It’s not in your list… I compliment you on this video…I was really trying to bring my 3891 unit updated some…
Your videos always come in clutch. Will the video card block the other Pci-e slot? Also will installing the graphics card disable the onboard graphics or can i use it in addition. Basically i need to add a sound card (need a dedicated mic in), and a GTX 1050 TI LP for a 4 monitor setup.

Hey Guys, just wanted to share some information. I have an Inspiron 3891 with some upgraded components: i5-10400f ASUS nVIDIA TUF GTX 1650 4gb DDR6 w./6 pin 12 gb RAM DDR4 2666 mhz 256 gb NVME and a 500gb PNY SSD And i've upgraded the power supply to the 360w Dell one. About to upgrade to 32gb of RAM next week. I have been doing a lot of VR testing with an Oculus 2 Quest and also using Air Link, not the link cable (yet) Will keep posting my findings!
I bought an msi 1660 gtx super to put in my inspiron 3891 but it needs a power supply. I basically destroyed the back to get it in but now I find out it needs a power supply cable. Where do I connect the 8-pin power supply cable to the cpu if I buy one?
Nice! I don't like the stock case design, front panel and airflow, but I think you did a great job with it. Installing the case fan at the rear is probably a wise choice, as it is very congested up front with regards to the power supply intake. Other than that, I might consider a Noctua U9s cpu cooler, but I'm not sure how the vents along the base of the side panel would interfere with the airflow. Ideally, I would try sealing that off and modding the front panel for a little more intake near the bottom front
Hi, thanks.. honestly there are not much air flow from the front vents on the bottom if you can cut the bottom plastic for better air flow intake fan install..
Thanks for the tutorial! If I want to upgrade the stock RAM to 16GB, would I need the 2nd 8GB stick to be the exact same one as the stock RAM? I have the 3891 on the way, and not even sure what the stock RAM is other then being 8GB, but I want to order another stick now so I can install it right when my desktop arrives
@@jps5657 I just checked but on the dell site it is more expensive than other places. If I make sure to get it DDR4 and the right MHz will it also be good with another brand, or is that inadvizable.
Hi @mxkdi nice video thanks! How much of a difference does the 80mm fan make? And did you have it facing to remove the hot air from the case and bring air into the case?
Hi, thanks, machine runs a lot cooler with 80mm fan because with out that fan PC will run very hot when you add video card , and also you have to remove that plastic black fan shroud and you have to flip CPU fan so that will allow to cool down motherboard's VRM.
@@mxkdt thanks for the reply I added a 80mm usb fan as an exhaust at rear and top of the case. I will also be adding 4 40mm usb fans along the grill on the side panel too as intake fans. They should fit nicely with some slight modification to the grill. You can get them as a pair so 2 fans only take up one usb socket. I have a GTX1650 so this will help airflow and hopefully keep it cool. Is it an issue if I don't flip the cpu fan? If I do flip it will I need a dust filter on the fan? It's quite difficult to unscrew as I do not have a precision screwdriver. What tool did you use? Would the stanley 6 precision screwdriver set work. I saw it one of your over videos. I am also considering usb extender cables to a hub that I have with on/off switches so I can turn the fans on/off easily. When the PC is doing basic tasks I do not need the fans to be on.
Thanks for the info, It is not an issue and i did use mini phillips head screw driver to remove the CPU fan and also on the bottom those plastic clips will fall off the heatsink and you have to align them when installing CPU fan back.
