Hi dear . We can give pomagranate extract for my 10 month son . If yes how shall I extract and give . It ll not introduce cold to my son for this climate?
You can feed warm seasoned curd to your child but only during breakfast or in afternoon. Do not feed curd at night while the child is suffering from cough cold and fever as feeding at night may have chilling effect on the body which can lead to mucus development.
@Gayathri Bala You can feed Ragi porridge to your baby in winter feed it in morning and it should be warm while feeding. If your child has cough and cold then give in small quantity and check whether the cold is getting aggravated then stop feeding it and continue feeding ragi once your child cough and cold is cured.
Only in the early mornings you can have some of it's juice or fruit but if it aggravates you best option is to stop eating the citric fruits for sometime.
Only a little bit in the early morning, if after eating pomegranate the cold is getting aggravated then best solution is to stop feeding the fruit till the cold is gone.
Geetha, You need to start weaning your child properly. Try to extend his gaming time during the mid evening time and extend his other activities instead of the bm/formula milk you can feed your cow milk initially 20-30ml either plain or with dry dates powder, masala mix etc with dates powder/jaggery syrup/honey,/palm syrup/dates syrup etc can be added and can be fed.
As you have mentioned for most of the babies these foods worked in maintaining their energy and accordingly we have seen results as well. But for some these foods may not work and as we always advice feed food in small quantity so that the child and you could understand and baby to get used to the food. Always make a note and avoid foods that are not suitable for you and your child.
I don’t know what you find wrong in these, all are natural homemade cures and few easy Indian recipes for kids. Can you please elaborate what you find wrong in it?
It’s understandable to have concerns about what is suitable for children, especially during a cold or cough. While some parents may avoid rice, it is not inherently harmful unless the child has a sensitive stomach or specific allergies. In fact, warm, soft rice in moderation can be soothing and easy to digest, but personal preferences and cultural practices can vary. For eg., Idli, Dosa is a comfort food and is often fed to children in south India note that idli and dosa is made of rice but fed in different texture. For hydration and nourishment, offering warm soups can be an excellent choice. Simple vegetable or chicken soups can be both comforting and nutritious, helping to soothe the throat and provide necessary fluids. Avoid spices or strong flavors to make it kid-friendly and easy to digest. As for water, children often have specific likes or dislikes, and it’s best to offer plain, room-temperature, or lukewarm water during illness. Flavored or infused waters might not appeal to all kids, but the key is ensuring they stay hydrated in a way that works for them. Every child is unique, and what works for one may not work for another. It’s always good to consult a pediatrician if you’re unsure about diet or hydration during sickness. 😊
