Lovely video. Flew AI from NYC -lhr back in 1989. Then again in 2001 pre 9/11. The front economy section was configured in 3-3-3 just behind first class on the 747. Made it feel roomier The other cabins were stand 3-4-3. Here's hoping the "New air India" can impress us😊
The Tokyo, Bankok, Calcutta, Bombay flight on every Saturdays in 80s and 90s and don't know about 2000s coz I did no more wait to watch it at calcutta skies every Sat evenings for my leaving the city in late 90s.

Boeing 747-237 Mahendra Varman VT-EGB was the first flight I ever took in my life! 1st December 1985 when we got the news that my grandfather had passed away in MAA - Chennai. We took the Air India BOM-MAA-SIN flight from BOM to MAA, and I was 10 years old. Core memory of a lifetime. The next time that I flew on an AI 747 was in January 2002 when I flew BOM-LHR-JFK (same flight, no change) and I was 26 years old then.
