I just wanted to let you know that even though this is an older video, I am so thankful you did it. I just started crocheting 1 month ago and I have already made 2 scarves with this pattern and I love how it looks. Your videos are so nice to follow and you do a beautiful job on all your teachings.
Thank you so much. I’m happy this video is still being viewed and benefitting fellow crocheters. Also, congrats on your 2 scarves! I’m glad you like the pattern that much🙂 I’m also happy to hear that my style resonates with you. Thanks so much for taking the time to let me know🙏🏾
@AtreyuCrochet yes, I too am glad I came across your video, I'm making one right now with premier puzzle yarn in the colorway Backgammon and it's coming out beautifully! I had made an order with joann to finish a blanket for my brother for Christmas, and they sent me the wrong color, so I had to come up with something else and FAST! Thank you so much!!
Thank you. I love watching you, and yes I am a subscriber. It's wonderful to see men doing this craft. As a new crafter,it's easy for me to follow and do projects. This scarf is beautiful. I am in the process of doing this project
Your one hour- two hour tutorials have been life/ business savers. Thank you thank thank you. This stitch gives solid colors interest with its texture.
I've made two easy scarves using your video. They were gifts and the recipients were thrilled. Thank you for a quick and easy pattern that looks like it took 6 hours instead of 2 ♥️
I love this stitch, it's really springy, squishy and textured 😂. I made a mistake with the chains and made 19 instead of 18, but it worked out the same, just that the back dc was the front post instead of the regular dc. It also made the end of the rows work out to be front post, back post without needing to make two dc on the ends. I love the yarns you use. Very colourful and fun. Thanks. Crocheting from Tasmania, it's spring but still cold. 😊
Thank you so much! Yeah, I love this stitch for the same reason. It’s a lot of fun 🙂 And I’m glad you were able to alter it so that it still worked for you. Good job 👍🏾 That’s so awesome that someone from Tasmania is watching my videos. Thanks so much and stay warm🥶🙂
Thanks for letting me know. You’re breezing through them. I just posted Take 41 today of the scarf videos, so yeah, I’ve definitely done more patterns 🤣
Ok, ya got me with a 1-2 hour project. Well, I'm at 2 hours and I'm only halfway done. I'm not the slowest crocheter but I think I'm quick enough that 2 hours sounded reasonable. Is this like a mock waffle stitch? I love it! A side note, instead of a 2 stitch turning chain, I'm using a stacked single which creates a nice stitch for the last double.
I just came across your videos. This is the second one I'm watching. I agree with the comments. You're brilliant, beautiful stiches, and your explanations are great. I want to make a scarf and will be using one of your patterns. Thank you!
I just started watching your videos and you are very clear with your instructions! It was helpful when you turned your work over to show just how to do the front post double crochet!
This is the first video you've posted to TH-cam that I've seen, and I'm already excited to see more! Thank you for sharing your skills and talents in a way that even a newcomer like I am can understand and use to create something so beautiful as this gorgeous scarf and see tangible results from our work. I've come back to crochet, which was something I used to do well when I was a child, after more than 30 years, and almost gave up, because I thought I couldn't do it again, but I've stuck with it, and I'm looking for a project I feel confident to make, and I think this just might be it! It's been videos like this that help me make sense of this beautiful yarn craft, and I couldn't scroll by without leaving some praise and appreciation.
Well, thank you very much for sharing your story. I’m happy that you didn’t give up on this therapeutic form of art. There’s nothing like the feeling you get after having created something beautiful with your own hands, especially when you have the opportunity to present it as a gift to someone. I hope you continue to enjoy the tutorials. Welcome!🙏🏾🙂
Wow I just love the color yarns you pick or have in stocks. I really appreciate you patience in showing every step of explaining details. I looked at all your videos and must say you are very talented and adorable! You rock crocheting 🤗 I'm crocheting so much for Christmas and you are giving me so much inspiration with different stitches! Keep on rocking crochet vibes 😃 oh I'm making this in Bernat Pop Violet Vision n I must share how beautiful this scarf is coming out with this amazing stitch ty 🤗
Thank you so much for your kind words. I’m glad you’re enjoying the videos and doing a lot of crocheting. Christmas will be here before we know it! 🙂🙏🏾
I haven’t crocheted in years (decades).. while it took me longer than 1-2 hrs more like 6hrs😅, the sense of accomplishment w this new scarf I felt brought me joy. This scarf was enjoyable to make. Questions: is there a reason you chain 2 IPO chain 3 at the end of each row… other scarfs you hv chain 3 to bring up to DC height… would you call this a waffle stitch? AND finally …. Do you have a hat pattern to match?
Congrats! I’m glad you realize the most important thing…you’ve created something beautiful, regardless of how long it took you to complete. I’m glad you enjoyed it. Chaining 2 or 3 works. I just alternate depending on my mood and the pattern. Sometimes adding a 3rd makes it too loose for my taste on the end. No it’s not the waffle stitch. I don’t remember the name right now. And no, no hat pattern using this stitch at the moment. I suggest you use one of my hat tutorials with the same yarn you used for the scarf to make a matching hat for now. I hope that helps!
That is such a very beautiful scarf Atreyu crochet I like the thickness of it, looks very cozy and warm, I'm a crocheter too . My husband thinks and says he can't crochet but I told him he can learn to crochet and if you can crochet that beautiful scarf Atreyu crochet then my husband can do too 🙂, but he still think he can't.
Thank you! Hopefully, he'll give it a try. That's just like saying a man can't cook or a woman can't change a tire. Anyone, despite the gender, can do anything if they take the time to learn the skill :)
Good morning Atreyu! I love that color! It's like a psychedelic-camo look. And good on you for the explanation of the chain count on the foundation chain. Sometimes that's a challenge for beginners. If you don't mind me adding those extra chains may count as stitch or they may be used to *raise* the first stich up so that the row is even or those extra stitches may be used as *fillers* to avoid gaps in the work.
Good morning! That’s a good way to describe the color way. I agree that’s it’s psychedelic 😂 And yes, thanks for adding that explanation. That’s very true!🙂🙏🏾
@@AtreyuCrochet My pleasure my friend. I'm ordering the yarn. They should sponsor you as you highlight that brand a lot. ETA: I love the 3-D effect which also lends to the warmth and beautiful texture of the piece. This scarf is a *winner winner chicken dinner!* LOL!

