I am just amazed that I had the opportunity to listen to Dr Cummins and ask questions. Something I would never imagined when at uni studying. I enjoyed listening to practical advise of how to legitimise all languages in the classroom by including books in multiple languages in the school library. Thank you for a very interesting talk.

Thank you very much for attending. Dr Cummins has been very generous with his time, especially at a moment when he wasn't feeling great.
I am glad you enjoyed the discussion 😊

This video really nailed down the importance of starting everything early - it was great hearing about all of the different benefits of doing so!

I agree. Sometimes, we don't see the impacts long term. So it was a great point to take away!

So true. In Spanish main stream public schools multilingual children, adolescents and their families are not invited to share their heritage language and culture, thus are discouraged to cherish their multilingualism.
Hope some changes will be made implementing the LOMLOE (law) in Spain, developing students’ and teachers’ 👩‍🏫 plurilingual competency that is the most challenging one.

Unfortunately, this is the norm at the moment. But it was nice to have a reminder to be proactive and do something to value students' languages.

Psycholinguistic issues. Could I ask which ones, in particular, you have researched on and what outcomes were obtained?
I am Ukrainian-Spanish. The issue about Ukrainian parents and children is very close to me. Thank you for mentioning that.
