Thank you, Peter, for continuing to show us these hidden gems! I thought about it for a few days, and it just wouldn't leave my mind. So, I did the rational thing and ordered one! I had to get the Malaga red that you showcased in this video. The font is just too cool.
My watch was purchased 2 years ago from MAMACOO and, to this day, it still looks and runs as well as it did the day it arrived. That movement has never missed a beat despite never having been serviced. I can't complain about that.
That dial color, font, and case shape are all cool as hell. Don’t know if I’d pay close to a grand for it, though. It’s definitely a looker, that’s for sure. Btw, fantastic strap choice for this watch. That reddish-brown leather strap works perfectly.
That deep red drew me right in from the start/the thumbnail. Never heard of CAMP watches before, so thanks for that introduction! I appreciate the case shape more than the size, but I'm very interested in their future pieces!
By God when Peter Kotsa says this is the coolest watch he’s seen all year, I am checking it out! And as a lifelong Californian, I have a sense of pride also that the watch came from the Golden State. I agree about the bracelet (it needs a dedicated one), but I personally like the type on the case back. It’s artistic and industrial at the same time. Thanks for showing us the watch!
The dial is very attractive, but you are right in highlighting the undersized crown. I can envisage falling out of love with this each time I have to manually wind it, especially as I have large fingers and have struggled with this issue in the past. An easy fix if they are so inclined.
One of the main watches that I should take into consideration for next year's purchase. Good review as usual yet not a deal-breaker for me. Thanks Peter...
Thanks you Pete for sharing and for your always excellent review. Lots of things to like about this watch. I admire this company's attention to detail and focus on quality. Ialso agree that the price is fair for the offering. Btw, i really like the see thru case back. Lastly, i prefer this watch on a metal strap, the one supplied looks fantastic. Thank you again and be well my friend 👍
Never heard of them before, but what a great introduction. Gorgeous nigh black deep red dial, & I adore the typeface. Extremely slick first attempt. I'm in almost two minds about the exhibition caseback, I'd have been happy with a closed back & a thinner/lighter watch too. Great specs wise, maybe a chunkier crown would've been nice for more presence, but no other real complaints... But then I think "how nice would it be to watch the light take that dial through an acrylic crystal?" I'm pretty tempted ngl, it's rare to see a microbrand with such a clear & mature sense of independent style
I love it when you bring a brand as yet unknown to me on the channel. This looks really quite delicious. U think it's the depth of the dial that makes me say delicious in this instance. I like the vintage oddity of the font, thpugh less sure if it ix something I'd want to look at everyday. I suppose I could and it woudk certainly not be boring. The case shape, for me, is actually more immediately arresting. That undercut is quietly brilliant and it looks to wear beautifully. For me, it's a downside though that at these dimensions it's not an automatic. If the crown then also falls a little short, that becomes an even bugger complaint. At the price, an SW300 could have solved this for sure. The case back I'll give a pass. Clearly they want to be a funky dial, and it'll be against my wrist, so not a big deciding factor. For me, though, they could have simply kept it closed and neutral just as well. When finslky one takes into consideration that I would tend to agree that none of these straps are quite right, I get the unfortunate feeling I'm paying a full premium micro price for the wrong reasons. I think the concept will naturally lend itself to different dial variants and strpas can be changed, bracelets developed. Making the right choices this design direction could become very compelling.
Nice looking watch & nice size too. For me, it looks the best on the green strap with orange edging. One to consider definitely, if Santa's in a good mood !
A very cool retro design. The dial makes it modern. Love the added detail on the movement. Not too much... Don't know if I'd pay a grand but it is very cool.
I really like the dial. It's funky but not over the edge and seems very legible. I also like the display case back, it's unusual. What I have a problem with is the logo. It looks like if they felt they HAD to do something with the name. With a graphics program from the 90s. I'd have preferred "CAMP" in a minimal, thin font. Cool watch though!
This is a gorgeous watch and incredibly cool and original. Love the dial, the numerals, and overall design. The straps are fabulous looking too, shame they are not as comfortable as you'd expect though. Overall this is one heck of a watch and I'd absolutely love one of these; however, it's way out of my price range, as usual. I'd so love to see something this original for under $500 for once.