I really like how my scarf is coming along. Such a beautiful stitch. I would like to make a blanket with this stitch. Can this be done, how many chains would you suggest to start with?
I’m glad you like it. It all depends on how wide you want your blanket. If I gave a multiple at the beginning of the pattern, then just use that and expand on it. I don’t remember what I said for this video. For example, if I said “a multiple of 3 plus 2 for the foundation chain”, then you could chain out 3* 50 + 2 = 152 chains. As I said, I don’t remember what I gave for this video so be sure to use that. I’ve made way too many videos to recall 😂

Yeah, I bet. There's always a cost to beauty lol. Hopefully, once your eyes adjust to the crazy colors, they will be able to better focus on the stitches themselves. Good luck!
I don’t see why it couldn’t. And the length just depends on how many times you want the scarf to wrap around your neck. You should use another scarf to gauge how long you need to make this scarf. You can then see how many times that scarf can wrap around your neck and decide that you need more or less length.
Hi! I’ve started this using all of the supplies you recommended. However, my scarf is starting to round and the ends are getting wider with each row. Please help 😩
If the ends are getting wider, you must be adding a stitch somewhere. Go back to the tutorial and double check to make sure you are doing exactly what I’m doing in the video. The number of stitches should remain the same. Try counting at the end of each row to verify that you have not accidentally increased. Good luck!

Can this be made into a infinity scarf? If so, how long will it need to be?
I don’t see why it couldn’t. And the length just depends on how many times you want the scarf to wrap around your neck. You should use another scarf to gauge how long you need to make this scarf. You can then see how many times that scarf can wrap around your neck and decide that you need more or less length.
