Yeah like I’ve been researching cockatiels and green cheek conure for a year and I’m finally getting one for Christmas 😊😊😊 now this vid gave me an idea of the cage setup

I'm definitely happy for you! That's a great cage. The one nick picky thing I'll say about it is watch for your bird escaping through the patio door as it doesnt have a true lock on it and birds can learn how to unlock those swing type locks. If your future bird does learn how to unlock you can put ss chain around the door and lock it with a C link 🙂 Just be really careful because you have cats. If your future bird escapes when you aren't home, you could come home to a tragedy ☹

Ahahahaha !!!! You dont have the bird yet and you already do the cage tour hahahahahah i thought im the only hahahaha. I have all the accessories of the bird from toy to perch to decoration even though the bird is just a week old. The feeling of decorating preparing stuff for the one ypu really want and love. Hahaha i learned a lot 😍😍😍
So glad you're so prepared for your soon-to-be baby! Just a tip, some smaller species get nervous/startled by the clicker sound. I just make a clicking noise instead
Love the cage! I have seen those before. If you put seeds in those containers you need to poke holes in the lid as seeds need to breath once out of the package. Pellets don't need holes. I recommend you feed mostly fresh foods, some pellets and a bit of seed. Use spray millet and or nuts for training and treats, never feed peanuts 😃.

I can’t wait to go more in depth on why it was so worth it, it’s a flight cage, 4 feed doors & they are spill proof inside so they can’t be lifted, the tray is on wheels and rolls out, the flap hides it and prevents it from coming out, I love the scroll top option too, it has the patio door so two door options on front, and it’s HIGH off the ground, very important to me for my cats, just a great cage! ALSO LOL remember when I didn’t wash my hair for two months???? Once is started washing it again, once a week now, it just reacted really well and it grew fast and healthier. I think it like cleansed it lmao

Could you not season the pot to make it non stick? Just wondering... 😊 Oh also, have you considered maybe getting a fancy pigeon. I hear there are some rescues and they are great pet quality birds!! 😊
@@LorisHartlandI can't recall what mine is made out of I found it at Walmart a year ago for under $20 but it's used outdoors year round no rust. It is not sharp bedsides at the cut edges, but you can have your husband cut off and sand or coat the edges in something similar to a plastic dip. We did and up using it to connect some rat cages indoors too. We spray painted to match the cages it did solve the edge problem too.
@@LorisHartland if it's under $20 I wouldn't risk it. Conures love to chew. My sun chewed through aviary mesh because I goofed and got the wrong gauge wire for mesh and then she ended up with heavy metal poisoning. You can go with the zinc coated aviary mesh providing you age it with vinegar and get the right wire guage.

I think bc I’ve needed the space to film for the bird stuff, the fish vids etc so I just haven’t had a reason to film in there, with it being winter I’m not doing big tank cleans for the reptiles till it warms up!
@@lewis3761 not necessarily. Green cheeks are pretty social. The one I have loves everybody. It's a matter of personality and how well they are socialized when young.

Beautiful cage. Not to be negative, but I'm researching "how to cat-proof your bird cage". The main search result for that is your "Custom Cage Reveal" video - from 2 years ago. I was looking through your other videos to see how your bird liked living in that glass cage. Now 2 years later you have another bird cage but still no bird. You clearly love animals and they all seem well cared for. I appreciate you sharing all the research you have done preparing for your bird. BUT I'm a little skeptical of your advice on things BIRD related. Do or have you ever even owned a bird? I see lots of videos of you in pet shops with birds. Maybe I missed the ones where you actually own the bird. I've had a cockatiel for over 10 years. We adopted a cat last year, and we had to move the bird to a room by itself (not ideal because birds love to be around people) because our cat is able to jump straight from the floor to the sides or the top of the cage (at a similar height and size as your cage here). I am still trying to figure out how to cat proof her cage of find the right cage that is strong enough to withstand the cat jumping on the cage and keep the cat out of the cage.

It’s definitely a good idea to get an actual clicker because while training birds need consistency

The little containers are life savers! I use them for my guinea pigs and their treats stay fresh so much longer!