I dig it quote a bit, but the multiple fonts on the caseback bother me a bit. If you're going to use an italic font on the spec sheet, maybe mirror that font on the plate? Then again, I'm not looking at the caseback most of the time.
Nice simple and fun design. I understand the price point but, I’m not sure I’d go as to acquiring this one considering it seems like a dressier watch which does not suite my current lifestyle … but that’s just me. Thanks for sharing Pete! I hope all is well in your neck of the woods.
To stand out from the numerous microbrands, references to the automobile that Camp Watches has chosen to bring to these pieces, and which you highlighted in your presentation: superb dial in enameled lacquer, ultra thick and manufactured by the Swiss company Berlac; the dial color taken from the BMW 02 series of the 1960s; the fonts are unique...And let's talk about the movement, since everything seems to have been carefully thought out, the decoration of the movement with the screws is done, it seems to me, to emphasize the "engine" of this watch inspired by the automobile. In summary, Mr. Peter Kotsa, you introduced me, once again, to a different and unique watch.
I think this is so cool A slightly larger crown would have been ideal for me (especially being manual wind) Really stunning to look at though, that dial and font is 🔥
A more art-nouveau styled writing on the back would have suited the numbers on the dial nicely. That said. I love the design of the dial and the hands. Especially with that domed crystal.
A little more pop in that area is always welcomed, however I haven't had legibility issues here with this during normal daytime hours, its been nice to look at
Just had a look at their website, I agree with one of the other comments the hands need to be something with more “finish” the squared off ends don’t seem to fit with the look. If they did a cross hair style dial like their Florida green with more contrast I would seriously consider one for the collection. Don’t know why they changed that font for the other models seems odd.
This watch really makes me think we have seen it all in terms of mechanical three handers. All right, good looking mouvement, enameled dial and 1940’s font are cool, but does it really move the needle ?
Something very different for sure Pete, in two minds about the price especially for a manual wind although it’s a Swiss movement the accuracy spec could have been done with a 9000 Myota & maybe shaved some cost? I’m guessing the enamelled dial in person would be a stand out I would love to see one “in the flesh” , that font is beautiful almost art deco which I personally love. I think if it was closer to A$1K it would be a more attractive proposition for me. Great pics as always mate.
Interesting handset. Looks bland, but on second thoughts maybe they do not want to 'compete' with the dial and numerals for attention. Thanks for the clip Pete - I think a lot of us appreciate finds like this ie something we would not have found ourselves.
Neat watch. About $200 USD overpriced. I like my Merci Hodinkee with the same movement. At half the price. Not as nicely detailed. And comes with a garbage strap and mineral crystal. But i feel the price is more livable.
Not accurate enough for the price . My 4 month old Seiko SPB249J has run between +2.5 and -4 spd dependent on temperature. It is currently + 1 spd . $862 Au from Gregory's Penrith in a sale. Plus they advised me to ask for the 3 complimentary extra links, which duly arrived a week later.
Coolest is probably an overkill. 😊No scratch resistant coating. Push pull 100 ATM. Really cool dial. You have reviewed better microbrands, actually a few. Cheers
Hmmmm...not a fan of the brand name. It's a nice watch but the affordable field watch market is a bit saturated at the moment. For a colourful 3 hander under $1k I'd be spending my money on a farer to be honest.
Debatable: The dial color, the color Indizies and the font art are ... i dont know, ugly. Positive: case design, stainless steel bracelet and the clasp milling/design. Negative: crown size
@ Farer are in this price point but quality is high, also Maen comes to light, there a loads that are now established and have been through the lessons and they have now refined their offerings. Lorier, Brew, Traska, Yemma etc.
I dont think this is meant to threaten the best microbrands, but it is certainly going in its own unique direction and for a first design I think they have done really well here
Thank you, Peter, for continuing to show us these hidden gems! I thought about it for a few days, and it just wouldn't leave my mind. So, I did the rational thing and ordered one! I had to get the Malaga red that you showcased in this video. The font is just too cool.
My pleasure
Man, that's a beauty! It really pops with that crystal and the indices typeface 😎
Love your videography mate, always so good!
Really like that dial and font, something different
Me too..love that font
My watch was purchased 2 years ago from MAMACOO and, to this day, it still looks and runs as well as it did the day it arrived. That movement has never missed a beat despite never having been serviced. I can't complain about that.

