot have any solid continuation Ng5 is forced which places black night at unsusal spot and we have lost our pawn for no reason

    At 9:38 would qe6 forking the king and rook be a viable option? You didn't talk about it but to me it looks like a.good move...

    There are several versions of this yrapp after ne4 is played. White can include a3 for instance and black can give up the rook a bishop and two paws for the queen where the queenless white can win with Rc1 and c5

    problem with this trap is that white gets a rook and a bishop for a queen. So white only gains 1 piece of material, not including that it's hard to get into this position.

    • @yangwenli668
      @yangwenli668 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ya but it's a way lot easier to play and maneuver queen than a bishop and rook.

    2:47 What if white moves his bishop to B5, threatening the queen and being protected by the horse? Would black still take? And would this affect the trap in any way.

      White's light squared bishop is blocked in at 2:47 in that position. How would white get their bishop to even move, let alone get onto b5 in one turn?

    • @iplgeek
      @iplgeek 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s possible but after Kf8 White is in pretty much the same situation. There are no more checks and Qd1# is coming.

    Is it even possible to castle queenside? I thought you couldn't castle if a square on the path of the castling was under attack

    • @nubofmaster
      @nubofmaster 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It is possible as the knight covers b1 and not d1 and c1

    I think I'm missing something..
    After queen goes to A6, and you check them with bishop, bishop blocks, bishops trade off, couldn't she just move to A3 after the knight comes to C5? And escape the trap?

    • @Remro88
      @Remro88 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You missed a move, you play Nc5 before trading bishops, forcing the queen to move to b5.

    @6:35 I didn't think you could castle through check. By the knight in this case. EDIT. Never mind, I found the answer. Only the king can't castle through check

    This trap has too many wish list moves by the opposition and white can equalize by simply trading the queen for the rook and at that point with black having lost a rook, bishop and pawn for a queen material would be equal
