I remember playing the multiplayer demo of this for hours back in 2000. The map had a prison the middle and bunch of hills around it and desert large enough that you could wander off for quite some ways.
DF1 and DF2 pretty much defined my early teenage gaming years. I'll never forget how excited I was for Land Warrior. I played it on a Dell Inspiron laptop with about a 15 FPS framerate. I still preferred the more tactical and realistic feel of DF2, but toward the end the multiplayer servers were empty. Then I started playing Everquest and the rest is history.
I did like Task Force Dagger - probably because it was based on an actual conflict. The thing I hate the most about Land Warrior and TFD are the weapon sprites. I even made a mod a while back replacing them.
