These were so cool when they first came out, and still are very cool. Will it start? Yes. Will it ride good? Yes. Will it outlast todays standard scooter? HELL YES. Cool bike there lots of local area fun. I have 2 big brothers an 84 125 Elite and 85 150 Elite.
Not only you can’t find good quality OEM parts but when you do the prices are through the roof. For the Honda nc50 there’s a close carburetor to it that’s made for the Honda qr50 it’s OEM but it’s almost 200 dollars it’s expensive but worth it.
hey, nice video. i'm working on a honda melody. i put a carb for a spree under it but its running a little rich do you know the size of the standard main jet for these carburetors? Thanks
This looks very similar to a 82 honda melody. Ive just recently aquired a similar one to my first 22 years ago. I need to strip engine and rebuild i also cannot figure out how to put the oil cog with the kickstart without moving off. Ive definitely found where the spring goes but cant see any info anywhere.
@@bangbang-ul6wv Sparkling red (that's the color name) was available all 4 years. 84-87. However you were correct on the Kickstart not available for 84-85. The decals was different in 84 so we know it's an 85.
I just bought a spree last weekend. I took it up a steeper hill and then down the hill and it started doing that exact same thing where it would just start dying when I tried to give it more gas. I took the plastic off it and the wiring is just a complete mess. I think I paid too much for the scooter so now I wanna make the damn thing run so I don’t feel bad.
@@maxradecky7865 haha i feel you man! These can be tricky to get running perfect but once you do, they run forever. Take your time and try to diagnose what the issue is. Likely, it is fuel related or something with the electric choke. Good luck and keep me posted on if you find the problem👍🏼
What could it mean when the bike recieve no electricity from the spark plug? I just bought one today 1985 honda spree and I really want use it but cant get it to start.
@@Mechanic_kid i have this air cleaner that the previous owner gave to me. but i have no idea how to put it on. it looks nothing like the ones in ur videos.
@@xxDAMAKILLERxx probably a aftermarket pod filter. get an original on ebay or join the honda scooters only facebook group and ask on there. someone will sell you one
Music needs to be a little louder because I can still faintly hear you talking, actually I couldn't hear you talk in which I was very curious of what you might have been ssying
First of all it's an 85 not 87. The year is written right on the VIN plate of all Honda's! It's easy to see why your bikes run so bad. I'm sorry to sound mean but you do not go the extra mile to getting the bike running well! The carb is not the only thing that needs attention! I appreciate you trying but you really need to go over a service manual and get more familiar with the Spree!!! The Honda engines are bullet proof which is why you can get them running but I've yet to see anything on your channel running WELL!!! You don't do anything close to cleaning it up and "tuning".
Similar issue I appreciate the time it takes to make a video, to all the haters on here make your own damn video

I wish they made a scooter like the spree nowadays

@@Mechanic_kid its a 84-85 the no kick starter and red is only availble those years!

If this is a two stroke maybe check the reeds
Good suggestion! Forgot about them!
Is the reed valve easily replaceable same with the two gaskets that go on either side I believe?
What is the can of stuff u are using to clean the carb?
Carburetor cleaner. Any auto parts store will have it👍🏼

Wouldn't an 85 have Kickstart?
@@smokeybear390 86 was first year with kickstart.
The loud awful music was totally unnecessary, because all of what you were saying was drowned out.