I really enjoyed checking out this watch in person. Beautiful design and super cool CEO. Great video brother ❤
Totally agree, its been refreshing
That deep red drew me right in from the start/the thumbnail. Never heard of CAMP watches before, so thanks for that introduction! I appreciate the case shape more than the size, but I'm very interested in their future pieces!
Love this watch! Very unique!

He likes the Mühle Glashütte S.A.R. Rescue Timer so he has to be listened to! 😀
💪
As soon as I saw the watch on their website, I was compelled to check it out in person...so cool
Interesting source for the font. That's pretty cool.
Very cool! I like that the three different dial colors feature their own individual vintage-style fonts; each dial has its own font. Very cool indeed.
The dial is very attractive, but you are right in highlighting the undersized crown. I can envisage falling out of love with this each time I have to manually wind it, especially as I have large fingers and have struggled with this issue in the past. An easy fix if they are so inclined.

Me too Rafa, I think Metal works well with this
Be well brother

Uniquely traditional, love it!
Very cool watch - such a clean design👍 Being used to Nomos Tangente watches, the crown size isnt a deal breaker for me☺️
Love the watch ! Very cool !
Oooh that olive strap with orange accent at 6:48 looks absolutely spectacular with this watch. A nice one mate!
Yeah it seems to work really well...cant go wrong with ARTEM straps thats for sure 👍
Nice looking watch & nice size too. For me, it looks the best on the green strap with orange edging. One to consider definitely, if Santa's in a good mood !
Hahaha, have you been a good boy all year? 😂
Hmm, maybe not quite good enough for this watch. I suspect I’ll just get a pair of socks again 😂
The original leather looks beautiful, and enamel color, font, everything just works
A very cool retro design. The dial makes it modern. Love the added detail on the movement. Not too much... Don't know if I'd pay a grand but it is very cool.
Always a great review. It is a really neat piece. The blue one is also quite lovely. And forba brand named Camp, it is not campy 😂

I wish it had a timing bezel. How many Hamilton Murphs can there be?
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it
I like the nod to car themes. Subtle but very distinctive. I love it!
I agree 👍
Nice simple and fun design.
I understand the price point but, I’m not sure I’d go as to acquiring this one considering it seems like a dressier watch which does not suite my current lifestyle … but that’s just me.
Thanks for sharing Pete!
I hope all is well in your neck of the woods.
All is well but also flat out busy leading up to December
Hope all is well with you too 👍
Cheers brother
@, cheers! All is well.
Hang in there my friend, you’ll make it to Christmas I’m sure 😌👍🏼

I think this is so cool
A slightly larger crown would have been ideal for me (especially being manual wind)
Really stunning to look at though, that dial and font is 🔥
There is truly something special about this manual wind timepiece.
Love it!❤
As a designer, you can see what Im talking about here..so cool 👍
@ yes, Impressed with the case design, very interesting
A more art-nouveau styled writing on the back would have suited the numbers on the dial nicely. That said. I love the design of the dial and the hands. Especially with that domed crystal.
Love it.
I wish it had more contrast in the numbers and dial
A little more pop in that area is always welcomed, however I haven't had legibility issues here with this during normal daytime hours, its been nice to look at

