    I have a 2021 5th gen Ram, the ac works fabulous and heat is very good as well. The heated seats and heated steering wheel are a bonus, they heat it up fairly quick! You might have some issues with yours.

      Thanks for comment Tiago. I love my heated steering wheel.

    You are spot on these issues! I have a 13 Ram with the v6 and 8 speed. That truck loves to be at 220 to 225 degrees. My dealer also said it was normal. It's given me 87,000 trouble free miles so far so I guess thats good. Would like to get 160,000 before I sell/trade.
    Same with the AC. It works fine but nothing to write home about. My wife's Explorer is much better.
    The engine also sounds like a sowing machine when you pop the hood. Which my dealer also said is normal.
    Overall I really like the truck. It averages 20mpg out of a 4x4 and pulls my boat fine. It just drives so smooth compared to the fords I am use to.

    I have a 2017 RAM 1500 Pentastar and my AC blows cold, even in the 115F+ temps in the AZ desert.

    About the ac and what I think the opposite. Rams ac is the coldest ac I’ve ever felt and just picked up 2 2020 rams and drove them home and put the heat on and it was VERY hot. I swear it woulda burned my hand if I held it there lol. Very nice. But the fords I had weren’t to good, heat and ac took forever to kick in and didn’t blow as fast as rams.

    I can help you on #1 and #2.
    1 - I run 10k on oil changes and my oil sample tests are always great. I run full synthetic and swap the cartridge filter at 5k miles. Filter swap is 10 minutes and it keeps the oil cleaner, longer.
    2 - I removed 6 of the fins from the Active Grill Shutter and left the top, middle and bottom rows. Truck stays right at the 199 degree mark and throws no codes since the AGS are still there. ALSO! The A/C stays cooler since there's more surface area constantly getting air flow on the condenser coil up front.

    I just bought the 2021 Etorque Big Horn and I love it. It gets about 21 hwy which is an improvement over my 2019 Ram v6. I like the center console but I understand your issue with it. It works great for what I do. Plus I drink a gallon of water so it fits perfect in there. Lol

    Thanks Harshtimes. Guess I need to to to gallon bottles. Lol. I’m still planning on constructing something that will hold my bottles.

    Congratulations quick to evil. Glad to see you got the 3:55 rear end. Should be a good truck for you. I’m about to turn 40,000 miles.

    I hear you jcallesano. Transmision does not slip, but engine rpms get between 1,000-1,200 rpms and when you give it some gas, it hesitates and then has to quickly down shift and then takes off. Also, i have an occasional hicup at that rpm where truck stammers but no ck engine light comes on. I would have to leave it with dealership for a long time for them to duplicate

    Holy moly 10,000 miles in between oil changes I thought five was a lot

      I went 12,000 on last change. Oil was good, no problems. Thanks for posting.

    I wonder if the heater core is indirectly warming the air. Perhaps you could improve the AC if you add a simple manual valve in the hot coolant line going to the heater core. Keep it open until spring and then close it for the hotter months.

    I Had a 17 Ram pentastar engine and it Ran perfectly and pulled my trailer with no problem. I thought that i would like The New e torque however it seems like it is noisy and always makes a winding sound that drives me crazy. Also the new pentastar does run hotter for some reason. I think that i like my 2017 better than this new pentastar engine
    My 17 tradesman quad cab i paid 27k brand new. My new to me truck is the .most expensive truck that i have ever purchased 2019 Big horn i paid 41k with 20k miles 🙃 dont get me wrong i love the truck however i am worried that the new E torque pentastar engine is not as good as the old one.. time will tell. Thanks for the video.

    RyRy, the etorque is cooled by the radiator coolant. It’s air cooled on the 5.7.

    I am averaging 18 mpg Jeremy. I have gotten as high was 19 but you have to stay in the 60-65 mph range. When you do 70-75, it will be in the 17-18. I keep tract of mileage on every tank. I don't think their is any difference with the 3:92 vs 3:55 due to the bigger tires the rebel has over the Bighorn etc. It just evens it up.

  • @RyRyWags

    I've got a somewhat unrelated question about the 3.6 Pentastar engine. Does the Etourqe have its own cooling reservoir? What liquid is used for that?

    Stuff a family sized bag of chip it:ll hold one or two cups with lids.

    What kind of mileage are you getting with the 3.6 and 3.92 gears? Are you happier with the lower gears compared to your Outdoorsman with the 3.55s?

  • @MarcusCapeCanaveral

    Really 5.0 qt? My 2020 Grand Cherokee Limited X 3.6L is 5.9 qt.

    • @foresterram869
      @foresterram869  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Marcus, they reduced the sump to 5 qts on the pentastar upgrade. Not sure why but drain interval did not change.

    • @MarcusCapeCanaveral
      @MarcusCapeCanaveral 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@foresterram869 Yes but my 2020 Jeep 3.6L has 5.9 qt. capacity. I could maybe understand a 5 qt oil pan on my 2020 Pacifica since it's so low to the ground, but why on a Ram? Maybe Jeep just didn't want to reduce the capacity.

    • @foresterram869
      @foresterram869  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are two versions of the 3.6 being used. Those with etorque have 5 qts. My oil pan is cast aluminum, not metal.

    These are not real issues though. These are preferences. I have a 19 Ram Rebel with the V6 and what I'm coming to dislike is the way the transmission seems to be always searching for a gear or it doesn't downshift when it needs to, for example doing 40 to 50 miles an hour on the highway there's no reason why it should be in 7th or 8th gear and when it does that I feel like the transmission is slipping when at constant speed... odd. Might be a dealer visit for me. This is my first Dodge...

    • @MikeFerrin131
      @MikeFerrin131 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mine does the same thing in my 19 Ram. On my old 17 ram i did not notice this issue.

    • @jcallesano
      @jcallesano 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MikeFerrin131 go get the update for i from the dealer, it's free. It's helped a little by resetting the learned adaptationsfrom the previous owner and "learned" my driving style, but I still dislike the transmission in it. It's not the same one as the hemis have.
