While still hot. If possible fill almost to the top. When cools down the content shrink and will pull down the lid creating a tighter seal (mason jar lid). This is not canning, though. Refrigerate after the jar cools down to room temp.
Why don't you just use the syrup for tea? It's pretty much the same thing, except you're not gonna get nearly the amount of flavor from steeping dry calyxes.

Well, we finished them in 2 weeks. So for sure 2 weeks 😅

Root them for new plants. They grew roots in seed starter media. Unfortunately, the cuttings died over the winter when I was away for vacation…

No way! I actually plan to grow the bush again next year, I got so many that I ended up leaving to seed.