Beauty is in the eye and the wallet of the beholder.
Hahaha, well said
This watch really makes me think we have seen it all in terms of mechanical three handers. All right, good looking mouvement, enameled dial and 1940’s font are cool, but does it really move the needle ?
Secrew-down crown, surface hardening?
You cant have a screw-down crown on a manual wind watch..it doesn't work
Surface hardening, yes always welcomed 👍
Something very different for sure Pete, in two minds about the price especially for a manual wind although it’s a Swiss movement the accuracy spec could have been done with a 9000 Myota & maybe shaved some cost? I’m guessing the enamelled dial in person would be a stand out I would love to see one “in the flesh” , that font is beautiful almost art deco which I personally love. I think if it was closer to A$1K it would be a more attractive proposition for me. Great pics as always mate.
In hindsight I actually think this would have been ideal with a SW300 series,..or as you said Miyota could also work.
Good to see something with a bit of character. How good would this have been with maybe an onion-style crown?
The coolest watch would be the Pitzmann Overture tbh 😅
pete. maybe you would like the PAULIN MODUL D better ... ?
Must be 1 of those that looks better in person. Nothing particular caught my eye about it on the vid
You're right, there is some great depth in that enamel dial as well as the very nice orange font that contracts it subtly but beautifully
Very lovely looking watch, great dial, mechanical 100m is unnecessary would be better without.
Interesting handset. Looks bland, but on second thoughts maybe they do not want to 'compete' with the dial and numerals for attention. Thanks for the clip Pete - I think a lot of us appreciate finds like this ie something we would not have found ourselves.
atlantic blue is really nice too, beautiful
Wow
That case is very elegant and the dial is nice. Not a big fan of the rest.
add a red strap and kevin would love that!
Hahaha, Kevin loves any watch...as long as its strap is red 😊
The dial does look like a camp fire.
Very good but too simple for me
Beautiful, too expensive for me.
Great dial. I would change the handset though. The squared off design clashes with the font.
Neat watch. About $200 USD overpriced. I like my Merci Hodinkee with the same movement. At half the price. Not as nicely detailed. And comes with a garbage strap and mineral crystal. But i feel the price is more livable.
I knew that font was from 40 Ford gauges...... I guess it kind of works being a hot rod guy that's into watches.
+11 Sekunden Gangabweichung am Tag ist einfach viel zu viel..!
Should you not start with name of watch ?.
Once you need reading glasses, lume is overrated. At 3 a.m. I don't know if it's 1230 or 415. I don't care how much lume is on there ;)
😊
Coolest is probably an overkill. 😊No scratch resistant coating. Push pull 100 ATM. Really cool dial. You have reviewed better microbrands, actually a few. Cheers
True, I have reviewed better micros however this looks so damn cool in my eyes 😊
Let Peter tell us what watch he finds cool. You can tell us which you find cool. We are not all the same.
What do you mean? Are you serious? 100m is great for this style of watch.
Plus literally no one will ever use more that that
@@tuliosouza8973 it's more the implication that a push-pull crown won't be watertight at 100m like it's still 1990
What do specs have to do with cool? Nothing whatsoever. This watch just drips cool, the font, straps, logo, case back… well done Camp
Hmmmm...not a fan of the brand name. It's a nice watch but the affordable field watch market is a bit saturated at the moment. For a colourful 3 hander under $1k I'd be spending my money on a farer to be honest.
Seems expensive for a mechanical watch.
I see this as a $500.00 watch. Not nearly 1 K.
No way that is $900. Pass.
Debatable: The dial color, the color Indizies and the font art are ... i dont know, ugly. Positive: case design, stainless steel bracelet and the clasp milling/design. Negative: crown size
Haha, never said its perfect, but it is cool 😊
Ordinary movement, manual wind…
Non starter for a grand
Hmmm hard pass for me. Does it threaten the best microbrands? Nope there are lots doing far better
What are the brands you're thinking of out of curiosity?
@ Farer are in this price point but quality is high, also Maen comes to light, there a loads that are now established and have been through the lessons and they have now refined their offerings. Lorier, Brew, Traska, Yemma etc.
I dont think this is meant to threaten the best microbrands, but it is certainly going in its own unique direction and for a first design I think they have done really well here
@ it’s different but a bit chunky in price.
